  • Orale muy buena coreografia, son muy buenas, claro k si voy

  • For everyone who thinks that this isn't much - first u try to dance like this with that much of energy for 10! minutes then talk. These girls are crazy! (in a good way ;) )

  • Unmata is a REVOLUTIONARY dance team, combining modern dance styles with belly dance, and are pure artists and have so much fun with their dances. Haters gonna hate.

  • lol nice armpit hair

  • SHUT THE HELL UP!!! I was blown away by these ladies!! Awesome, awesome job. Loved the music choices, and as another comment said (probably more than a few) the synchronization was freaking beautiful!! I've rarely watched a full 10 minute video and not been a wee bit bored at a few spots ;) But this was truly spectacular . . . gorgeous work ladies! The other thing? Everyone truly looks like they're having a sh*t load of fun!! (Hate when dancers look like they're concentrating too hard!)

  • Body hair of any kind = disgusting but it sure as hell doesn't detract from the fact that these are some fuckawesome dancers.

  • VERY VERY WELL DONE. Synchronization was tight! Especially in the turns. It is ridiculously hard to keep the integrity of each movement going at such a fast pace but y'all did, so kudos! I hope you all still dance together. Very nice stage chemistry!

  • @m0riaSaidah Pensaba q era un "efecto óptico" :S pero si tú tmb lo piensas... :S

  • First and last dances - FRICKIN' AWESOME!!!

(A shame the topic of armpit hair comes up so much in the comments, but, though I wish it didn't distract me from the dance somewhat, it does.)

  • It's refreshing to see real women- with their 'real hair'- that aren't afraid to show it. They are happy in their bodies as they are, which is perfectly natural (if somewhat tattooed.)

  • got a little boring after a bit.. but great concept!

  • What are the names of each song in this performance?

  • Its nice to see communites of women that love each other, for each other, that share something so beautiful, and that support each other! Belly dancers UNITE! :)

  • I Love Them I Rememebr When The Red And Blue Preformed Here Beautiful Woman They Forgot The Other Cd At The Airport And Went On Finishing The Dance Without the Music

  • em...el baile genial, las chicas geniales...pero...la sobaka, diría yo que mejor sin peletes no? que francamente mal unas axilas sin depilar para este tipo de baile o cualkier tipo de baile en verdad!

  • amazing!!!

  • The girl in bright blue I could not take my eyes off from her.... you guys have so much of stamina OMG.. you people are simply awesome!!!!

  • @leena250983 That is Amy and she is an amazing person. I love taking dance workshops from her. She is very inspiring. And great to talk to. very down to earth for being such a goddess. Truely!

  • @gwynhwyfar1benazir : I wish I also could do that .. you are definitely lucky to get dancing lessons from her.... She is indeed amazing!!

  • I'm sweating and i'm only looking at them !!! Wow those girls always move faster and faster everything i watch them !!!

  • This was probably the most awesome thing I've ever seen.

  • piu le guardo piu mi piacciono! brave

  • I LOVE that they are confident enough in their own beauty to not shave - makes them the hottest dancers around IMO.

  • fantasticooooooooooooo

  • wow! si....

  • This was AWESOME..really a great fusion and fun to watch! I wish someday to be that good!

  • These guys are so good, I luv it. Timing off? WTF, man. I'm a drummer, their timing is not off. Is it a sync problem with sound and visual?

  • WOW... I've heard this remi before, but never thought I'd see it on a DANCE! HAH! Nice :P

    ~Specter

  • funtastic :-) as always - rock girls :-)

  • I like them very much, this girls are great, but why don't they shave their armpits?

  • Mithrylle - why should they shave their armpits? Men don't shave theirs?(not many anyway) Its natural for women to have hairy armpits - its only our culture which tells us we should all be hairless barbie dolls. I choose to shave mine, but I don't see why anyone should be told they have to shave theirs or that there are any 'should's' about it...?

  • I shave my armpits and it is not because this society tells me I have to be Barbie doll or any other doll but because I find it to be more hygienic and I feel good when I have my armpits shaved.

