  • We were ask to serve 20+ years and in return upon retireing we would recieve free health care for us and our family for life. We served 20+ years only to see the promise broken.

Now it seems we may loose our medicare if congress does not act by march first.

    MSgtBaird

  • Here they give the retired veteran a system that is as bad as medicare. More and more doctors are avoiding this system because it pays poorly while

our congress members get the best medical in the country and retirement where their wives get half of what they made but its not out of the members retirement, its on top of it. Now I here

they want to have a deductible co-pay that takes money out of the retired members pocket to get medical.

  • the Indian tribes have never once had honored or given what was promised to them; instead it went into the politicians pocketbooks; the mentality is THIS: the PEOPLE must PAY! NOTHING in the USA is done for the people. Cleverly TRICKING the people by saying it is THIS (or communism); NOT TRUE: always lies; should be called deception, & dictatorship. While claiming no $ they live & laugh at fooling the public so much they want to take it globally. They RULE not Govern, & everything is for GREED;

  • During WW2, at war selling bonds film, it showed damaged planes being swept overboard: but also the planes without damage. Every generation after that either buried thousands of items at sea (brand new) or dug huge holes in desert to bury them, so Pentagon pirates could claim "need more $"; this was carried down from Fed, to St, to county, to city. Discarding items so could claim "needed more" tax payers $; always they have lost millions & billions of equipment: it never got sent. paper only.

  • democracy means run by the will of the people; the representitives are to do the WILL OF THE PEOPLE; not their own hidden agendas; they have not listened to the people for a very long time. They may put laws on the books but they are only for looks; not enforced. When the LAWS go, comes tyranny. Woodrow Wilson, Pres during WW1, lamented THEN that we were no longer the free, nor even of majority vote, but rather under the dictates & rules of a handful of dominant men.

  • Now with the democrats in power the military will be screwed to the hilt.

  • What would be the difference? We have been screwed since I can remember USN Retired 1971 to 1995.

  • If our government obeyed the constitution, there would be plenty of money to support Military retiree's earned benefits.

  • I am submitting a video above. Pay particular attention to two men standing behing two Dallas Police Officers ( 1 minute 31 seconds) one of the men is Phil Ochs legendary folk singer who was sent to Dallas to be an observer to the assassination of JFK. Phil Ochs yeaars later was found dead of an apparent hanging suicide. I wonder.....

  • It's past time for Congress to step into the 21st Century. If they want to continue to get 1% of this country's citizens to serve, stop stabbing their veterans in the back! It would be wise for them to recall the words of our Founding Father George Washington, "The willingness with which our young people are to serve in any war, no matter how justified, shall be directly proportional to how they perceive the veterans of earlier wars were treated and appreciated by our nation."

  • Outstanding presentation, as you stated, it's all about money, the congress would rather take care of the welfare folks than keep its promise to veterans and military retirees.

  • Ah, ppiual, are you sure you posted in the right place?

  • Who is not a vet?

  • Rhab35, you never answered any of the questions your posts brought up. I'm retired military, have diabetes from agent orange in Vietnam, malaria, lost the use of my right leg, have limited use of my left arm and wrist, but I don't draw 100% disability. I was promised all the medical care for the rest of my life too. We didn't get it, so get over it. Would I do it over again, damn right I would. Just so whiners like you could have the right to whine. Now go wipe your tears and man up.

  • This is just another drop in the bucket. Our system now works against us more and more every day. There's no laws to protect us from the criminals we've voted in office. How could we as a nation and a people allow this to happen to us? And where do we go from here? How can remove power from the special interest groups? And empower the american people again. LET US PRAY.

  • Along with the Uniformed Services Former Spouse Protection Act that was back-dated by Congress to circumvent the USSC decision of McCarty v. McCarty, 1981, which ruled states could NOT treat military retired pay as community property, there's no wonder why the Department of Defense keeps it so secret. DOD will never get my two sons.

  • opa john Rhab 35 complaioning regarding the pay her recieved after his married in the service, he should have known he had to contributed to the class q Alotment, so quit crying.

  • rhab35 Did you get out with any disability? If not, how does your nerves collapsing FOUR year later in the inactive reserve qualify you for lifetime treatment? Are you a feet on the ground combat vet? Your statement, in all capital letters, makes no sense to me. Can you clear that up?

  • ElGrandinquisitor (3 hours ago) Show Hide 0 Marked as spam Reply | Spam Shut up. Its about Vets you moron, nobody wants to hear your brain-dead rant. Stupid Bush-sucker

Which post brought on the Bushy-sucker comments? You lost me.

