  • hail satan!!

  • Randy died March 19 1982 to set the record straight

  • i just had an eargasm

  • I like Brad's better. It's just a feel thing. Love both the axemen for sure, it's just a preference. I'm prolly biased 'cause I saw SOTD in Boise after Randy died. Make no mistake.......Brad AND Randy both kick ass.

    D~

  • @Dunwyche Randy makes Brad Gillis look like one of the three stooges.

  • @coreywhitton No, Randy makes EVERYONE look like a stooge. P-

    D~

  • If you listen to other bootlegs from this tour, you can hear that he never played the solo the same way twice. To think that he's essentially going off the cuff here makes this solo that much more amazing and really speaks to the enormous, enormous talent he had. We're lucky he was able to share it with us, albeit for just a few short years.

  • @ErebeaDeity If u'ved lisiten to Black Sabbath original version, Brad Gillis is no where near in duplicating it. Brad's version is tighter with his lead solo changes where Randy likes to sit on a pulled note & seems to miss the change. Randy being force to play Sabbath is proberly why he played them that seems to me in a lazy way. Don't get me wrong, Randy created one of my all time favorite rock riffs..."Diary of a Madman!" Thanks 4 the response, Rock On /,,/

  • Wow, after hearing Randy's live version on this album & Brad's live version on "Speak of the Devil" album, I have to give it to Brad Gillis. It just sounds tighter to me with Brad to where Randy is just really letting his fingers land where they may on this one specific jam. Someone please verify by comparing the 2 /,,/

  • @comotevue1 It's pretty much personal preference. I like Randy's better, because I like his particular sound, and how he puts in his style into the song. I don't usually like judging covers on how exact they sound, 'cause that would be stupid, covering songs isn't supposed to be trying to get them exactly how they were originally. Besides, Randy didn't even like Black Sabbath and was kind of uncomfortable being forced to cover the songs.

  • randy a true master of the guitar.

  • The Guitar Solo Is Fucken Orgasmic...Beautiful.

  • I do find it hilarious that there are no covers of the end solo elsewhere on youtube (that I could find anyway). Awesome.

  • Randy RIP I wish I could hav met u, and i do somehow...

    ur ficken awesome

  • Randy. I LOVE YOU.

  • Randy Rhoads solo at the end is so fuckin Epic. I jus love that he didnt jus copy Iommi's solo (like most guitarists do when they do covers) Randy Improvise the entire solo with his God like style, R.I.P. Randy, but your Legacy and spirit will always live on

  • thumbs up if u think rhoads is a god

  • I was looking for this version a long time!!! Thanks!!! Is the best for me! ROCK!!!!

  • rhandy will never fufill his destiny, we only hope to fulfill a fuknm swig of beer of ours. He will always make me fly. give me a fraction more of him before i die

  • OH GEESE..its just my bro Randy OWNING another song..i mean like he's all over it!

  • Randy is the reason I stuck with guitar in the beginning and he is the reason I decided that I want to make music my career. I'm 19 and have been playing guitar for ten years now.

I love Randy's playing and all his stuff. He's one of my absolute favorite players ever.

  • lowkey the best guitar solo ever...

  • An absolutely unbelievably gifted and talented guitar player - not many have played this well before or after - RIP Randy, one of the best ever, and will always remain so.

  • greatest solo of all time pieriod!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • That's cause maximum carnage quoted this solo ;)

  • RIP Randy!!! We will always remember you!

  • why dont we just listen 2 the song instead of saying who inspired who or who plays better

  • Randy passed away in 1982.. Not 1981.

  • solo sounds like maximum carnage:supervillains

  • The top three guitarists in my opinion are

    1. Randy Rhoads

    2. Jake E Lee

    3. Zakk Wylde

  • @mrdeersniper

I Agree ^^ Zakk is good, but Ozzy make so many good songs with Lee.. even if a short time together, Lee make more than Zakk.