I never said they have to shave it I just asked why they don't 'cause it is not common to see young woman whit hair under her arms, specially in this modern days.

And these days more and more men shave their armpits.

  • Sorry Mithrylle - didn't mean to come across so agressive!! sometimes i hate the internet as so much is lost in text! Yeah, I shave because I find it more hygenic too - but i have to say i dont think i'd like it if my boyfriend shaved his armpits!

I am sure some women don't shave as a statement against the western perceptions of female beauty...

  • That is the same reason why I don't like internet discussion / talk / conversation as well. :)

  • @alittlebitofperil Just one word: aesthetics

  • Because they're awesome like that...

  • Personal prefference.

  • no people who do not possess an open mind should be banned from Tribal Fest!

  • Unbelievable! Unmata always break the rules and good on them! Nothing should ever stand still, and they certainly don't! These ladies inspire and innovate, absolutely amazing!!

  • the great thing about tribal fusion is that you can make it whatever you want. just because it isn't the traditional idea doesn't mean it isn't bellydance, and unmata does a great job with their style.

  • How exactly is it not tribal? The entire first song is completely group improv.

  • atunsengeb - ALL dance is fusion!!! and tribal fusion uses and fuses all kinds of dances. If every dancer danced the same HOW dull would it be!!???

  • It's just amazingly remarkable that I can watch this nearly 11 minute video over and over without getting bored at all. Unmata's just remarkable.

  • @nyxnightingale

That's so true, I find it hard to even watch a movie, but I didn't notice the time length on it. They are really good! I don't like fusion as much as I like belly dance, still this this kills the monotony. If you watch too long, some of these dancers just look like they are jiggling and wiggling with no point. This is a nice group, if ever I get a chance I'll try to see them if they travel to Tennessee.

  • Not what I was expecting but bloody well fantastic!!

  • Wow. Not your "typical" tribal bellydance routines. Loved it!

  • What I love about Unmata is that they are always pushing the boundaries of bellydance but they still manage to retain so many of the original tenets. They're always fun and exciting to watch. After this video I've decided that if I ever win the lottery I'm moving to SF to train with Amy lol.

  • You should come anyway! She's based in Sacramento which is cheaper than SF :)

  • lol I couldn't afford it. If I could I would. I'm buying the lottery tickets every week lol!

  • Siiiiiick!

  • This is the best Tribal Fusion video I've seen. Can anyone tell me what the names of the songs are?

  • omg love it!! so entertaining :D great job ladies

  • wow, amazing!!! tell me the name o 3-rd song please :)

  • such powerful movements!

  • É tão sincronizado que chega a irritarrr!!!!

Toda vez que vejo elas dançando fico de boca aberta,são perfeitas!!!

  • superbe!!

  • i lovedddddddd I still love UNMATA they are the best girls.!!!!

  • rock it

  • I LOOOOOOVE YOU UNMATA!

  • ohmi....I have no words.

Oh wait - yes I do *freaking awesome!!!*

This is everything fusion can be and more. Love you Unmata, Amy please come to Australia one day!

  • there timing is amazing

  • Thanks MsMasinah,

I still love UNMATA and everything they are doing in dance to challenge the status quo. We can't forget all the ways they challenge people to see women in a more dynamic sense...we don't have to be delicate hairless lil flowers & we can be strong in our self expression.

  • Yeah, the implied orgasm is totally fine with me. It's really not derogatory for someone to 'get off'. That was the good part of the song. ;~P I don't want to accept the 'N' word as normal or okay to use tho. It's just mean and harmful, even when people don't mean it to be.

  • 5 snaps for you luminouskat64! ;-)

  • Geez this conversation is hilarious! Get OVER the N word people! It's NOW part of American language, found all over the place. I honestly think if there were kids at Tribal Fest that saw this set, the odds of the even NOTICING the language are very slim (as if they hadn't heard it ever before? puh-leez)

i think it's so funny people have typed so much about words that blur into the song - but NOBODYs delicate sensibilities were offended by the implied orgasm in Speed Racer!

