  • Genotype v. Phenotype. Simple as grammar school science lessons. Other than one typo in the end, I'm on board. Thanks

  • brilliant !

  • power 2 the people write/right on

Sing on Beautiful people - you are the future :-)

my hat is off 2 each and everyone of you :-)

in my veins is one blood - universal blood :-)

good morning - good afternoon - good night - wherever you are in our universal family we call home :-)

I totally agree I'm from Japan

  • "Race: A political construct created (by whites) to separate human beings for economic purposes."

  • there are europeans and chinese that came out of caves recently.....the blacks are the humans......we know it now....dont be fooled by the everyones the same lie

  • I repudiate this argument. OK sure, there is no "pure" race, we all have some genetic influence from one another, very little variation. Scientifically we are all descendants from the same woman, but how "pure" is the human species? if we did infact evolve from apes? science suggests we share 98% of the same dna with apes, therefore the human species is in fact not pure from the apes. All races and species is in some way rellated, but w/ time and evolution they change, each race is unique

  • I am not sure on what basis you repudiate the argument when you accept as true the basis for the argument. We now know that there was never a scientific basis for race so your comment that each race is unique needs a bit more clarification.

  • Humans came from a single cell not from a woman.

    Al humans are related.

Skin colour cannot determine race that is a racists wishful thinking.

  • This video is 100% pure unadulterated bullshit...

  • I can back up every point in this video. If you think you know better, make your case. Read the comments, you wont be the first to challenge the video without knowing what you are talking about.

  • Why would a skin colour change in humans enhance intelligence.

You do realise that humans began life on earth as black people covered in hair.

  • Are you joking? Its called evolution and natural selection.

  • But the genetics of intelligence is not known!

Where are you pulling your 'facts' from!

Its well known that humans became pale due to a change of climate and enviornment. They may have become white or lighter due to vitamin D deficiency. Humans didnt magically change into white humans or become super enhanced in any way.

All humans evolve physically but the mental capabilities are down to experience, education, well-being and normal brain function. Black people are scientists too you know!

  • I think we agree and have misunderstood each others comments.

  • @xemutv Race, Evolution, and Behavior--Dr. Philip Rushton

The things that led to skin differences also led to cultural and intelligence differences.

  • This video is a good video. The points are on target and it makes perfect sense. Basically it's the way I've always view 'RACE' to be.

    Good Job.

    LovelyNiecy.

  • Profound words, thoughts, points and truths!! It's all an illusion? Whodathunkit?

    A 5+ star vid!! ~QACC

  • Race is a real thing there are genetic differences in people. This can be demonstrated by looking at birth defects caused by inbreeding.

I do believe on the other hand that we are created equal. This is in reference to legal rights and responsibilities.

All should be given equal opportunities and equal freedom under the law.

Any racial distinction not be considered legally.

To claim that race doesn't exsist just doesn't make sense. There is too much evidence to the contrary.

  • Please point out these birth defects..sickle cell is not race based.

I open to hearing all of this evidence to the contrary.

  • Sickle cell is a genetic defect predominant in groups that were exsopsed to malaria.

How genetic characteristics became dominant in groups of people (races) is not the question. The fact that racial groups have predominant genetic charictaristics is.

The animal knigdom has many examples of this.Dog breeds for instance, carry with them certain genetic charictaristics.A Chihuahua and a St.Bernard are both dogs.

    To Be continued....

  • So if non african people can get sickle cell, wouldn't that in itself mean that is not race based.

You make a point of saying there is so much evidence, and you haven't mentioned anything but dog breeding as evidence.

The point is that there is more variance inside a so called race than between them.

I am still waiting on all that evidence that humans are different races genetically.

  • When you say its not raced based if you mean that it isn't caused by race I would agree with you.I do recognize though that it is evident within ethnic groups

When you claim more variance within ethnic groups or "races" than outside of them I disagree.i would even say that all the evidence will support the opposite idea. What you're saying is that it would be better to marry your sister than someone not related to you.

  • You keep claiming all the evidence, but you can't come up with even a single argument to support the notion.

I am not saying that its better to marry your sister. My argument is this line of argument is irrelevant. Humans have been mixed to such a degree that we are all so alike that what small differences remain are more the result of location more than this politically imposed notion of race. We are 99.9 percent identical. of that 1 tenth of a %, 85% of that is based on location.

  • Race and intelligence/race and IQ

Look up this video the studies and facts are all listed and they supprot what I've been saying.

You claim that we are all alike and that there is no racial differentiation in humans but you give no evidence to support this.

In your other response to me you said that sickle cell was a contagious disease which is completely false!

Do yourself some learning before you try to comment back to me please!!!