  • Check out "micsc 50's" comment about "Vet care is Government health care by the democRATs" as he puts it. Sorry, Vets deserve better than some idiot turning the issue into political B.S. Scroll down to one day ago on view all comments. Right there

  • Elect people who hate government; get a government that hates people.

  • I served 20 yrs (77-97) and I was never told that I would have to pay for TriCare each yr so I could get med care for myself and my dependents. I heard the BS each time I considered re-enlistment that if I stay for "20", I would be taken care of. Now with a lot of doctors not even taking TriCare and the fact that The feds are paying the ones that take TriCare less and less this is BS. TriCare covers little. My son can't hear, but TriCare will not cover hearing Aids for Retiree Dependants.

  • Both my parents were retired military and my husband is retired military - all have made comments on their shabby treatment when it comes to medical care. Being the wife of a retired military man, I feel through my pocketbook the pain the military has inflicted by breaking their promise and "the greatest swindle of all time".

  • rhab35, you were told that you would receive medical care for the rest of your life if you RETIRED with at least 20 years service. Are all you problems related to the military? If so you are probably entitled to care, for service connected disablities, but not for anything that happens to you for the rest of you life.

  • No, not true. We are told that when you get discharged with an HONORABLE ALL of your medical will be taken care of.Yes I have read the FINE print since then as ordered to do. It says'YOU MAY BE TREATED FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DISABILITY OVER 50% BUT ONLY FOR WHAT THE DISABILITY IS FROM'You cannot be treated for anything other. I served 4 active, 4 inactive and my nerves collapsed in 1960 in the 7th year of my obligiation. But the CONTRACT says, 'CAUSED OR AGGRAVITATED BY' the military service,whya500?

  • rhab35. Your not retired military

  • YOU have to remember our HERO EISENHOWER changed a lot of things for the military. He took away our free life insurance and started withholding social security and did not give us a raise. It really set me & my wife back. She got $137.10 a month & I got $41.55. When you get married in the military they pay the wife and screw you. I do not know how it is if the WIFE is the MILITARY one. REX

  • I agree you are getting screwed I'm a vet myself. But lets be honest you are told congress can change the rules any time they like on anything to do with your service or retirement.

vote them out run for office

  • I was told that ALL medical would be taken care of the REST OF MY LIFE, AIR FORCE 1953 -57. Now I am 100% Disabled and I still cannot get all of my treatment. They & the American Legion says the fine print keeps you out EXCEPT for whay you are disabled for. REX

  • I just gave the facts Congress can change the rules any time on anything

I did not say it was right or fair. and it just shows what it will be like if they take over all health care

    then everyone will be screwed.

good luck and thanks for your service.

  • How can you only give 4 years to the military and expect them to pay for your medical your whole life? Why don't you hold your other years jobs responsible? Your health and the disabilities you aquire in a life time can not be linked to just the 4 short years you spent in the military. It's the total of all the abuse you inflicted on your body throughout your whole life during all your jobs and leisure activities.

  • Because in that four years if called on to defend

the country we put our life on the line so that people like you who never served their country can live a free life. The stress encountered in the military is unlike any that you'll find in the civilian sector and you cannot just walk away if you decide you don't like it. Do us a favor and

join, do your enlistment then come back and

    give us your opinion.

  • Are you talking to me??? I served 20 years... Why should you get paid for the rest of your life for 4 short years, unless you recieve a life changing combat injury. Yes I experienced 20 years of that stress. You did walked away after only serving 4 years.

  • No, I am not talking to you but to others who didn't serve enough to retire. I served nine years active and another four to five drilling in the Army, Navy, and Air Force Reserves. I get medical because of a degenerative injury that has rendered me unable to do common tasks. Most people think that to sit back and get paid would be great but truth is its very

    depressing.

  • Are you brain-injured also? Since WHEN in the last 60 years has the US been attacked, necessitating a military defense of the US mainland? The several dozen wars, conflicts, interventions, low-intensity conflict, invasions etc the US has fought have been to further criminal frauds and corporate theft. IF you had 1/10th the moral integrity you claim to have you wouldn't have participated in ANY of the US's criminal wars that have only made the world more dangerous, destabilizied & insecure.

  • Voting doesn't work.

  • If our government obeyed the constitution, we wouldn't be fighting costly and pointless wars against nations that are no no threat to us or never attacked us. If our government obeyed the constitution it would close the borders and deport all illegal aliens instead of giving them tax payer supported benefits. If our government obeyed the constitution there would be no foreign aid to parasitic nations like Israel, who dishonor the US, and commit murder in our name.

  • All that he says is true. I was told the exact same thing when I enlisted in Aug 1952. I retired on Feb 1974. At one time they said they would pay our medicare payments under TFL which was also another lie.