  • Part of the American language now? , Part of whose language and exactly when did it become part of the American Language, and further more what the

F*%$ is American Language? Implied orgasm cmon now thats like comparing apples to oranges. And smarty pants if you paid attention to any of the postings it was about the use of an unedited version of a song! So PUH-LEEZ i find your posting hilarious cause it was irrelevant to anything posted in anyone's comments.

  • You're a twat. Please keep your repressive opinions to your own family. Why should anything be edited? Fuck off.

  • Comment removed

  • I like that you didn't address my main point, you just got offended about being called out for being a twat. You stupid fucking twat, read the rest of the comment. Your repressive opinions, that whole thing?

Police your own life, stop trying to edit everything else that's meant for adults. You obviously can't handle it. Hang yourself.

  • Awesome performance!!!!

  • In addition, Amy didnt write or perform the song, she danced to it. I forgive you Amy and I will still watch your Nascar set. I love your work and I appreciate what you are doing for dance and women through your art form. There are so many great things about what Unmata is doing to challenge stereotypes and I love them for it. Its genius really.

  • I do appreciate dreday126 and msmasinahs take on Umatas use of the Nascar song, because I too feel an emotional charge when I hear the N word peppered through hip hop music. However, I can see how Amy may not have focused on the 'N' word being used in this song because I had to listen to the song 10 or 15 times to hear it.

  • Not everyone is conscious of the subtle insidious nature of hateful derogatory language and its tax on the spirit. Fuck, I even do it to myself sometimes. On occasion, I tell myself I look fat or uglynot very kind. But, when Im really thinking about those words and what it is doing to my spirit I tell myself to shut the fuck up.

  • I am a white woman who dances in an ethnically mixed fire dance troupe. I was putting together a show for this last NYE and wanted to use the song Healer by Erykah Badu, but chose not to because of her use of the N word. I was really conflicted about it, because her overall message in the song is really a beautiful one. It is unfortunate that even Erykah, a genius talent, uses this word in her music.

  • As a personal choice, I choose not to listen to hip hop music that I consider degrading to African American culture as a whole. However, that can even be tricky. When I listen to Erykah Badu, I certainly do consider her music to be uplifting to the African American culture as a whole, yet she also uses the N word.

  • I can certainly understand feeling a charge of emotion when hearing the 'N' word from anyone, even an African American. Personally, I don't like how hip hop music uses such charged derogatory lyrics about any group. I think that overtime, hateful degrading lyrics in hip hop music has become insidious. Many people have become desensitized to cavalier usage of the N word and how it is harmful to everyone.

  • Honestly, I watched the set several times and never heard the 'N' word. After reading some of these posts I did finally really listen to the song and I did finally hear it. This was my reaction:

  • brrrruuummmmm brrruuuummmmm!!!!!

  • If the edited version had found its way into my life first, I would have used that one and probably never even noticed the difference. I was busy choreographing my car race! The song was fuckin hot, and the album just fell into my hands. I just pushed play. You don't have to support it, but hear my motivation at least. Much luv kids! and race on racers!

  • Amy what i have said many times that i was taken back by the use of the unedited song. I myself dance to rap music all the time cause yeah they have some of the tightest beats, but the worst lyrics. See by others speaking for you or on your behalf started the whole race card and cultural sensitvity topic. By others doing so I made sure i voiced my opinion about what they were posting. I find what you do and how you do it to be interesting, because you are not a cookie cutter dancer.

  • And your dances takes some of us back to the days when those old school dances were very popular because we do it too. If you say no disrespect intended then hey no disrespect taken.

    Thizz on!

  • lol@ we do it too.. we made the shyt up..lol ppl been emulating everything we've done since.. we got off of the ship..lol..but that's neither here or there....my bad, was that politcally incorrect..?