  • You are making the mistake of confusing race with environmental/cultural forces. Is there a difference in standardized tests between rich kids in salt lake city and rural west Virginia? If black Americans have higher blood pressure is it because of genetics or environmental factors.

I have cited my reference below, you can choose to believe the work of geneticists and evolutionary biologists or not.

My point is there is no genetic difference. Why would this fact bother you?

  • Wrong again my friend. The confusion is yours.I never claimed that ethnic groups weren't effected by cultural/environmental forces, only that the effects of said forces can be passed from generation to generation.

I already know that what you're claiming won't be supported by any credible geneticist.

Your point is a fallacy."theres no genetic difference" So we're all clones? You're way off base here. How do you think we use DNA for evidence? If we were all the same so would our DNA be.

  • You want to parse my words but only when it works to your advantage. I said 99.9% alike and 85% of that .1 is environmental. I copied that number directly from the source I mentioned.

If you really want to prove me wrong, go to the site and see for yourself if source is credible.

I gave you the source and gave you the stat. If you don't want to look that's your prerogative. I think its interesting that you wouldn't even look at the source given the overwhelming evidence you originally stated

  • Parse words? What are you refering to?I haven't parsed word 1 with you.

I checked the site you listed.didn't see any studies cited or sources listed.

I don't need to prove you wrong. You are trying to prove a point not me.

Again lets get this straight your claim is that race doesn't exsist right?

  • So do you find PBS to be a credible source?

Did you find the exact statements that you said couldn't be true backed up by that source.

If I read the thread correctly, you are the one that stated there was so much evidence to contrary. It would seem to me that if I give you evidence that makes my point, backed up by scientists in the particular field, you would be compelled to attempt to do the same.

Race exists....but its not genetic. Its a political construct. Did you watch the video?

  • Here are some of the experts that supported documentary

Alan H. Goodman is Professor of Biological Anthropology and former Dean of Natural Sciences at Hampshire College in Amherst

Jonathan Marks is Assistant Professor of Anthropology at the University of North Carolina

Pilar Ossorio is Assistant Professor of Law and Bioethics at the University of Wisconsin at Madison

George M. Fredrickson is Edgar E. Robinson Professor Emeritus of United States History at Stanford University

  • Well it looks like you've done your homework.

I've got to admit its a very interesting theory.

I watched one of the other vids you have on your profile.I believe what you're doing in general is a good thing.

I'm not totally sold on the idea of zero race.

I do want to see where the scientific community goes with it though.

    Thanks for your time.

  • I may have you confused. I was responding to this statement "I already know that what you're claiming won't be supported by any credible geneticist"

I appreciate your looking at the video and engaging in a youtube debate that didn't turn into name calling :)

If you get a chance, check out the ask the experts section. There is an area where folks were able to ask the types of questions you posed and get responses from those experts

  • No they did not support the inferences made in the video per se. You are twisting the work of these people to fit your agenda. I should know, Im a biochemist.

  • I never argued to the contrary.I am aware of the causal relationship between malaria and predominance of sickle cell enemia in ethnic groups.

In the case of children born to incestuous parents(brother and sister),that child is at least 3 times as likely to inherit whatever congenital defect(s) may be present, that man be sickle cell it can be cystic fibrosis or whatever.

This is evidence that genetic characeristics are shared within ethnic groups.

Why would this fact bother you?

  • You are missing the point. If we go back far enough we all come from the same family. The fact that a group of people can contract a disease does not in ANY way mean that the disease is passed along racial lines. A disease could be passed between the people on your street to their children, does that mean its racial when you probably have different so called races in your neighborhood.

  • The congenital disorders we have been talking about here like sickle cell are not contagous they are genetic defects passed to children from parents!

Learn about a subject before you start talking about it!

  • You got me, I wasn't precise with my use of the word contract. Here are your words.. "Sickle cell is a genetic defect predominant in groups that were exposed to malaria." If you admit the environmental driver and admit that the disease can occur in different so called races then you are destroying your own point.

The facts presented are taken from a documentary called race the power of an illusion. Google it and you will find the site and the supporting info

  • Race is real, but it's importance is often exaggerated. Also, many(or most)stereotypes attributed to it are actually a product of culture.

I very much enjoy your videos. I have been saying this about blacks and their culture for awhile now. Unfortunately, many will accuse you of racism before they concede that "black culture" is self-defeating and degrading.

It seems like things were on the right track in the late 80s/early 90s. Perhaps all began to descend w/the ascension of gangsta rap

  • I used to think that racism was human nature. Not true. Its american cultural nature. But not human nature. Who's to say if blacks where taken as refugees from Africa instead of slaves and where treated equally that there wouldn't be a singular american culture? Rather then "black culture" and "white culture"?

