@coco3203 They would've grown up talking with a texas accent. Here in the states there's a sort of prejudice that those of us that talk with any kind of southern accent are "slow" or "stupid". Actors and businessmen alike are discouraged from speaking with one to the piont where some will take classes to get rid of it When you get tired or drunk or possibly emotional you may lose control and the accent will surface. Teenagers in school even try not to use it when they act.

I find myself actually slipping into a very thick accent when I'm really tired, and it is just lazy talk. The difference is I'm from Walsall, so my 'lazy talk' is a really thick, chavvy-sounding mix of Brummy and Black Country :P lol

Um, yes it is a TYPE of southern accent...ALL of the Southerns states have their own sound but it's all categorized under the same thing. Like the Georgian accent is waaay different from the Carolina accent, and Louisiana accent is so different from the Kentucky accent. Duhhhhhhhh.
