Movies like The Fly actually stick with you after you watch them because they're disturbing on a deeper level(the degradation of a man slowly losing sanity as he turns into a repulsive creature). Something horror movie producers need to start paying attention to.

1986 is the year when monster movies began to look real & had a great pace throughout the whole movie. I know some people gonna say: Are you fucking kidding me?? your retarded asshole! As many changes as Brundle went through, the only thing that didn't change was his intellect - he was still very much intact mentally, all the way up till the last five minutes of the film where he completed the transition to a fly. In a lot of scenes when he was pretty sick, he was still able to completely understand and explain the changes that were happening to him, and even managed to change the program and make his teleporter a complete splicer. Not too shabby imo.

This however just fills me with a sort of loathing for the creator. As awesome and disgusting as this movie is, there are some things I don't understand.

A) How can something as small as a fly change the body so much. Sure, Seth and the fly were spliced/fused, but Seth is a full-grown man and it was just a tiny fly. Could the genetic alteration had been THAT groundbreaking?

B) Why, after going through the telepod with the fly, did it go from human to hybrid, rather than starting from Fly, THEN gone to hybrid?