And Rhoads is on a whole another level =] these two cant even scratch him

  • Randy Rhoads is one of my favorite guitarists. I was sad for his death but his music kept me happy. It still does. I admire his playing but also remember not to only think of him as just an amazing guitarist but also a good person. May he rest in peace.

  • I like this way better than Tony Iommi's playing.

  • @mrdeersniper

I can somewhat agree with you, but randy rhoads was probably inspired by iommi. Randy definitely kicks ass.

  • @GramKrakerJG I'm not so sure about that. I heard somewhere that Randy hated playing Black Sabbath tunes because the thought they were boring...

  • @rocklikebrucelee

Yeah, maybe you're right. Black Sabbath was heavy, but Randy always liked a fast-paced exciting song. Not saying Black Sabbath was bad, but Randy probably had preferences.

  • rhoads made this song his own

  • this is so much better thne the sabbath version

  • @1234Sebster I agree. Way better than the Black Sabbath version.

  • check out my tribute to randy, it's some of my favorite solos from blizzard and diary. lemme know what you think.

  • why are you ppl thrashing buckethead like that? his music is beyond this world, and he is a genius. and i only recently discovered all randys work and i am even more fascinated. comparing them would be foolish. they are my heroes, and ill never get over randys death completely :(

  • This is by far the best version of this song EVER!!!!! The guitar is perfect, bass and drums are awesome, and Ozzy is at his best!!!! RIP Randy.... but I do have to say that Zakk is also amazing and Ozzy couldn't ask for a better replacement... YEAH!!!

  • fukin amazin

  • rest in peace Randy Rhoads :(

  • anyone who tries to compare, buckethead to Randy shuld just give up on music and go listen to rap or something.

  • TURN THIS UP!!!!!!!!!

THE fattest metal sound ever created at 4:23

  • 28 Years ago today. Thanks for the music randy. Love always.

  • randy was amazing in the studio as was live and buckethead sucks why the hell are we even mentioning buckethead on an ozzy/RR vid? buckethead plays with no feeling or emotion and he ripped off diary of a madman so how i see it is bucketheads a homo the only reason hes so "big" in music is because of the fact of paul gilbert taught him how to play other than that he sucks he never will be as good as RR

  • fuckin eh brother - buckethead is shite compared to rhoads

  • @db012086 Definatly!!! Even Dimebag from Pantera, although he was a good guitarist doesn't compare to Roads... Randy Roads is a true legend...

  • im totally downloading this song and converting it to mp3!!

  • Best version of Children of the Grave ever recorded.

  • how about slash in the top 5????????

  • slash writes good music but he cant play good

  • 5 best guitarists IN MY OPINION:

    1. Buckethead

    2. Randy Rhoads

    3. Jimi Hendrix

    4. Jimmy Page

    5. Eddie Van Halen

  • And James Hetfield :)

  • @icankickflip

In my opinon, Bucket has no skill man, Randy beats all the way. And Ed should be one up from Page.

  • @MaidenVoyag3 How can you say Buckethead no talent? Even if you don't like his music, he's still an amazing guitarist...

  • May be true, but it looks to me he plays the same scale almost all the time, just in different positions and variations.

  • no he isn't he just plays fast the same all the time... FU*K! what is wrong with you people, man.... no words

  • @Egilutis What are you talking about?

  • buckethead.. someday you will understand.. maybe

  • wow dude are you stupid? Maybe you've only hear one or two of Buckethead's songs. Look up Whitewash. Thats not a fast song.

  • ok man, i'll try :)

  • hmm, that song is nice, not bad. But when he played with guns, he doesnt fit there. He isn't very bad, but.. not very special i think, but how you said, it is your opinion

  • @Egilutis yea he didnt fit in with GNR at all....

  • it's live, everyone one plays fast... I agree with you. Listen most live performances, the artist don't play the same as the controlled atmosphere of the studio. That why live is so good!!!

  • i was talkin about buckethead with other guy, not randy... RR was a class! True ripper!

