When I saw them live, that was the first thing I noticed. He makes all the tempos faster, which is a sure sign of a poor drummer.

Listen to the bass from the first bar till the last... He keeps playing the same on exactly the same tempo. I think this shows that the tempo hasn't been made faster.

Personally, I think Joey is a great drummer: he could play thousands variations (some not as technical as Dave Grohl, but still great), without changing the tempo of the song. From the first second of a concert till the last, Joey keeps going, he doesn't seem to get tired.

QOTSA is a fantastic anyway: indivdually and as a band!
