Although I won't be delving too much into Freirean pedagogue, I still find that area of education very interesting. My philosophy and education module has been mainly looking at education as empowerment and dialogic education. Dialogic education is especially insighful - have you heard of Wegerif?

When I met the philosopher of education Nel Noddings a couple of years ago, she told me (and I'm paraphrasing here) that we have to care for and nurture younger generations through philosophical inquiry so that they will become strong, informed citizens focused on the betterment of our state, ourselves and our world. I agree and believe that the foundation of this should start in grade school.

I agree. Very well done.

I was in "gifted" classes as a kid and we still weren't asked to express ourselves like this. Kids will always surprise you if you give them the opportunity.

This was really well done. I too am jealous I didn't have this program as a kid. It's nice to know that these kids are engaging in intelligent conversations at such a young age. It will probably help them to communicate much better as adults.