  • Asking someone who their favorite guitar player is like asking someone what their favorite song is... it is subjective and opinion based different people admire different qualities about guitarists and music alike so just because you say _____ is my favorite guitar player this does and i repeat does NOT make him the best or better guitar player .. that's just my opinion.

  • @iwantastrat Fucking finally someone that realized the truth props man some other guys have no common sense around here

  • @Redlabel0 :D

  • @iwantastrat true but u gotta admit Rhoads is awesome

  • @iwantastrat well said :-)

  • @iwantastrat and it couldn't be more correct.

  • Best song of the album...

Randy is just a GOD between the mans, he make's this amazing song just something else..something godlike.

    Randy Rhoads is the G.O.A.T.

  • @rafaelluiz18 that means God Of All Times, right?

  • @rafaelluiz18 BAAAHHH

  • anyone who says tony is better than rhoads is an ignorant fuck lol this may be his song, but rhoads did so much more with it. and rhoads solo just crapped on the original.

  • Yea, Tony took drugs and alcohol throughout his career. Randy took lessons up tp the time of his death.

  • I'm not getting into debates over who's a better guitar player, just gonna have a nice flashback. I remember buying this on vinyl when I was 12 years old. I drove my mom nuts with it, and she liked Ozzy too....lol

  • Randy porque te moriste!!!

porque los mas talentosos mueren jovenes!!!

    Randy RIP.

  • I don't think anyone in that day carried a machine gun pick like Randy. In this Genre anyway. At one time Johnny Winter was considered the fastest. And I know that Frank Morino was faster than Hendrix. 2 more that should be checked are Al Dimeolo and John Mcglaghclin. Malmsteen, so good noboby wanted to tour with'em. I love Hendrix but Look around before you say "BEST" . Best at what? Apprigios? I don't think so. But, the best of something on a six string. I'm playin his version of Hoochie now

  • malmsteen before his belly got fat and his ego got fat. you know your shit man. i hear ppl all the time say "______ is the best guitar player" and they don't even play guitar lol

  • people ask if i believe in god and i say.. "yeah he has a name. and it happens to be randy rhoads, fool."

  • ya but I'd have to give "best guitar player" to Steve Vai

  • wow, man you couldnt have put it better :P

yea, alotta people think that malmsteen is the best guitar player in the world, but if you listen closely to his solos, they are all the same scale, but with certain twists of his own thrown in xD

  • For some reason I just couln't take to any Ozzy/Jake after" Bark". Ozzy claims that Jake was more trouble than he was worth. Says he was tryin to run the band after the third day. ZAKK was the best thing that could have happened to Oz after Jakes Dis. For Jake too. Badlands. An Ass kicken work of RocknRoll. I got too meet Jake after hours in a dive down Greeneville S.C. one night in 91 or 2. With him bein on my " I gotta learn to play that song" list a couple times over. I got to say thanks

  • very nice,but remember,is a cover,iommi is the creator ;) RIP Randy²

  • how to does he get that harmonic so high at 22 seconds??? RIP Randy

  • cuple ways.. ring on the hiegh e at 22nd fret to drag up.. or do a pinch on the 5th fret on b string and use whammy dive up

  • We are all the Children of the Grave!

    So Rock Hard ya Fuckers!

  • randy dies in 82 not 81

  • hell yeah dude, randy is good, but tony is just a new level xD

  • noob.. ur kidding .. right..

  • no I'm not...sorry dude.

  • .. eh.. whatever diff taste.. but im damn well positive randy was more melodic

  • nope

  • Soory but he does...end of story!!!

  • no randy is fucking god end of story

  • randys playing was 100 times better than jimi...even though hendrix is one of my favorite guitarists...randys improvisation, his riff's,his soloing, and his creativity is way better.

