The lower CG of the open had the location as Stanford, California when in fact Stanford stadium is located in Palo Alto, California on the campus of Stanford University. Nice to see the old Stanford stadium in its glory back in the day.
No one seems to have Super Bowl XXII posted...and that's still my favorite Super Bowl open. That seminal MNF theme with those Bronco and Redskin helmets. It felt larger than life to me.
@cbaldwinjr It's in the queue and, in fact, I'll be posting it within the next couple of weeks. It's third in line behind some '93 halftime highlights and Super Bowl XXI's open and closes. Keep checking back!
@tbone24100 USC's LA Memorial Colosseum hosted a couple Super Bowls as well! Including one of my favorite ones, Super Bowl 1 where my Packers beat the Chiefs in the 1st ever SB game!!

I never realize that the 49ers had home field advantage in this superbowl, literally. 2015 will be another SB in SF new stadium in santa clara.

The last college stadium to host a Super Bowl was Sun Devil Stadium in Arizona back in 1996.

I doubt you'll ever see a college stadium host a Super Bowl again, unless it's the Rose Bowl. And even that hasn't been done now in almost 20 years.

@tbone24100 Never forget the Rose Bowl! That place held a lot of Super Bowls around the time this one was held.

@Trainking922 yeppers, and this was the Stanford Stadium BEFORE they overhauled it too.

Thank God ESPN can't ruin this one.

Can you imagine if ESPN on ABC did a Super Bowl ON ABC!!!
I want to see the MNF crew do it... Mike Tirico will be great!

@jlthrift
Won't happen. The contract is very explicitly with ESPN not ABC.

@paulsonj72
They'll have to make an exception for it. A contract can always be changed.
The NFL won't allow a Super Bowl on cable!
