@ajonster Because of Desmond, Desmond told his visions to Charlie and Desmond saved Charlie many times and in the end he said that the Universe always finds a way to kill Charlie no matter how long Desmond keeps saving. As Penny was talking to Charlie that guy with the Grenade destroyed the glass and that would have killed both Charlie and Desmond. Charlie knew that the Universe will always find a way to kill Charlie so he decided to die.

I'm assuming the missing #10 and #4 were jack, sun, jin (and sayid?). I know many people don't like Shannon, but I still thought her death was pretty intense.
Charlie's list was one of the best things ever. If I could have anything from the Lost set, it would've been the original list Charlie wrote out before he died. :(
Totally agree on this one as Number One. Your Top 30 was put together nicely, just that a few of the deaths were left out, like Sun and Jin's and even Jack's. Besides those, some older ones were left out like Carl and Rousseau's or Martin's or one of my favorites Ethan. Still great job overall AND THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR NOT PUTTING IN JACOB'S DEATH. That SUCKED so much.
i cried when i watched this.... so many years ago. and i havent watched lost since. this was actually the last episode i watched because i lost interest for some reason.... i watch it today.. i dont even know how many years later... 4 years? ... 17 now... and tears still fall from my eyes
couldn't he have swam through the window that got blown up once the room was filled and water stopped pouring in? i guess that would have been anti-climactic. RIP lost.
@tymast the water pressure make it hard to even get close to the window, I proposed that he should just jump out of the room and lock it from outside. but he was convinced that he had to die there to save clarie.

yes, but, the water still would have been flowing in, a current leading inside and out side, so it would have been impossible for him to swim out, but nother less. Charlie's death was by far the saddest character death i have ever seen on tv

@tymast the holes/windows in submarines are usually really small, and charlie probably couldn't fit in the window =( and because of the pressure and how deep he was~ his lungs would most likely burst.
I guess Desmond's vision of Clarie in the helicopter was wrong. Poor Charlie died thinking he was getting rescue for Claire when actually him bringing Widmore's people to the Island set in motion the events that led to Claire getting separated from Aaron and being left behind to become crazy jungle woman! Poor Charlie got gypped!

What kills me (pun not intended) is that both he and Desmond could have made it out if they acted quick enough. Or to say the least, Charlie could have got out of the room and THEN locked the door. Charlie would still be alive, Claire wouldn't be "ill" and Aaron would have two parents instead of a grandmother. Oh, Charlie. How we miss you.
