You're very good at explaining! I would like to know more about shooting with the Camera at night! How the different combinations between shutter speed, iso and aperture affect the video!
@PeteyThePickle not really, unless youre shooting footage in the same ambiance and same light conditions. i'd suggest to mantain the same shutter speed because you'd (presumably) be shooting at the same fps, and then adjust the aperture to expose correctly, even if it means sacrificing either shallow or deep DOF.
@MrLukasDiSparrow Uhm, on your lens.. there should be this thingy were it says 'AF or MF' slide the thing to MF.. then you can move the focusing thing around!
it wont let me adjust the shutter speed. everything is automatically set and automatically adjusts, even when i have everything i can think of on manual. help?
@4af To adjust the shutter speed, which this guy didn't explain, you need to go to menu, and in the 1st menu at the very top, where it says movie exposure, set that to manual. Than the twiddly wheel near the shutter button will set you shutter speed, and the dial next to the screen with set your aperture!
i ve got the standard 18-55mm lens. whenever i adjust the lens (not the focus) to zoom in or out the shutter speed changes automatically and the brightness readjusts automatically. is there a way to stop this? it lets the video appear very choppy.
Hi John i have just got the 60d it is great, when you explain how to keep the shutter at 50 in my case, when i dial up or down with the aperture how do i know the setting is correct or is it a matter of just looking at the screen to get the true reflection, i have a viewfinder magnifiyer. will the look on the screen give me a true reflection of what the outcome will be, if i like the look for day or night can i save the settings?
ooo thank you buddy.......was very helpful. I was searching all over for the past a month ......yours one is bang on the target. You have helped me exactly the way I wanted.
@carmamartsa I'm not able to change the shutter speed and f stop when in video mode. is there a setting I need to change in order to make them modifiable?

i got 60d but i dont have 30fps but 24 and 25? how come?
MrLukasDiSparrow 10 months ago
@MrLukasDiSparrow In the menu you can change the video format from NTSC to PAL (and vice versa).
NTSC is capable of 60fps where PAL is only capable of 50fps.

Sorry John just to carry on with that if i dial down the aperture to the middle of the meter would that be the best reflection?
