fira is really fire2 and firaga is fire3. I think i know y they chnged the american version which is that to that version. but anyways fighting is easy. Just summon chocobo and that's that. I tried attacking it and it uses counter every time u hit it, which is bad. That's where u use all of your cure1s and cure2. I think five hits would do it for summoning chocobo. And rydia doesn't learn fire, not until she melts the ice blocking the path on mt hobbs.

It was originally Fire, Fira and Firaga in the Japanese Super Famicom version. It was only called Fire1, Fire2 and Fire3 in the US SNES version; one of its many translation errors.

It seems that it only counters phycals when his eyes are white and only magic when the eyes are red in the DS release.

I like that they made the game harder, in the original version you got hit for about 7% of your health from the bosses, even less from regular enemies.

Having it be possible to die from regular enemies puts some strategy into the game, which I like because now I can think of creative ways to beat the bosses.

Why did they have to make the DS version harder? I liked it the way it was. granted i'm basing this off of other people's opinions since i haven't played the ds version. but from what i've heard, they basically just took all the bosses, and gave them steroids.

lol. basing it off what you've heard. No dude, the SNES ones are WAY tougher. I have died about 3 times throughout the game, whole party dying, game over that is, and that was at the scarmiglione second form battle, against golbez, and lugae. I'm already up to the part where Edge joins the group, and still no complications. Try it before you say "baww it's harder"

My characters were as follows, and I took him out in about 3 rounds, disregarding his eye color, just wailing away (that'd be my advice):

Cecil - 20

Rydia - 18

Edward - 13

2-10.attack until darkness goes out, then use it again.

Forget about edward, as rydia said to him in the vid, he's a coward. Anyway, wen the antlion's eyes r white use rydia's blizzard. As for cecil, wen the eyes r white use defense until they turn red, because then he cant counter u and the same goes for rydia wen they're white.

I just got upt to this boss today. I was way to weak and get a serious ass beating by this boss. I blame myself, Cecil, Rydia and Edward are way to weak, and I don't have Life's Anthem. Man, this is much harder than the GBA port.
