Yeah. Soundwave gets quite a few lines and he gets quite a'bit of screentime. Although you probably won't be too happy with his performance when he actually fights. I'm sure you already saw it by now.

Not only should they have used a vocoder, but having Frank Welker dubb all versions of the film outside the US was a pretty lame idea too. Seriously, hearing SW speak in a strong american accent really turned me down! Hope they made up for it with Dotm...

my guess is they wanted to make soundwave more menacing, but THIS is pretty menacing, and keeps the monotone voice from g1. everyone would have been happy!

@MrSonic5 That would be Frank Welker, Soundwave's original voice actor who also did the voices for Megatron, Mirage, most of Soundwave's minicons, and other characters in the G1 series.

I'm pretty sure Bay didn't choose not to just because he's an ass, like some people say. I'd like to ask it myself, wonder if he got the feeling that a robot that dimensions with a vocoded voice vs. the rest of the cast voices felt too out of place.

However, if Welker's voicing Soundwave on DOTM game, he better is vocoded :P

@Kraahkan Actually, Frank Welker wanted Soundwave to have the dr. claw-voice to sound more intimidating, but he did use a little bit of vocoder.

THAT is Soundwave's TRUE voice! Frakking AWESOME! Thank you for posting this. Soundwave was my number 1 bot from G1 and remains so to this day. While I was extremely happy to hear Frank Welker's voice in that honored and rightful place again, I was very disappointed that he did not have his electronic tone. That was the thing that was so unique about him and literally MADE the character stand apart from the rest.
