how do u know if a deer is typical or non typical?

i think for a mule deer, if one antler has more than 4 points, it is considered non-typical (eg. 5x4)

@Cruzinon22s ok i know its alooooong time since you asked but as far as i know a deer is considered non-typical when theres more non-typical points then typical points
