Look at the boys! Hell yeah I've got a feelin! You're looking at the last live performance of a band who knows that they're the best damned band in the world. THE BEST DAMNED BAND IN THE WORLD! :)
@45arther - I agree that Let it Bleed was a better LP than Let it Be, but the Beatles were always a step ahead (from a collective talent standpoint) than everyone else, including the Stones.
The Beatles gave the Stones their first hit, "I Wanna be Your Man" in '64.
The Beatles were/are modern prophets, and there are hidden messages and meanings in many of their songs. To learn how to perceive these hidden meanings, search "Truth Contest" in Google and click the 1st result, then open The Present and read through the section about The Beatles.
When all 3were going to do a dueling lead guitars, they went into the studio from the control, yoko got up,John told her to stay put, she was po'd. John knew this was a beatle thing and they were doing him a favor as it were here. You can hear 3 distinct styles, good guitarists can tell the diff betw the guitars and styles. I think they did it in 2 takes, absolutely fabulous. They had differences, but respect and love for one another. We focus on the negative. They all missed working together later.
i wonder what the guy at 2:10 thinks when he looks back at this... The only response I could possibly imagine if they interviewed me is "WOW It's THE BEATLES!!!!"
the people on the streets are mostly pretty cool about it, even the older people. they new damn well they had this national treasure called the Beatles and they loved it.
I love The Beatles. I found this very interesting reading about the the other day. Go to truthcontest (dot) com and open The Present, then read the section about The Beatles. Show this to everyone you know who loves The Beatles.
@haagsev it was all about politics man...Freedom of speech, vietnam, democracy, tolerance, de-segregation, human rights, afirmative action; the music was a tool to carry messages as well as being used as a platform to allow people to come togetherand meet allowing them to discuss ideas and opinions and alternatives to the current life-style
@apeshitdig Actually, the guy in the back is laughing 2:11, maybe it's all a stunt by the Beatles. They had several film crews roaming around, maybe they had some scripts too, to mess w you head.
Stuff like this makes me wish with all my heart that I was alive back in the 60s. If I was, you could bet I'd be that die-hard Beatles fan. I live in England, so it would ABSOLUTELY work out for me. :D
I wish I could meet Paul or Ringo, the two that are still living. If I ever did, my life would just be complete. lol. Seriously, I mean. <3
Thumbs up if you are madly in love with The Beatles, like me.
@28Turtles28 Paul was the bass player. And George and John both played the guitar. But on occasion, when Paul played the piano either John or George would play the bass, depending on what song they played.
@28Turtles28ok there is one thing i dont get about the bealtes. Are there 2 base players or 2 guitar players
Stu Sutcliffe was the bass player, Paul had to do it when Stu left, funny, bass playing ended up defining Paul who could do it all. George was lead mostly, but all but Ringo could play lead, bass, rhythm. Geoff Emerick's comments about "The End" on Abbey road blew me away.John asked to play lead, others laughed,he asked again,G said why not all of us,u can hear 3 styles of lead. see next
@ozark5150: as it happens, I was 22 in 1969. I turned 15 just after the Beatles released 'Love Me Do' (I lived in England then). I saw their first Christmas show at the Finsbury Park theater. As anyone of my age will tell you, there has never been anything like them. I was lucky to have been there. This is a great reminder of the greatest ever band.
I have this recurring dream that I will spend the rest of Eternity in Saville Row down on the street amogst these people listening to the Concert, listening to the people listening to the Concert : a blissful Groundhog Day. Building still there : roof still there. Check it on Google Earth (#3) I will pay another homage there next month .... like some visit the Cemetery ....
The Beatles have been gone for over forty years, but they influence music to this day and will keep influencing us as long as the youth listens to this music and puts their ideas into songs
The Beatles have been gone for over forty years, but they influence music to this day and will keep influencing us as long as the youth listens to this music and puts their ideas into songs
1969....what a great year. Beatles kick it off with a rooftop performance, man walks on the moon in front of a worldwide audience, and let's not forget woodstock. Born in '81, but I can't help but stand in awe of music from my parent's generation.
lol jk :D his Paul's hofner got stolen after that show I believe, which is rather unfortunate ): anyone know how much a custom one costs? I've been looking at the hofner custom shop, but they don't say how much! Anyone? Thanks!
The brits are so politically correct that the police actually knocked on Apple Record's doors to stop The Beatles, because some neighbours were annoyed by the loud music. Jesus Christ.
@patton303 true, but i like the song better when they covered it in 1969. because they sing fast, in the old days they sang it so slow it was boring :P
Ok, let me preface this by saying that the Beatles are beyond legendary. I worship each and every one of their songs. EXCEPT "One After 909". Just not my bag.
Look at mr imposition. "This type of music is all right in it's place" What place would that be? "it's a bit of an imposition to absolutely disrupt all the business in the area"
@MrLutter1 Normally I hate comments saying "____ people ____" based on dislikes... But I have to agree with you on that one. If this concert doesn't evoke feelings in the deepest part of your mind there's something wrong with you.
I think the Beatles are crafty, I said hey aye you cant beet them, i said aye they're they're all out on their own. They've got a star on their own. And they uh they in my opinion i think that ah a lovely a lovely crowd. They've got good good quality. They sing well, and uh well what else can i say than they're all good people.
these songs bring back memories man, when i was 6 i listened to Ticket To Ride, and when i saw them on a recording from Shea Stadium, WOOO! Dreamteam indeed
god what is it with all these haters..can you not accept the fact that music has just changed over times and stop exclaiming the fact that the Beatles are the best band ever.. no shit they are...u could have one brain cell and still comprehend that fact
There will never be another band/musican like The Beatles. I'm 21 and they are and will forever be my favorite. And if I ever have children I will introduce them to The Beatles as well. These legends must live on.
I like that guy saying they should not be disrupting business. definition of disrupting business is letting the rank and file working stiff a moment of enjoyment, some of them unable to afford to go to a concert, at the expense of t heir bosses paying them as little as possible. Gee, it might have cost the millionair business owners who are sitting in the bahamas a few thousand pounds to let their hard working employees an opportunity to see, or rather hear, history in the making.
They wanted to experiment, grow, changeThey both were affected by the times and surprisingly changed or help define that time. But they did not NEED any fancy smancy stuff. All their first stuff was indeed played in live concerts. After candlestick park, they went to the studio, shunned concerts (could not reproduce studio sound, hated beatlemania). With GMartin, the beatles came up with the new ideas/instruments/speaker setups.they were not known for gimmicks and certainly were not dependent on them.
Live and Spontaneous Brilliant Musicianship Something sadly lacking in this digital world we all live in.......I'm so lucky to have lived in that time.
Look at the boys! Hell yeah I've got a feelin! You're looking at the last live performance of a band who knows that they're the best damned band in the world. THE BEST DAMNED BAND IN THE WORLD! :)

god what is it with all these haters..can you not accept the fact that music has just changed over times and stop exclaiming the fact that the Beatles are the best band ever.. no shit they are...u could have one brain cell and still comprehend that fact
