I find the film kind of like a weird MTV sci fi reality show. I kind of liked it. People talk and there is little action. Very weird bad dream music from public domain too adds to it. It is kind of like Manos hands of Fate, or Eraserhead, where they were like no other similar film. Even the bright colors in filming are weird [dreamlike].
To bad Bruce Campbell was to young to be the Star of this flick .He would of been perfect for this.Well maybe someone'll do a remake and get Bruce to play.He da man. This movie is Actually in the top10 worst movies ever made WTF?
good minimalist movie, nothing really sci-fi about it, no monsters, not much of a story - just people out in the middle of nowhere who killed by flashing red lights and colored gas. Neat soundtrack too.
definitely Rebane's finest work, although i'm not sure that's saying much. I've always had a weird affection for this little flick for some reason. the ending is totally mind-blowing!
I completely agree. This movie is something special. It's also crap, but it's special crap. :P
I actually ordered the Giant Spider Invasion from Amazon after watching They. Unfortunately it seems like none of Rebane's other movies have the same charm as They.
yeah if there's any other movie that gets close to "they" it's probably alpha incident, but it's not nearly as, um, "good." GSI it seemed like ... well, the thing with rebane is, his movies are strongest when they're just people sitting around talking. anything involving sci-fi, giant spiders, being outdoors, or really anything. it just instantly fails. so i thought with GSI if he'd actually written out the spiders and made a morality play about rural wisconsin that'd have been cool maybe...
I was 12 years old and in Orlando. I went with my mom, dad and sister to see this because there was nothing else. The poster said "2 Hours of Solid Suspense". I still remember this and it was from 1973. The theater was empty and 4 stupid rednecks (2 M 2 W) and sat down right in front of us. 15 minutes into this crap, they turned around and told my parents they were swingers. We got up and walked out of the movie and my mother yelled at the theater manager and said "this movie is dog shit!"
This has been flagged as spam show

To everyone wasting his time on crap like this, watch "Dead Snow"
You'll like that one. First I thought it would be a movie like this, but I was wrong, it's a masterpiece with brilliant acting!

This is a good Sci-Fi Film from Bill Rebane ("The Giant Spider Invasion") his first finished Sci-Fi effort made for about 50,000 Dollars.

No wonder, the Giant Spider Invasion had some really famous actors in it (surprisingly). I wonder how Rebane got them into one of his B-Movies. >.>
I really need to upload the part where Paul Bentzen (recurring actor in Rebane's movies) does the "just between you and me" thing. :D