  • Your 22 years count alot more than his short 4 years.

  • I don't regret a day of it.

  • This is deplorable and unless Americans wake up and take more notice of those we put in office and what they're doing once they get in there. There are sites to keep us up on how these legislators and other government officals are voting and just what these bills are...................we need to wake up and demand our government be a government, OF THE PEOPLE AND FOR THE PEOPLE, and it has not been for many years.........It is a government for special interests.......and their money

  • I served from 1959 to 1979 and was told all the same lies.

  • 20 years is a retirement. Medical for life should not be for a short 4 years.

  • My moms on active duty nearing 20 years she is full bird. One cousin on active duty, One cousin got out of USAF after six years to go to college. I am outraged. We MUST fix this shit NOW. Fuck ASAP. NOW!!!!

  • Please, let's keep the language civil, no profanity. Thanks.

  • fuck you!!!!!

  • I will say this, I am pro-obama, But he does not fix this shit I am never going to vote for him again. John MCcain should be leading the charge on this issue why isnt he. I really dont know i'm not being sarcastic. WTF, Man this is bullshit. I strongly believe if you do a 20 year bit in the military you should recive benifits for life. Now your spouse should as well. I am flexable on children over 18 but shit man we cant leave vets high and dry. Thanks for the info.

  • I thank everyone that has posted a comment. Let's keep it going. Tell everybody you know about this YouTube swindle movie, including your Representatives staff members.

Floyd Sears, MSGT, USAF, 1951 to 1971 (retired)

  • And to think people will vote for a candidate that wants the federal government to handle their health care! Folks listen up this is the government sponsored health care the democRATS are proposing its a fraud!

  • Shut up. Its about Vets you moron, nobody wants to hear your brain-dead rant. Stupid Bush-sucker

  • I can see the truth hurts.

  • Your obviously not a Vet. And your imagining things. This has nothing to do with universal health care.

  • How am I imagining things? This is what we will get with the government handling our health care. Don't be stupid, Stupid!!!

  • No Dumbass, Va Benefits have been whittled away over the last eight years It wasn't always this bad. But your no Vet and you suck as an "American" Why not try not being ignorant of the facts.

  • It's time to clean house in Washington and start with a fresh bunch.

  • I agree 100%. I retired from the USAF in 1992 after 20 years and I have seen the deterioration of the military veteran/retiree health care system since I left the USAF. A recent example is the continued desire by DoD to increase Tricare premiums by huge amounts. We have very few veterans in the US Congress and Executive branch anymore - which is a big part of the problem.

    Scott Eckert

    USAF, Ret (1972-1992)

  • He's absolutely right: That's what we were told, and we naturally considered that in return for our service we would have our medical care provided after retirement. Considering how we are treated by our government, why should the men & women now serving in our military think they will be treated any better?

  • This is true. I retired from the Navy in Feb 78. Although I have not had trouble with it myself, I have heard of a lot of veterans who have. Especially veterans from Vietnam and from Iraq. I think it is a shame to have to embarrass the politicians to get proper medical care for our veterans who are still in the hospital. The people responsible for this should be ashamed.

  • An outstanding presentation by a dedicated former career military veteran.

  • This is true, I was a recruiter during this time and I was told that anyone serving 20+ years would receive health care for life this included those who retired from the reserves also, though the Reserves would start at age 60.

  • democracy has become the most despicable name on the planet due to the lies, deception, & forced enslavement of it's citizens; it is rated the worst in the world amongst other nations; & the citizens are viewed as slaves; this simply confirms the Iraqi's complaint that the same US Corp's & set up Gov as here are dictatorship, & the graft, corruption hundreds of times worse than under Saddam Hussain; no WMD, no connection with Al Quieda found in exhaustive search Bush said dysfunctional is USA.

  • You're right.

The US was established by our founding fathers as a Constitutional Republic, not a democracy.

Democracy is a form of communism. Democracy is a mob led by a dictator. Unfortunately that is what our nation has become today.

Those giving you the thumbs down are either neocons or clueless sheeple. Unfortunately most veterans fall into the latter group.

  • If our government obeyed the constitution we would be a republic, not a democracy where aliens are encouraged to cross the borders illegally so they eventually outnumber us and vote to get more government benefits for themselves.

  • The Broken Promise issue directly affects nearly 1.4 million former career military veterans and their families. Former & current Presidents and the Congress should hang their heads in shame. The Military Retiree did their job - the Executive & Congressional leadership should honor the promise made to these veterans who served the country honorably and faithfully. Paul Balaich USA/USAF 3/46 - 8/68.
