  • :D my percussion director went there that year. But he was in grad school.

  • do think you can give a midi file?

  • FUCKING BEAST!!!!

  • i searched "simple drum cadence." simple?

  • Your Norton button is red. Bummer dude, should have webrooted it up.

  • Hot damn, that bass line. <3

  • How do you play sharps on tenors? lol

  • @Xlr012 Quickly tune it up! =P

  • Smooth. I need virtual drumline. I use Sibelius as well.

  • There is so much going on?

  • So what exactly do i need to do this? do i need both programs?

  • wen i saw the bass section i was like "there qunna make tenors outt of basses????"

  • That's my school TAMU-Commerce Lions!!!!!

  • Can someone explain to me how you get sharps on a tenor note? lol

  • Thanks whoever you are for putting this up. I want to take a moment to answer some comments and criticism about this street beat. This was written as a homage to the street beats written for the TAMU-C drumline by Brian West in the 1990's. It borrows licks and structure from them. The "groove" section is based on a section of Bill Bachman's 1996 PASIC quad solo. It was written to be learned quickly before I met the drumline I was teaching.

  • i love the groove in this!

  • OH MY GOD. I bow down to any bass-line that can play this..

  • @Friday702Musicality Michigan State University's Bassline could do it....

  • @prankcallz444 Then I bow down to MSU's bass line.

  • fanaly is a great invintion

  • lol @ gay tap off

  • the bass line is like madd impossible,,and at 0:40 the quads gotta do sum madd ass choppin,,dey shiits gone be burrninn,,butterflies out da ass,,lol

  • very "cheesy" at 1:15

  • wats that program ur using

  • this sounds an awefull lot like the UMAS drum cadence

  • amateur... not only amateur in the writing, but the concept and construction... just stealing a few licks from dci street beats... nothing original, nothing new... idiot doesnt even know how to properly use dynamics, crescendo markings, etc.

    horrible!

  • Can you send me this file but put it in finale print music form?

  • what score do i use for these kind of drum cadences? i can't figure out where the tenor drum notes are on the staff. a little help please?

  • why would u put diddles with flams?!

  • @Jimmy852456 have you seriously never seen that before?

  • @Jimmy852456 CHEESES

  • @Jimmy852456 its a hybrid rudiment called a cheese

  • I definitely searched easy cadences and this was the first result.

  • the rock beat was nice, but i dont like the way the features were executed, especially cuz the cymbals are really boring during the feature.

  • I have to say that starting at C, that is one of the coolest grooves i've heard in a while. Good work.

  • Great! I might invest in Virtual Drumline after hearing this, sounds fantastic. Check out some of my compositions on Sibelius on my channel!

  • Dude this is a cool drumline did u make this??

  • bass part was sexy.

  • could you send me a copy of this, i think it would be a great addition to the drumline i play for, if iget our drumline to play it, id send you the video of us playing it.

  • I love the bass part. All about the splits!!! Plus the funky gooves add a nice tone to it. Hah

  • nice street beat...nice and funky. i dig it

  • Hey i was wondering If you actually had the sheet music for this ? I would like to try playing it ? Credits all to you THough. Thanks please get back at me (:

  • Any bug problems with the programs?

  • I love the tapoff <3

  • My favorite is "C" to the end.

  • phrasing couldve been better. the bass part would be fun as hell to play though

  • hey can you send me a copy of this for my high school drumline... this would make our bass line look beast

  • asome count off

  • what application would you need to do this?

  • maybe virtual drumline 2?

  • Great; mmh very inspirational; it makes me want to write a drumline cadence myself.

  • this is an awsome cadence i realy like it and i kno u probably get this a lot but do u think u can e mail me a copy because im having trouble making a good bass line for a cadence and my fellow piers are bored of what we play so yeah just wondering.

  • Could you please email me a copy of this cadence -- my sons high school band would like to use it for their marching cadence next school year.

  • u think maybe i can get a message of this too?my school's band is in great need of something new and entertaining....thanks

    nice work btw.=Þ

  • hey..i play tenors, but i've never seen those crazy notes that are either way above or below the staff..what exactly are those??

and i'm not sure if you're sending anyone this music, but if you are, do you mind e mailing me a copy. it would be greatly apprecitaed.

    thanks

  • i like it

  • hey can you send me a sheet of music for my drumline i would realy like to use it. if you dont mind please. message me thank you

  • hey id love to use that with my drumline. if you have the sheet music and wouldnt care about giving it to me, send me a message. thanks

  • i love the groove at 0:58

  • me too bro

  • i need to find a download of this program. so far everything i've tried is trying to coax me out of a credit card

  • I think drums awake something primal and old in us, seeing as its been around for a long ass time, anyways the feeling I get when I hear good drumming is unlike any other.

