One strategy that my friend and i found was that yes, you are up there, but one person is at the entryway where they come through up there, and the other at the top of the stairs, and one blocks the door, the other the stairs. well that's 2 player, but the other one or two people you have could be there for support on the stairs or down lower as well.

This is the best strategy: stay on the place where they are until 7:49 and leave a crawler. Then open the mystery box, pack a punch weapons, kill the zombie and go again at that location.

this is a fail technique i have never got past round 28 with this one, the catwalk should have failiure written all over it if all 4 players stand there shooting, my technique can get me past 40 if i get co-operative team mates and no one trying to act hard and going lone wolf, most off them fail. And when THEY go in a bad temper becuase i wouldnt even bother to revive them it shows that they only go lone wolf to try to look good, only do it if you know you can, fail doing it, dont cry about it

I made 160 round solo in der riese and im not death yet! (because in solo mode you can pause the game) my strategy is:at the 3rd round open the right door, after take a gun in the random box, turn on the power and survive the hellhound, after that round go take the jug, go back take a new weapon in the random box. at the 10th round, begin to open the doors to link the teleporter, after buy quick reload and the double tap. now make money to pack-a-punch your weapon (if your weapon are good) if n

one guy guards the window (usually has a rocket or grenade launcher to fire down and keep the window boarded up. two guys unloading into the stairs (both have high MG42s or PPSH) and one guy up on the catwalk firing a wunderwaffle where the zombies come from (which should take pressure off the guys by the stairs). thats actually one of the worst possible strategies to use because when your friends get killed then you get cornered in that spot and eventually die.

It makes more sense to have 2 people shoot down the stairs, one person cover the window as well as shoot down the balcony, and one person shoot out the windows by the stairs. My friends and I got to level 35 doing that.
