I was waiting for the section at 2.11 here and it was below what i expected and rest of it you did fabulously, i believe you have definitely improved the cover since then.
Dude, that was an awesome job. You had the feel, and the pocket down perfectly. Enjoyed it all the way through. Although, it angers me to see that 10 people didn't like this video. Can you say Crackhead?
Great playing man, Question: I downloaded the Tal CD from ITunes because I literally fell in love w/ her watching the Jeff Beck Blue Ray (Vinnie, you lucky Dawg...).. the track ur playing has drums on it already, did you find a version minus drums, or are you playing on top of the existing drum track? I don't hear the backing track underneath your playing, it's seamless. Great job, very impressive.
I just fckg love an excellent drummer!! Put all the posted nitpicking criticism aside....and know...YOU'VE GOT IT! Don't stop; the people need good music.
dude....this is awesome....great f'n job....totally awesome....can't believe this is the first time i saw you....i'm subscribing! and I'm not even a drummer! (love the drums though) keep it coming....
I think you're a mar-vel-lous drummer, Chris! I'm a huge fan of Tal and her songs (me bassplayer). Her compositions are intelligent but spontaneous, played with th heart, with love for music and performing. She's - spoken like Jeff Beck, who gave her opportunities and presented her to a large audience - a supertalent. You perfectly feel the/her groove, the changes, details...Tal should be flattered and proud! Are you a pro? I guess so! Best regards, Arthur, The Netherland
As a drummer for 30 years and enthralled with what Tal is doing it's just fantastic to see a young player playing real music! Great job! A little out of sync after 2:04 for a while but man you got it!!
hey man, do you turn ur computer off before you turn off your pro fire? Or turn the profire off first? The manual says to turn the profire on before putting the computer on, but when i do this my computer doesn't recognize the profire correctly and it leads to output issues, when i turn the profire on when the computer is already turned on, it works fine.
your sound and playing are great! One criticism though. I think during the solos (especially the piano one) you are overplaying a little bit. Maybe would have been nicer to let up a little and let us hear the solos. Overwise, this is awesome!
I have never seen such fluid, natural and exciting drumming as this - I salute you sir! You surely have a golden career ahead of you - use your talent!!!!
I find it difficult to believe that someone that plays for only a couple of years has such a drumkit cause that's no cheap stuff hmm.. guess i'm just jealous :s ohh your good too
I don't often comment on videos, but I am very impressed with your attention to detail as well as overall syncopation. Phenomenal job !!!! If you don't play for a living - you should.

Oh my god.. I`m something like that right now... :O :O :)) I don`t know what to say... but man... you have great skills...after 2 years... just Wow ... did you learn alone... or with a teacher? I will wait... your answerd because you are amazing :D. Great Sound, Great Played and Great DRUMS. Keep up the good work. 5 stars
thanks for checking me out :) I did this video almost a year ago, and it was everything i could do just to BS my way through the song! My hands were probably pretty cramped afterwards, no doubt. I've definitely progressed in that area, but still a ways to go (as far as LOOKING loose, in addition to playing loose)
You say you've only been playing two years on this video, bullshit I don't believe that. You are a good player but playing like that at two years is normally not possible
Excellent technique. Great use of wrist versus arm. One suggestion, Try using one mic in the middle of the mounted toms instead of one on each. you'll get less phase cancellation, it's amazing what a difference it makes. Try it & post what you think.
You had a sonor S-class pro and u'd been playing for just under 2 years?? You are very lucky! And a good choice. I didn't have a kit until i'd been playing for 4 years, might have helped if i did! Very impressive by the way.
Dude your going places you have lots of talent. Let me know how dinner goes with Tal. I would just order for her and sit there and watch her eat. That would satisfy me.
You really understand this song well! Great job! Jazz/Fusion isn't easy...not just straight forward drumming...lots of complex changes and each instrument is equally important to make the music work. You nailed it brotha!
Dude, I've been offered a S class kit for a decent price and have been umming and ahing about for some time.. This clip (and your others) has convinced me to take up the offer. Can't wait to get my hands on it now! Cheers matey :)
wow.. you have a wonderful playing style, it looks great! do you mind if i ask - you seem to hold the sticks quite low down.. i have a natural tendency to do that but try not to because my teacher tells me i won't find the fulcrum or whatever.. is that bollocks?
thanks :) i don't really feel like it's anything special, especially my grip! That ties into your question about the fulcrum point - It's something i'm constantly aware of, and trying to work on. If you're hitting hard with a closed grip, more than likely you're playing towards the low end of the sticks. More weight, more power, but you're almost entirely using your wrists for those motions. An open, loose, higher-up grip is difficult to master, because it forces you to use your fingers.
I think you sound great and have nice fluid mechanics. In fact I saw Keith Carlock with Tal and Krantz recently and am more impressed by you HERE than I was of Mr. Carlock. My only question is - do you really need that many cymbals? I recently saw Eric Slick w/ the Adrian Belew Power Trio playing a VERY basic kit (tom, standing tom, snare, hi-hat, crash and ride) and his performance was one of the most impressive I've seen of a young drummer in YEARS. You seem to have the ability to do similarly
cool - you have a very nice sound. It seems (from my perspective as bass player) many drummers unfortunately don't care too much about how they sound..
agreed! it's also relatively difficult to get a drum set to sound REALLY good, since there are so many different variations of kits and heads, and it really takes a while to understand what you (as the drummer) want your kit to sound like. Along with that, tuning is a difficult thing to wrap your head around! There truly are thousands of combinations, and really no "right" way to do it. Just trust your ears :)

For your information, i've worked my ass off to afford everything you see here...nobody's given me ANYTHING, and i've gone above and beyond my own financial resources to pursue what i care about. anything else you want to tear down?
hey men nice if can help you im just read your description of the video im when i play latin styles i use the clave in two compases instead one thats were part of the swing is i dnt know if that can help you in latin styles i know this piece its like funky style just for help. Well i think you play awesome if you like latins feels at 6/8 i have a bunch of styles in that compases like bembe, san millan, gaita, joropo, and manny manny more y have even rythyms at 5/8 sorry about my english. XD
drummers and all musicains take note everything in music should come from the heart and with no rite or wrong just play and be heard....fuck politics that people are trying to put in music just do ya dayuum thing ya diggzz no matter what it takes keep at it..... FrOm A bLaC yOuNg NiGgAh great play brah...!!!!! ya did it with ya own twist and u did it without double kick hahaha my man
Ok. Good God. At 1:36, you have perfect sound on every single freakin thing. You should be proud of that shit. The music opens up perfectly for that ride with a sizzler on it. Favorite part of the whole bit. Good job on the rest though too.
Great drumming keep going

Ok. Good God. At 1:36, you have perfect sound on every single freakin thing. You should be proud of that shit. The music opens up perfectly for that ride with a sizzler on it. Favorite part of the whole bit. Good job on the rest though too.

Great playing there, mate. I think your set is somehow a bit aggressive for this kind of music though. Cheers
