Is it really 'so' much hatred, or more a few disenchanted individuals with an axe to grind following a speed prosecution or a fine for a dirty number plate? Brunstrom actually did a huge disservice to police all across the UK by his actions, but they are still the first call you'd make following burglary, assault, theft, abduction etc.

And no, less and less people report crime these days because they think it's a waste of time nothing gets done. they are too busy harrassing motorists.
@3603089 Hi, there are actually very few police officers who deal with traffic related matters, in fact the vast bulk of speeding detections are made by police staff who are civilians. That is done solely to free up regular officers to allow them to deal with other matters.

I may not be legally or accademically correct in what I say and I'm not of the mind to argue every little point and your correct I have had personal dealings with the police (nothing major I add) and I have found them to be abbusive, patronising, and totally dictatorial which I guess comes with the uniform and a feeling of power. i work on the building and was there when it happend wasn't anywhere near damaged as the papers said just alot of fuyn watching the piggy building burn