  • Randy's music overall is Beethoven/Mozart scale progression stuff that's boring, flaccid, and dryasdust, while Hendrix's improvisations are legendary. Randy doesn't hold a candle to Jimi. Listen to Electric Lady Land, Jimi Hendrix Blues CD or the South Saturn Delta album and tell he's not the best of the best.

I respect Randy's abilities, I'm just not a fan. Ozzy's, Jake E Lee years were the better tunes Ozzy had during the 80's.

  • Its a well known fact that after Randy died and before Brad Gillis took Randy's position for that Ozzy tour, that Jake E. Lee was asked to fill in and he told Ozzy that Randy's shoes were to big too fill and it would be very noticable live. He did later go on to tour and record with Ozzy but his live performances paled in comparison to Rhoads scope, knowledge and complexity of muscianship. And Jake E. Lee is bad ass BTW.

  • Randy is just way to classical for me. I perfer blues and Jake is a strong blues player, just listen to his BadLands stuff. Plus Jake added RnB, dance, and pop licks to Ozzy's music that just wasn't there when Rhoads played with him. I'll agree that Rhoads was an accommplished guitarist, but Jake had more style, just listen to "Shot in the Dark" you can head bang or dance to it...your choice.

I have a tough time enjoying Randy's playing style. Just an opinion.

  • Yes, Jake is more blues rock. Badlands was awesome. Loved that album. RIP Ray Gillen, great voice. I don't know. Randy could just draw such emotion from me with his playing. He could command what he wanted you to feel with his playing. They're both brilliant guitarists. They said Randy would've headed towards synth rock had he lived. Interesting.

  • Nope, first it was a dude named Bernie Tormee. A Strat playin Hendrix decsiple. Great g man but obviously in the wrong place. Then Brad, and then Jake.I saw the speak of the devil tour in feb. 1983. I expected to see this new G. Hero (Gillis) but he had went back to Night anal Ranger and here was some guy (Jake) that I didn't even know of. I was pissed about the no Gillis deal at first. But later learned to love Jakes Blue licks and wild Lighten fast style. RocknRoll Rebel. One of the best!

  • Ozzy: vocals

    Randy: lead guitar

    Rudy: bass

    Tommy: drums

Listen to all group since minute 3:08 There´s not mistakes. Amazing!!!!

And the guitar solo, (to me) is the best solo that Randy plays.

  • theres no mistakes period

  • MR. Randy Roade +O RIP

  • how many guitar players do you know sound this good 25 years after they passed........not many that i can think of......listen too that tone.........the bar squeals ect..........he was AMAZING LIVE......

  • You are 100 percent correct! This is amazing. I have the Cd and I forgot how good this recording is.

  • =D you cant kill rockin Roll

  • i never get tired of this song!

  • i lie by his grave he made awsome fills threw out this song.someweirdkid95 who do you think you are inspector gadet?

  • This is a great album, don't get me wrong, but the playing was a little sloppy though throughout the entire band. Randy is a great guitarist don't get me wrong, but there was better live shows than the album. Ozzy's vocals was a little sketchy on a few phrases, but nothing hardly noticeable, and the drummer kinda wanted to speed up (or at least it sounded that way)

  • the only part i think could be changed is the chicago version of crazy train instead of the cleveland but to me all the other choices are perfect

  • i have this album

  • that single day changed our lives =[ march 18 1982 R.I.P

  • It was the 19th.

  • randy totally kills tony when it come to the live stuff.

  • RIP Randy March 19, 1982

  • This album is fucking legendary

  • Is this with the solo at the end? Actually I'll find out.

  • to aminthedream. randy was not a bitch but he was a fuckin master although i like the original song by sabbath

  • smokes slash's ass and holds the true originality throughout these years even though he is gone. he has influenced some of today's best guitarists and i think he is one of the greatest ever!

  • his polka dotted one was more of a riot thing but he still used it after... he mainly uses his Les Paul

  • what guitar did he play for the sabbath songs? it ahd to be the same one for all three because they never stop between the three of them. and what guitar does e play for goodbye to romance? just wondering

  • this album is absolutely one of the best rock albulms ever produced play it loud and you will know this is the pinnacle and the utmost in your face rock albums

  • RIP Randy March 19, 1982

  • 1989

  • the best guitar .....

