  • Man, you crushed him right off the line.

  • Just post a vid of a race against and equally modded Marauder and c who takes the trophy :)

  • @03Horsepower lol calm down son Everybody knows a crown vic can't beat a marauder. His car is MODDED. CALM DOWN

  • @oldgateway well look at my other marauder vs vic video and you will be disapointed to realize that they run mid to low 15.s wich is what most 04 p71 can run

  • @p71c1 why would I be disappointed I like both cars. I have an 03PI myself. I was just trying to calm him down. He mad because a crown vic is beating a marauder which is suppose to win.

  • @03Horsepower actualy when i was stock my car ran 15.2 all day long wich is pretty much what most marauder will run stock if it's not like mid 15,s .

That being said the marauder only need a better torque converter minor bolts on and a good tune tu run mid to low 14's all day long.

The 4v engine has lot more potential but definatly lack low end torque

still an awsome car that just need a little improvement

  • @03Horsepower dude if you own a marauder you know that on a 1/4 track there is nothing to brag abouth..your car really shines on the highway where nobody cant toutch it

  • This is a two nice Panther platform cars duking it out. If both cars had automatic transmission, the Marauder would have won, as the 32 valve cobra engine will outperform the 2 Valve SOHC regular mustang engine. Because you have a modified crown VIC, with a 5 speed, is why you have an easy 2 second advantage over the Marauder.

  • you did good with your vic

  • If the Marauder knew hot to drive it would have won; it has 50 more HP.

  • The marauder dosent shine under 4k rpms while I can compensate for my 50 hp short by making torque lot more faster than him.

If you would had pay attention abouth the times he was only.1 slower thant me ....it looks worst because he has a slow time reaction that is all

  • You can't compensate for 50 HP with reving a little higher. In 1/4 mile tests the Maurader is about .7 seconds faster.

Dream on buddy. 50 Hp is a lot..

  • the marauder is abouth .7 faster than what...a slow civilian crown vic with 2.73 r.a.r

  • I'm prettry sure he meant the P71, and I believe him.

  • On a 1/4 mile run .... and it's even worst on a 1/8mile run. He is stock while I'm not.

look on mercury marauder forum for timeslips of their member...you would be surprise how the same car in stock trim can be as fast and as slow.

  • I'm not saying that I rev higher than him to win a race I'm saying that I gat in the powerband sooner than him.

look at mercurymarauder forums and check theirs timeslip they can be as slow as they can be fast you would be surprise

  • Can you send me a link to anything that provides proof of a timeslip.

  • Dont get me wrong the marauder is an awsome car and two of my friends own one so I know what i'm talking abouth theses cars.

They are not oriented for 1/4 mile performance but rather speed racing use this is were they really shine and can show their full potential.

  • LOL p71c1, you are seriously saying you can beat a Marauder with 50 more horsepower, by reving higher :) Maybe if it reved 4,000 Rpm's higher but I own a Marauder 04 and it revs over 5k. I buddy works at Stokes Auction he said the p-71 recs at about 6k. No way enough for compensate 50 horses

  • i'm not saying it I did it twice agains this guy.Despite his slow reaction my 60ft in both case was.2 faster.

He is stock but i'm not...5 speed manual tune underdrive pulley 3.73 rar.

  • @p71c1 I kinda though you ran 373's, thats how you got up so fast, swap for a T-lock also? I swap my 273's with 390's, it makes a hell of a difference!!!

  • @SecularTechnology . He has a higher rear gear: 3.73:1 and also a 5 speed transmission, not an automatic. The 32 Valve engine would normally be faster, but also, reaction time is involved and it's not a stock-to-stock comparison test.