  • *politically

  • I can understand the unedited version coming to u first.. and u being inspired by the song.. that's all good and gravy....but, how can u not know the difference from a song with "ni99a" in it and without it..? I know u listened to the lyrics..because u based your dance on nascar...

  • the only reason i commented in the first place..was not to hate on ur style...but to simply say.. that as an African-American.. I am offended by a non-black troupe dancing to a song with ni99a in it in front of a predominately non-black audience.....to me its basally the same as u guys saying ni99a....a word if said in front of me... would cause u a lot of problems..

  • Well my better judgment says to avoid all posts on my part. but....I feel like this discussion warrants some disclosed motivation for me. I don't have the edited version of the song. I rarely buy radio play albums. I bought the Kafani album before the Nascar inspiration. The song "Fast like a Nacar" inspired this set. the rest of the songs were put in after. I just pushed play on the song and used it as it was. no disrespect intended towards anyone, any group or anything. to be cont....

  • I totally agree that it is a sensitive topic, and Ms Masinah has every right to feel strongly about it. I would never assume to know how that song makes her feel. In turn, she does not have is the right to assume we are cuturally insensitive and insult us. I am personally offended. I gues we're even. Mission accomplished MsMasinah.

  • There was no mission that i was trying to accomplish. I made a statement that i was taken back by the unedited use of the song! And where in any of my postings have i insulted you or any other member of Unmata? And to say that i have made you out to be culturally insensiitive, you did that on your own when you used the song. So no we are not even cause i didn't have no intention of trying to make you look bad or attempt to get you back for anything.

  • It's hard to swallow, but the fact is:

EVERY SINGLE point of view is RELATIVE truth -including yours, MsMasinah. You are intimately close to the sensitive issues surrounding the "n" word. But by golly, if the music is out there for EVERYONE to buy, then WE will enjoy it whether we are culturally sensitive to your p.o.v. or not. It's true, it can be offensive. But it's not MEANT to be.

Today I sat at a traffic light next to a car blaring unedited rap music. Driver? -White girl. The irony!!!

  • I know plenty of white girls that listen to unedited rap music, what is ironic about that? i never said that white girls couldn't listen to unedited rap music, cause hell i listen to unedited rap music.I just wouldn't get on a stage and dance to an unedited version of a song out of respect for my audience. Both of my bellydance teachers were both white women and they both made sure that we never danced to anything that was inappropriate, cause you never know who is in the audience.

  • "De gustibus non est disputandum"

There is no disputing anothers' taste. Let's agree to disagree, shall we?

  • once again.. thisisi not about taste.. it is about respect..

  • With all due respect, Dreday126, I believe this is about perception not respect.

  • So, the argument is really moot. -Bottom line here, is that in this complex society, it's simply impossible to see eye-to-eye. We don't all like the same flavor of ice cream. We don't all practice the same ethics. Some are more sensitive than others when it comes to language and that really should be respected. It's cool, MsMasinah, that you wish Amy/UNMATA hadn't used the unedited version. But... she did. And certainly, was merely exercising her right to, as the composer exercised his.

  • u are making false analogies...the language used in Kunta's song is his vernacular..Amy is attempting to be "bad ass" i guess...isn't what u guys said... and it seems that to her.. bad azz means.. doing disrespectful shyt.....its just funny because of who she is "playing" bad azz in front of.... because i'm almost positive that her style would switch up if her crowd was predominately black...

  • MsMasinah has the right to her opinion whether we see eye to eye w/ her or not. Emotions may be blurring the issue. She, if I understand correctly, was put-off by UNMATA using an unedited song containing the "n" word. If she is of African-American descent (which is the impression here), then she has every right to be concerned about the public use of the word. The irony to those of us who know Amy is that she's also a minority and is not out to seek anyone's approval. She is a dancer.

  • I understand that she is a dancer and that she is not out to seek anyone's approval. My first statement was that I was taken back by the use of the unedited music, just as i would be if any group got up there and did the same thing. Who am I ? They need no approval from me or anyone else for that matter. I voiced my opinion about the use of the song and yes i am a African American woman who was taught that if we don't stand for something we will fall for anything.

