i use to try to jump in water with sunglasses on from 1 meter hight and quickly figured out that it was an bad idea. Other - didn't he shoot hit hard by this fish jumping on it from that highs? Even little objects in the water can cause you big damage.
polarized sunglasses remove glare from the water and make it possible to see under the water. they are great for fishing, especially fly fishing so you can see the fish under the water.

I've seen it all...great editing. How can anyone really think this is real though? I'm a commercial fisherman and that just would'nt happen. Think about it....it would take hundreds of times to get this down....he would have been stabbed by a marlin's bill eventually. Great entertainment though!

It would be logistically impossible to have a cameraman right at the spot of the fish as he hits the water. Also, I would assume that marlins are pretty fast fish and why couldn't it just swim away when he hit the water, before he had a chance to grab him? I'm assuming they've drugged the fish to slow him down, therefore keeping him in a place to be caught. Just too many variables to have this happen... more like a 1 in a million shot and just not believable.
They interviewed that guy today on the morning show, he said it took months of trying that to get it right and the cameras were the hardest bit to set up. I guess he just got lucky!

They had what's called "Second Unit" which are a film crew to film the fish on a completely different day (that's OK, doesn't matter) and then the diving and grabbing of the Marlin was filmed the same day he dived with both camera crew. One in the helicopter several at sea.
