I dragged out this battle as long as possible just to enjoy the music. Summon Knights of the Round once and it's over, I found that out the first time I played the game.
Yeah, but the problem is, by the time you DO face her (birth), you're in a place where you can't level-grind. Specifically, in that friggin' boat. Life and Death, if you get the right accessories, which you can pick up only minutes before the fight, you can not lose, because at least one character will be 100% unaffected by her attacks. And by the time you face Synthesis, I'd hope like hell, you can beat her.
lol its true.. maybe jenova should have got a Tonberry to fight alongside her.. might make it that little bit harder =P in all fairness this battle was too easy!! unless it was on purpose to throw us off how strong sephiroth would be..

the first time i played ff7 i thought i was gonna die lik 100 time up against sephiroth but i beat him easily and i was only 9 so i didnt no much about how to get limits and stuff. the hardest moster of all though is the one near the gold saucer on disc 3 and the one underwater. i beat the one underwater on my b-day. how luck is that?! lol
@Zidane756 I had the same problem try cleaning the disc and when it gets to the CGI turn off your TV not your consle and wait for 5mintues and turn it back on. Helped me out.
@Zidane756 I realize this comment is 10 months old... But I recently got an Emulator for my PC and DLed all of the FF7 discs. If you're interested, look up the program ePSXe and try the website emuparadise.
hehe this boss was really easy. played with cloud, RED XII and Barret. all of them had the substance hit 4 times. It was about 50 seconds and he was dead :)

Most things on FF7 became far too easy when you get Knights of Round... Kinda overpowered considering not many things could take more than 3 hits of it, excluding Ruby / Emerald weapon.
you had to go out of your way to get Knights of Round, thus you should know that when you get it, its not really part of the game, its an extra, which is why its so over powered, so you should know it when you get it, therell be no challenges, right? :D
actually i play with cloud(duh),yuffie cid and i beat this boss in less than a minut(literally) and i was on level 58 and i dont use knights of hte round or limit breaks