  • um.. Amy may be a minority.. however she is not an African-American... and its not about approval..conformity or the like. it is about disrespect...

  • It will be a GREAT day when we can all play on the same field regardless of where we come from or how we look, when we can come together as A PEOPLE and not as our sexuality or the color of our skin. Thank you Kafani for showing those blurred lines where an ubercaucasian sport like NASCAR can mix with the world of hip hop that we all so greatly admire & appreciate. And thank you Amy Sigil & UNMATA for carrying out the dream. Gotta love the rainbow!

  • Hmm now didn't you just say that be inspired by each other regardless of race and etc. Well if that is the case why did you feel the need to use the term "Ubercaucasian" when referring to Nascar and are you insinuating or ASSUMING that hip hop is "black" ? And FYI rap and hip hop are two totally different genres of music don't get it twisted! And the Nascar we know exist with old schools and sideshows!

  • um.. here is a great example.. of not understanding vernacular or what the song is talking about...

  • If I know anything about this troupe & this choreographer, inspiration can come from anywhere & anyone, and when inspired, well that is a terrible time to hold back. It seems that the words in the music are to be attributed to the writer of the song and to him I am greatful for the inspiration this group has received and am sure the last thing they want to do is censor his art. Censorship is simply a tool to escape that which we do not understand or do not want to discuss. sad

  • His music is already edited how do you think artist go mainstream? by producing radio edits. If they didn't artist would get no radio play & would remain underground. So actually record companies do this for you! & if i didn't want to discuss why would i be discussing here and I personally am not trying to escape nothing that i dont understand Im trying to get an understanding now the fact that you say its sad It would be sad if i wasn't trying to get an understanding!

  • How awesome is it that cultures of many types can merge to make such extraordinary art! I love that we live in a world where we can share and be inspired by one another regardless of race, gender, sexual identity and so on. There are so many facets where inequalities come into play and oh the boundaries that creates BUT it is wonderful to have the world of creativity to share new ideas and mobilize people!

  • Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiighhhhhhhhhhttttttttt!

  • It is VERY interesting how someone feeling so rightious about being a minority would automatically ASSUME that someone else is not a minority just by the color of their skin...hmm...

  • Feeling so self righteous....well if that's how you wanna put it then i will roll with that! But if i was assuming then please 4give me of doing such a thing, but if they are of a ethnic minorty then they should have known better, but hey like dreday said if that is how they were raised !

  • Oh Kafani, look at all the trouble you've started!

  • also want to say how great it is to see such original fusion - tribal fusion sets can be so boring - this is different to what we normally see in that genre.

  • These guys move SOOO well - and I know I'll probably get flamed here, but I just don't like seeing women with hairy armpits. YES, i KNOW its natural, and i know the only reason i wouldn't like it is probably that i was brought up that women shaved their armpits - however, i've gone au naturel before (i'm a woman, and a dancer), and I just don't like it, I don't feel as fresh. Just personal opinion.... part of me likes the idea that women could quit shaving, but I just like the feel of shaved!

  • the best!

  • Yep, Unmata has been & will always be controversial... They are a symbol of exploration and not feeling guilty about where they have been. Love it!

  • Ok let me ask you all a fair question, If a predominantly all black group went to Tribe Fest and dance to a song that used derogatory names towards white people and then flipped people off during the performance to a predominately white audience would you all be so accepting of that? Unmata is very talented and good at what they do. Using an edited version of that song wouldnt have taken away from thier talent or the attitude they were tryin to portray in the dance simply put!

  • It would depend on whether they were deliberately insulting me or if they just had a song they liked and wanted to dance to it.

  • Well Ravenselene others have said that they do it to be controversial, to live up to their badassness , or to open up a discussion so how much more deliberate could that have been?

  • I think she just liked the song and wanted to choreograph to it. I know Amy personally, and any other motivation she had, it was not racism.

