@artfantasies I went outside with him sometimes to let him play in the grass and get some sun. I would only do that though when I was watching him because I didn't let him leave the yard to roam around the neighborhood.
... yes, cats are always in danger when they stray around, even when it's in the neighborhood. Tommy had a wild nature he liked to be outside but -> 3 really bad dog attacks, 2 poisonings, bad injuries in a fight with another tomcat as he was already 13 years. From 2002 to 2006 or 2007 I didn't let Tommy out. But one day as his big love Susie was outside & he looked so sad I desided to let him out again. Of course I would have not forgiven me when he would have died outside.
@artfantasies That is why I stayed with him and if he looked like he was going to stray I would get him. I would have hated for someone to have done something bad to him or have him get killed and never return home. I would not have forgiven myself for that either so I only let him out just to play in the grass while I sat with him. He never really tried to sneak outside so he was very happy with his life inside and I'm glad for that so he could be close to me in the house! :)
Could Tar Cat went out sometimes in the vacinity of your house?
