A scrub is a racing technique to maintain more forward momentum and be able to go faster off the lip of jumps by taking away the spirng of your suspension. A whip is a style technique in which you pop up high by using the spring of your suspension and maintain as much air time as possible to complete the trick. the two don't mix. Race a little and you'll understand...or ask your mom about "completing a trick" she probably has lots of experience.
