I believe it was Billy playing the guitar.he was a great guitar player.
He designed his own guitars and backed up many other singers playing the guitar.

I don't think this is the original 1959 version from the Monarch Records 45 rpm. Sounds like it's a re-recording from some later date. See my version (tomacrow1).