  • crown vics had p.i. heads 2001 and up

  • Yes and that boosted there HP to 250HP not 302 like the Mercury had

  • first no fing way a 98 crown vic stock can beat a maruder the marauder stock is pushing 302+ horses on a big block 4.6 liter and ur 98 crown vic 178 with a big block 4.6-4.7 liter no way u win

  • 4.7 liter???? all panthers are 4.6

the marauder is dohc long block, the sohc crown vics are long block too.

the 04 vic uses the marauder 80 mm maf and after the 04 the 05 vics used a different style throttle body. most ppl like the 04 best

  • exactly what i was thinking

  • @craigcbang94 what are you talking about dood, he never even said the vic was stock it's manual with a tr3650 5 sp tranny out of a mustang, the vic and marauders both have the same engines, 4.6l. His vic was an 04 also, get your facts straight before you comment.

  • You should get your facts straight too before comments cause the marauder might have the same displacement (4.6) but it's a 32v instead of 16 v for the crown vic.

By the way craigbang94 was replying to the comments left by tuggswagga918 whe nhe dreamed he beat a marauder....

  • i realized that he was commenting tuggswagga918 after reading more of the comments, so yea its my fault for be a jerk. and your right about the 32v since the marauder actually is running a big block engine vs the crown vic's long block engine.

  • I didnt say you were a jerk....

    Shit happens

  • I know you didn't call me one, I just assumed that I was being one.

  • @craigcbang94 Big block? Do you even know what a big block is?

  • MAN I BEAT A Marauder A COUPLE OF DAYS GO IN MY 98 VIC

  • unless your 98 is modified there is no chance for you to beat a marauder unless he was willing you to win or was not really racing

  • Its not modified and he line up and got that azz handed 2 him and I beat a mustang gt b4 that all they have is a 4.6 marauder weak..

  • i'm very very curious to know how you did that specialy if you say that you beat a mustang gt ...98 vic with the non pi heads are probably the slowest vic ever made sorry but i do not buy this

  • Wow! He ate that Maurauder alive. So sick...

I gotta do this to my p71.

  • well..not really...

i was only .1 faster than him...it looks worst for him

because the guy was sleeping at the light

  • YIKES! The Maurauder Is An adversary But DUDE that Crown VIC is AWESOME! Nice job

  • thanks for the nice comments

  • Nice run man. Do you have a tach in your car? It sounds like the motor wants to rev a little higher. Try stretching it out a little more before you shift. Also I would think that a 4.10 gear would be a bit better for a big heavy vic. That five speed has apreety tall overdrive, it shouldn't affect your gas mileage to much.

  • I have a marauder cluster so yes i have a tach. I was a little too scared with the 4.10 so i went with 3.73 but i know after all that i should have went with 4.10.

It was my first time at the drag with a manual so i'm still getting used to it...i'll bring the car on a dyno to see it's power band

  • Oh, ok. I ask because most 4.6 SOHC engines with the P.I. heads, cams and intake like to rev around 6k or so. Yours is an 04, so you should have the P.I. engine. Oh, and in case you don't know, when I say P.I., I don't mean Police Interceptor, I mean Performance Improved. 99 and newer 2v mustangs have this engine, as does the 04 and newer Crown Vics. Hope this helps lower the et's a bit.

  • thanks for the info but i know what PI stands for lol

  • Hey man, Like the car. Do you have a tach? Do you know what RPM,s your shifting at? It sounds like the motor want's to rev a little higher. Also I would think that a 4.10 gear would be better for a vic.

  • Nice race looks like the marauder didn't have a chance... What kinda mods do you have?

  • well he was sleeping at the light so it didnt help but in fact hw was only .100 slower than me if you look into the vids info.

Mods are 5 speed manual transmion 3.73 rar and ud pulley and a tune.

  • nice vid. I actually plan on building up a crown vic as my next car just to be different. I already have a 5.4 modular v8 with the HPS intake that was in my mustang I'd like to stick in it.

  • i seen alot of your vids , and that car shifts real violent!! clean sleep71...

  • Thank you very much for your nice comments i really appreciate.

  • Like I said a vic is better. lol

  • Now imagine the Merc with the stick.... Both awesome cars. Shows that big American V8 cars can still hold their own.

  • Crown Victoria has a small block V-8 not a big.