  • Very nice. I would love to play that cadence

  • i love bass

  • Boy did i hate playing cymbals in marching band. such a boring part.

  • typical, nothing original.... dull... composer needs to learn how dynamics work in music.... crescendos, not dynamic markings per beat... duh! Amateur at best.

  • Having been a Finale user since back in 1998, I also have to put dynamic markings per beat in order to get the audio to playback the way I want to hear it with soundfonts.

When I arrange for paper, I do typical markings such as crescendos, sfz, accents, stickings, etc...

  • well in this centuries versions of finale, etc. the dynamic markings work... and more subtle than the rigid, harsh sounds of incremented dynamics... then again, its all about one's standards and quality of sound... in this poorly composed arrangement, its evident that quality of sound isnt an issue, so why should it be in a very poor recording?

  • boring.

  • what do the ratios above the faster notes mean?

  • one hand plays one of the numbers and the other hand plays the other ex. 3:4 means one hand plays triplets and the other hand plays eighth notes.

  • I played on the base line and tenor line, but this was a while back when were were East Texas State University. I am proud of how far the band has come. I am excited about the new music building.

  • how do you make this on microsoft?

  • thats like an impossible bass line.

  • @QuietSnare Not really. That's like corp quality right there...if not watered-down.

  • @QuietSnare hahaha all the more fun. I play snare and tenors, me and a few buddies (all played on drum line) of mine got the sheet music for dis and we practiced for like for probably... an hour nonstop and we finally got it!!! Dang it was so much fun!!! Our drumline instructor was all surprised, he didn't see that coming

  • @QuietSnare Not for the Cavies ;P

  • @QuietSnare Not really. DCI would find the bass line to be weaksauce. But for any highschool line, I must agree.

  • @QuietSnare pfffft.... tom float was writing stuff like that 30 years ago.... hell, you should see the 1991 and 92 bass parts for santa clara vanguard.

however, this street beat sucks balls.... its nothing original or clever... its boring, poorly constructed and written.

  • @QuietSnare i think the 5 best bass players in the world could get like... 98% of that lol

  • @QuietSnare nah not too tough, although it is really sweet cadence

  • @QuietSnare If your bass line is coordinated and work well as a team it is a little easier to imagine. I was on my bass line for a year before moving to quints and was surprised at how a group of highschool screw-offs were able to do insanely difficult things on bass.

  • @zildjiany all cadences arenot made to march in time with. a lot of them are made for fun. in HBCU land their drum sections have cadences for marching and cadences for battles

  • @zildjiany that's not entirely true. The groove at around 1:00 is definetly easy to march to. Plus, it sounds fucking awesome!!! :D

  • @zildjiany just because you cant march to it doesnt mean its not a cadence. for example in the HBCU world they have cadences they use specifaclly for marching only and cadences they use to battle against another drumline.

  • @TheDragonmaster18 My last college was an HBCU and we have like 13 marching cadences and 10 punch cadences. It was crazy since I was a freshman at that time.

  • uh crescendo/decrescendo?

  • damn thats hard as shit! but awesome. i like the last part

  • Cool man! if you could do me a favor and check my cadence out: mixed coolaid. It's in the video responses.

  • sweet

  • ay man can you please send the music sheet 2 me??

  • Thats sick man.

Question, if you just buy Sibelius can you still write marching drumline cadences? I wrote one by hand and I would really like how it all sounds through one of these programs.

  • Yed, Sibelius and Finale both have there own drumline sounds, Virtual Drumline is just a add on to thos programs for better sounds and better writting tools.

  • Thanks.

  • thats sick

  • ha.. wow.. I looked up Cool Drumline Cadences on google and this was the first thing to come up.. lol.. I remember marching this.. and Alan always thought I was play one part wrong when it was really Jeremiah!.. danget..

  • thats sick

  • that snare lick and bass lick is pretty damn sick

  • to make stuff like this do u need both Virtual Drumline 2 and Sibelius 3.1.3 ???

  • Yes sir, Sebelius lets you write the music (notation) and VDL gives you sound.

  • whats the total cost for both ??

  • When I bought it, Sibelius was $300 and VDL was $200.

  • Or you could buy sibelius 6, it comes free with virtual drumline.

  • @gtsmart821 However, now Sibelius comes with some good VDL sounds if you start with the Drum Corps: Battery house style. It doesn't come with all the bells and whistles you heard here, but you can still make great sounding cadences and save yourself $200.

  • THAT WAS THE COOLEST TAP OFF I EVER HEARD! lol

  • so agree with you

  • I cant get skanks to work on vdl 2.5 with sibelius

  • Where can i get this Candence from?? i want my Line 2 play this..

