Another thing people fail to account for is the business aspect of it. Rodgers was a FIRST ROUND pick back in 2005 that had simply been sitting on the bench. His contract was near expiration and the Packers had to see what he could do.
All the mindless comments about Favre giving them the best chance at a Super Bowl or poorly founded. The guy has been the "epitome" of a turnover prone playoff choker the last half of his career. Sorry but the numbers don't lie.
I don't understand why people bring Favre's entire body of work and stating that unless Rodgers breaks all of Favre's records then it was a mistake to trade Brett Favre. Favre was not going to play another 16 seasons with the Packers. The guy was soon to be 39 years old when the Packers traded him. Rodgers certainly will never put up the entire body of work that Favre did but he does look to be a very good QB and will remain a good QB for longer than Brett would have.