  • It's been 27 years since he died and he's still remembered. I dought that anything will push this stuff away as long as we still love it.

  • the only things i dont like about any song randy played are that i know the popular culture will slowly, then quickly no longer like this style, and he will most likely eventually be forgotten and in his inspirational place will be someone lots worse

  • The popular culture has already forgotten this kind of thing. The people have been steered to forget it. That's why people like us have to buck the industry and keep it alive.

  • fuck the industry. it's run by the record companies. they steal all the money. artists don't make shit. that's why none of them have complained at limewire and the rest. the only ones that complain are the record companies. because they're the ones that make money off the songs. artists don't make any money. and so the record companies are corrupt in their lust for green and they make people change their tastes. if we didn't have record companies and lawyers it would be a whole lot different.

  • I agree, but there is a flip side. If the people didn't just take what they were spoon-fed like dimetapp, we wouldn't have to put up with it. I wonder what it's going to take to light a fire under people again?

  • fuck the popular culture. randy lives on thru his music.. never to be forgotten ... you can hear his soul in the music, and that my friend you can not kill.. and you cant kill rock and roll!! lol but seriously dont ever blaspheme on randy... he is the light

  • although the culture has had good metal pushed out of the way by all the new bands, no one will ever forget people like

ozzy and randy!! they are gods, only now randy is living with gods. you can push rock out of the way, but kill it no never

  • anyone who has ever held a guitar in his or her hand and could make a little noise would recognze that Randy was a true bitch master.

  • depending on what style they played, like country, aren't going to care or probably know

  • True but ... Randy had so much tone its hard to believe its live. the guy got these notes that cut you. No one could have ever seen randy live and walked away thinking they hadnt just watched a beast. There is just a class of amazing players. different but each amazing in their own way and Randy was such.

  • This is by far the best version of this song. Man brings back alot of memories. that solo, there's just so much feeling there. Randy was awesome!

  • never forget randy

  • No words to describe this! Still the best guitar player in Universe!

  • Unbelievable interpretation..doesn't stray as far from the original as on paranoid...but the flourishes he adds are nice.

  • damn Randy is beast guitar yeahhhhhh

  • randy roads guitar playing was not from this earth and unbelivable how he interpret the sabbath song

  • bro i love you

  • randy roads guitar playing was not from this earth and unbelivable how he interpret the sabbath song

  • cool

  • Randy's style here was very artistic. One of the best guitarist. He adds finger tapping like Eddie Van Halen style. Toni Iommi original lead was deep and more of a head bangers melodic tune. Both of them were legends of guitar shredding...

  • Only Randy can match Iommi's playing on the original.

  • more than a match

  • so he's still the best.

  • Only Randy Rhoads could spice up this already great song (as well as the other two Sabbath songs)...God Bless the greatest guitar player ever on earth. We miss You!!!

  • you inspire me so much randy if your watching right now.

  • um dude hate to burst ur bubble but randy rhoads is dead, he died in a freak flying accident onmarch 19, 1982. R.I.P ONE OF THE GREATEST GUITARIST I KNOW. r

  • Wonderful, incredible, fantastic... Whatever, I cannot say what I feel... Randy was so good that he managed to bring his soul to this song... The prophet Ozzy is also greater than ever...

    THANK U

(and thank U NYY117 for posting it)

  • Randy you will awlays be missed by millons.

    R.I.P.

  • thats the best version ive ever hear this song

  • Definitely. Exceeds Sabbath's version in every way.

  • Yeah, this is my favorite version of this song as well.

  • ME TOO!!!

  • His death was in 82 actully.

  • Single best guitar solo ever recorded. RIP Mr Rhoads, you were something else.

  • Damn, I always love this song!
