As an owner of both a Saab NG900 and a Subaru Legacy 6 cyl (not a Saabaru, two separate cars) I will tell you that the Saab gets a lot more admiration. I personally prefer the Subarus handling (probably because my Saab is a convertible) but the Saab sounds amazing and looks incredible. Two of the best cars money can buy for sure.
@arumdevil ALSO, my 9-3 2.0T is stock and I have beaten STI's (no EVO's). The main reason, THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO DRIVE STICK! Lol. Haha so it depends on the driver too.
@wezleey25 ha, yes the driver can make a massive difference. Here in the UK the proportion of Auto/Manual ('stick') is reversed, most people drive manuals here and 99% of tests are taken in a manual car (and if you take a test in an auto you are not allowed to drive a manual).

For you people that doubt SAABs performance abilitys type in "SAAB vs corvette race 2" and then say what you want....That is with only MILD upgrades. bone stock a Viggen will distroy a wrx it just takes a sec for SAABs to get going. a viggen will catch an STi around 120mph and walk all over it after that! Anyway, a stock 9-3 viggen generates 258ft-lbs and that is FLYWHEEL figure as is the 230bhp peak power. 0-60 in 6.5 seconds. I think you've misunderstood which legacy I have - the GT-B is a JDM only twin turbo version which has similar torque to the viggen (252lb) and peaks at 276bhp. it gets to 60 in 5.8 secs and pulls like a train to 160+
their driving character is totally different to imprezas - torque response is much more like that on a Saab except it hold out to redline at 7,500rpm.

I like subarus dude but they bog down over 60 mph! BTW my car is not stock. ETS intercooler, full 3" exhaust, T-5 cams, Stage 4 ECU bla bla bla. It makes about 315 whp and 370 lbft wtq. cost me under 1500.00 "me doing the labor" if I put 5 grand into my car I could make about 550 whp hp! and they are out there beware
i had a 1992 j reg 198k 2.3 9000 modified saab carlsson spit flames at a 53 plate suburau sti at 145 mph over an 11 mile motorway race, i struggled up to 110mph but foot planted it wasnt a problem after that
@trancegsi the legacy's are in a different league than the imprezas interior and comfort wise, and the twin turbo estates (station wagons to you) are as fast as a WRX even in standard form.

Obviously the AWD cars will be quicker off the line though, and no doubt would walk all over the saab on a mountain road too, but that saab will give them a run for it's money.
i just pwned some douche in a sti with my saab 95 comming up to my house.......
