too bad the band is horrible. Hope this guy's paid what his time is worth. Half the time, promoter walks with the cash and the sound company that owns the kit is paid upfront by the venue...it is the sound guy that gets screwed lugging that crap in and out of the place and think they pay him enough to own that equipment? Not (unless he is a one man show himself)

haha exactly. i've been behind an 80 Channel SSL before and most of the channels are Vocals using probably 25-30 channels just for Voice and Verbs. so there are times when you need more just live you only use about 1/2 as many then in studio or full on live 14 piece jazz bands or something similar.