  • I never said anything about racism or them being racist? That word came from your keyboard. And yeah it is a cool song, heard it many times, but i would not dance to an unedited version of that or any other rap song for that matter out of respect for myself and the audience no matter what race of people that are watching .

  • lol..of course they don't feel guilty..maybe they weren't raised to have any cultural sensitivity.... they probably just don't know better....lol.. "black culture" is the "in" thing.. I guess..lol goodness

  • Give me a break!!!! you have no idea what makes up the values of UNMATA. You have no idea of our experiences, our sensitivites and our convictions. "I can go on for days but until you walked in the shoes of a minority, which will never happen , you will never fully understand. Peace" This statement goes both ways. Interesting approach to fight ignorance and intolerance with ignorance and intolerance. workin for ya?

  • I don't know is it working for you?

  • Yet another stellar presentation from Unmata who never fails to not only satisfy but also make me want a cig, a cold shower and more dance lessons! Love to you Amy & your crew of badasses! I was so sorry to miss this year.

    This was phenom!

  • Dreday, you wrote "how dare you." Thank you for writing that, because that is the essence of the troupe. They dare. Unmata has never edited anything at anytime. There is no reason for it. The purpose is to integrate and inspire. Unmata is a discussion waiting to happen (and there are always pros and cons), they are an exclamation mark in the dance scene and to censor them would take away their purpose.

  • unmatagirl no one is trying to censor unmata whatsoever, what they do on stage is what they do on stage. I have seen the gals perform at other places and never heard them dance to a song that use the "N" word. I was taken back by it myself when i heard it. I feel for the ladies because not all people would let that slide , I hope that they never run into that problem when the audience is not to receptive of their choice of unedited music.

  • See, we opened a discussion.

You say that Unmata should not be censored, but by saying that they should edit their music you are suggesting that they should censor their performance.

  • No i said edit the song, not censor their performance. Their was nothing wrong with their performance. But im gonna leave this alone because you just don't get it! I can go on for days but until you walked in the shoes of a minority, which will never happen , you will never fully understand. Peace

  • Here is some advice, sweetie:

    1. Go google: Dadaism

    2. Read about what art can and has done in the past.

    3. Untwist panties

    4. Come back and discuss.

    Peace.

PS: Automatically assuming that I am not from a minority group is asinine.

  • 1. Need to google nothing

    2. Im speaking of your choice of unedited music...not once did i knock your art form. The use of an unedited song is not your artform is was a song you choose to dance your art form too

    3. Untwist your panties cause obviously yours are twisted too!

    4. I have been discussing for the past couple of days now and dont think i would stop, because you went and found some info on the net! Don't trip i need not this aint my first day on the job!

  • P.S. Well yeah it was easy to assume and it probably was asinine, because any minority I would have expected to have known better!

  • When did I ever say that I am in the troupe?

  • You didn't but you gotta a lot to say about a group that you have no involvement with.

So therefore I ASSUMEd that you either know them first hand ,have some close involvement with them, or you are an ultimate fan. And your name, well that speaks for itself. I rep myself

  • PS: Why would you want to insult yourself, MsMasinah?

  • Insult myself ? lol ...never, and get it correct Sweetie i have not insulted anyone since this discussion started!

  • Sweetheart, I feel for you, because you have put yourself in a bad light. Good luck, talking about cultural sensitivity like this, I sincerely hope that it works out for you.

Amy has spoken and explained her motivation (which was not necessary). Chapter closed for me.

  • Feel for yourself sweetheart, because my lighting is always good. Yeah it will always work out for me, I never said anything insulting, rude, and none of my comments have ever had a confrontational undertone as you would like to make yourself believe. Luck ,doll i don't need it, never lived by luck and not gonna start because you wished it!