  • i agree

i want to play this with my cadence

  • 3 measures before B sounds off dude. I mean, it doesnt seem to agree with the way the rest of the piece sounds. Does anyone else agree with me there?

  • Yeah, sixes feel kind of random...

  • @godofallpenguins001 yes i agree. that and also 2 before A

  • @godofallpenguins001 Yeah, the quintuplets should be changed to some other note.

  • @godofallpenguins001 Yes it does. It's a mini solo. The triplets coordinated with the sex tuplets in the later tenor and bass solos.

  • @godofallpenguins001 agreed. the whole thing leading up to the groove just doesn't flow very well

  • I still can't get Sibelius to work with VDL 2.5. Hearing this makes me really want it to work, and makes me sad that it doesn't. =(

  • 0:58 electric wheelchair? or VERY simular

  • somewhat cliche, nothing original, (yawn) dull... heard a thousand street beats like this. not very challenging or interesting. the recording sounds like shit... sounds so machine, not like a real line... get some better equipment and software.

  • it sounds x100 better without the recording app he used to upload to youtube.

  • no, i know what it sounds like even generated through good digital audio and headphones... i just dont care for the drumline sounds VDL has... all the rest of the stuff (concert equipment, drum set, cymbals, etc.) is brilliant... the drumline stuff doesnt sound very good at all, then again, its probably the poor tuning that cassella and company does.

  • this is definitely my favorite VD cadence on youtube

  • Can you send me the sibelius file of this cadence. I really want my line to play this. Thanks.

  • 'i wish there was a torrent for VDL

  • at the end of the snare solo, why didnt you just make that a crescendo?

  • some music programs wont let you write crescendos. Like Finale 2007.

  • wow it seems like someone would have thought of that

  • Nah VDL can do it... I think he just doesn't know very much about the program... he also missed the fact that you can program in a "unison" beat instead of typing out all the bass drums one at a time

  • WHOOP!!!!

  • Hey.I am currently writting a peice with Sibelius.I was wondering if I could get the score to this somehow.

  • watz up thats a tight cadence. i was wondering is there was any way to download the sheet music to it?

  • This was great. Flat Irons inspired?

  • that was sick

  • worlds best program

i used this to learn a whole piece and created my own

  • Comment removed

  • Read the description...

  • oh ok i never heard that program thats y

  • It''s all good.

  • nice

  • i want to download this piece

  • haha

my school has 3 tenors, 5 snares and 5 basses lol

and 3 of us are going out for drum corp as jr.

really? 1 bass? so unpoportional lol

  • sick

  • 58-130 is a little repetitive and unoriginal, haha no offense but come on, everyone knows that groove.

  • sounds like electric wheelchair a wee bit around 1 min and after

  • yeah in the bass line

  • haha yeah i noticed that too.

  • dannng. i wish our high school marching band could do that, but all we will have in our drumline next year is four people. 2 snares, a quad, and a bass. and i think that it would still be kind of advanced for us anyways.

  • Ouch

  • Yeah, the pit is going to be bigger than us!

  • We're marching 3 quads, 2 snares, and 5 bass which is pretty small for us. I think our pit is equal sized.

  • Wow, having three quads would be a blast! Well next season were lookin' into a New York theme and they want at least 10 in the pit. Mostly on xylophone and bass, and were pretty sure were set on one quad and 2 snares now...getting smaller, no more bass drummers!

  • that's a pretty badass bass part

  • i did not like any of it until :59

  • are there any programs u can download off of the internet for free?

  • i've been looking for a while. and so far i've found nothing.

  • kewl!

  • the buzz strokes and other things are shown way up at the top can you assign the MIDI sounds? so you can print it out readable

  • i like 0:59

  • at 0:39 you should have put "Fp"

  • can u send me the files

  • omg that was amazing!

  • does sibelius come with drumline samples?

  • Yes but they are pretty limited, the Virtual Drumline is what actually has the real 'drumline' sound

  • Nice

  • dude sweet

  • where can i find cool cadences like this???

  • nice cadence. love the snare and tenor parts.

  • if you have any simple cadences could you send them to me cause im in a middle school drumline and id like mine to learn a simlple but cool cadence

  • I am trying to find some cadences that my drumline can learn, so I dont want college level cadences or any super hard stuff. I am willing to TRADE any of these cadences/warm-ups/audition packets listed on my profile!

  • hey if any 1 has ANY cadences for a drumline for(bass snare tenors)i will trade any SCV cadence/warmups like DOUBLE BEAT, ELE. WHEELCHAIR, KRAKUS, SPICE MON or any thing else i have(i have alot of shit!)from cavaliers, blue devils, ect..........

  • those base splits are sweeeeeet

  • bass???? haha!

  • That snare part is INSANE. Nice tenor stuff, too.