Because the tendency to gravitate towards somebody that looks like you wouldn't be there since you've all had the same "american" experience? Think about it and let it marinate lol.

  • People really don't understand the influence culture has on people. Not one person is inherently different from another from birth. Culture/experience is what shapes our world view and attitudes. So to me what srf122122 is rediculous lol.

  • From NG this week.

The ancient world was devoid of racism. At the time of Piye's historic conquest, the fact that his skin was dark was irrelevant. Artwork from ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome shows a clear awareness of racial features and skin tone, but there is little evidence that darker skin was seen as a sign of inferiority. Only after the European powers colonized Africa in the 19th century did Western scholars pay attention to the color of the Nubians' skin, to uncharitable effect.

  • I've held landmark finds from the Laotoli basin in my very hands at one of the "top" universities for physical anthropology and I have concluded that this is all a con: mankind has been around far, far longer and building civilizations for far, far longer than we're being told.

  • 1. Race is not new. Egyptians(white) which were primarily of the Mediteranean sub-race, enslaved the nubians(black) from the south, and one of the pharaohs set a line and declared no blacks north of this line in egyptian territory.

    2. Race is not just skin deep i.e much more than just a color. Its in the bones, genes, character, personality etc.

    3. There is a mountain of evidence for black(slaves) admixture with the Hellenic peoples gene pool significantly, and you thought you had a good point.

  • Actually you are wrong. Nubians rules Egypt for some time. There was no declaration about Nubians as if they were a different race. They were people from a different part of the country (actually not very far) If you bothered to look at the science you would see that those physical traits beyond skin color are equally shared as we are came from the same biological tree.

  • Nice work. Have you ever heard of the Georgia Guidestones? I think racism is deeper than we as human beings think. In other words I dont think a human being started this if you get my drift.

  • Please be more specific. I looked up the Guidestones but I don't understand the point you are making.

  • Yeah you're right, I wasnt specific. I was comparing what you said in this video to the so called 10 "New" commandments of the G-stones. I think this whole thing is based on things we cannot see with the nake eye. Esp 6:20 My point is I'm about to embark on a mission where I find the truth about what is REALLY going on, especially with the things we cannot see with our eyes.

  • Good luck on your mission. Drop me a note when you find what you are looking for.

  • I will

  • awesome

  • I REALLY like that quote

"How could a nation that proclaimed equality and the natural rights of man hold slaves?"

Although to be honest, I've often wondered that more in regards to the Indians than the Africans.

  • psychological slavery

  • this is the realest thing ive seen on youtube.thanx for putting this up.this is what im trying to tell people.we aint black were brown.more people need to see this though.

  • Thanks Bitch :) Send it to all your friends.

  • "Race is a socio-economic-political CONSTRUCT"- Harry Edwards- Sociology Professor U.C. Berkeley

  • there is but one consciousness of humanity, but it struggles to cope with the reality that we or I are/is separated by physical and metaphysical forces like that of the body and culture. this comment is nothing but one experentially derived part of the human consciousness striving to unite with another. peace out.

  • GREAT vid man. Very enlightening. Wasn't crazy about the Cameo track but it grew on me lol. If i take anything away from this vid is that we need to judge people as individuals instead of as a certain race. I totally agree with this sentiment and wish more people thought this way. Our country would be a much better place.

Not to sound cliche but Martin Luter King said it best when he said we need to judge people by the content of the character and not the color of there skin.

  • This video creeps me out for some reason, lol. Sometime soon I will get into my informative video creating mode. Look out for me this summer!

  • I will be looking forward to it. I should have another one by then as well. Let me know if you need any help. What will your topic be?

  • I think I will do something about either black women and eurocentric standards of beauty or the lack of respect some of us (black women) have for ourselves.

  • i think the big theme of this video is really the creation of a black-white dichotomy and self definition. Would have been nice if u talked about how the privileged benefited from the creation of this divide and conquer system. overall good video. keep it up.

  • The hardest part of making this particular video was trying to distill all of the information available on that site. I actually had some of that point in an earlier version but I wanted to stay focused on fallacy of the basic definition. Thanks for your comment.

  • Thanks for notifying me about this. Very interesting and true. This was well done.

  • A very well thought video! Well done! Cameo soundtrack was perfect!

  • Thanks. A couple of people have said that didn't like the music. As I look at it again, there are about a dozen things I would have done differently if I had more time / patients. I would not change the music though

  • Good soundtarack! A very moving video bro!

  • Very nice video bro...a lot of educational value in it!!!

  • This is great for sure

  • Great, great, great!
