Many women use birth control for medical reasons other than just a method of contraception. @KAJN94 We won't do that, because there is no reason for it. Sex is an important part of our relationship. Yours is a very narrow view that sees sex as something that's wrong outside marriage. I see it as something completely normal in everyday life, like going out to a movie, hiking, talking on the phone. It is only one small part of our relationship, but a very important one. Your body evolved to have sex, denying that is absurd.

@whatthehellpeople People who have sex have a higher divorce rate though. A guy who doesn't save sex for marriage as a 63% higher divorce rate than the guy who does wait. And the woman that does not wait has a 73% higher divorce rate. 99% of the marriage in which sex was saved for marriage work. For those that don't the divorce rate is over 60%! He believes that condoning gay marriage or any gay sexual interaction is comparable to condoning sodomy, child sexual abuse, bestiality, and other unsavory activities. This view is consistent with his statements on contraception since sodomy, bestiality, and gay sex are all effective means of contraception. I too am catholic, and my husband and I had eight children, but then I put on the brakes- BY USING BIRTH CONTROL! This fool has no idea what it would be like if women did not have access to birth control or other services that concern women's health. Yes, &that reason is they live far longer than their ancestors did. Regularly living far past 40 is something completely new, as far as our genetics are concerned. Our distant ancestors, &our non-H. Sapiens ancestors never knew that luxury -why build a model that will last for 2, 3 times its projected lifespan, when the organism neednt be perfect, just good enough to live long enough to produce &successfuly raise kids?

@ptbwf Human beings have sex to continue the species of homo sapiens but also for pleasure. Therefore it is wise to wear a condom or for the girl to go on the pill. This is common sense. When having sex with a new partner it is wise for the man to wear a condom in order to protect himself and her from possible stds. If the relationship continues and each person is clear of stds then the girl can use the pill until she & he want children. Simple logic my fellow primate.

@ptbwf Birth control is a way to be responsible about sex. Being able to take a pill once a day or use a condom makes the risk of having a child that you don't want go down. You can't just tell people not to have sex either. It's an important part of a relationship and no one is going to want to give that up.