  • UNMATA sees no color. They blur lines between "this" and "that." They make us examine our own opinions of dance and creativity. These kinds of things are what make art "Art." We don't have to like it. But if it makes us feel something, then maybe a mission has been accomplished. (Something to ponder: At what point does a human being have permission to use "someone else's" language? Or music? Or style? - Must they be a certain color? Or born into "the community?" Or can one merely "like" it?" ;)

  • I honestly don't think that you DahliaDance are getting what she is saying? She said she has no problem and enjoyed there performance, but the unedited use of the "N" word was inappropriate. And you say at what point does a human have to ask permission to use anothers language, music,or style? Why ask that when she didnt say anything about them using black music? And exactly what mission was to be accomplished by it?

  • My comment was just an attempt at saying, art (sp. UNMATA/Amy Sigil) has no boundaries. The offense taken by some people by the performance, apparently, so far, has to do w/ the music. My "ponder" comment was a generic one about the infinite quality of humanity that drives to push ever-changing boundaries. The use of the "n" word, or ANY "foul" word, for that matter, and it's power to offend is absolutely and unarguably culturally relative - meaning - truth lies in the mind of the beholder.

  • No one else thought that the selection is "racist and stereotypical" besides you. You are making it racist when it clearly was not intended to be. Maybe they just liked the song? There were several black people there who didn't have a problem with the song. The only one playing the race card is you.

I agree they should have editted the song, not because of any racial issue, but because there were children in the audience. That's a real reason. You are paying way too much attention to race.

  • And that other person. To be honest, I'm really saddened by people's need to seperate themselves by race. Since when is it disrespectful to appreciate a song and dance well to it, regardless of who made it? They did nothing disrespectful in their performance. Would you all feel better had they danced to a classical violinist? It wouldn't have had the same impact. You people who are using the race card are doing more to further racism than Unmata is. Wake up, people.

  • I have to disagree with your opinion. I just don't think that the people who made the song or sings the song do it only for the black people and only black people are allowed to dance to that song. That is just my humble opinion

  • There is not a problem with them dancing to the song what she is saying that they should have edited out the "N" word and the cussing thats all! I myself am i sista and yes i dance to all types of music, but i make sure that the songs that i dance to are edited. Cause yeah rap music has some of the worst lyrics, but you can always find the edited version or the radio edit that takes out the offenses words, that is the point she is making, not that only black people can dance to it.

  • oops my bad that is offensive words, sorry watching the game.;-P

  • That was great!!!

  • I miss you girls. Unmata & MG need to get back together soon! :) This was darling!

  • this is my favorite ever! i want to move to sacramento more and more everytime i watch

  • Move to Sac. Come to Hot Pot! SacTown is underrated, which is good cause our housing prices are better than any other city in cali. :) And you can take classes from Amy, Shelly and Kari! How rad is that!?

  • all i can say is WOW people who diss it have no idea what they are talking about!!

  • a bit tooo busy for my taste. and the music is awful retro thunderdome techno. yuck.

    But creative move combos indeed.

I actually liked all your performances until now but this one was tooo extreme for me.

  • You guys ROCk!!! what a fun show you put on!! always love watchin you!!

  • Yes! Jazzypony! you are right. we decided to open with the same combos that we did last year to reminiss a little. how do you spell reminiss? Im a big fan of opening with the "Hot Pot Hustle" as well! It's one of the most fun for me :-) you do something SO MANY times and it just comes out! mwah!

  • That's the beauty of Tribal Improv in my opinion- you have a tremendous amount of freedom to create. Some combos do tend to go well together, or to go well with certain songs. None of the combos we performed last year were in the same order as this year, you may have noticed, and three of the combos we performed this year were brand new so could not have been repeated. ; ) Thank you Amy for being so creative and birthing this unique style of dance so the rest of us can enjoy it!

  • There are no words for UNMATA's amazingness.

  • This gave me chill bumps to watch when I was there! Unmata kicks @ss!!!

  • Can you guys please stop being so kick-ass !?!

I had seen videos of Amy and Unmata before, but let me tell you, it just doesn't prepare you for the way they own the space when they walk on the stage. If you get the chance to see them perform live, take it.

  • awesome performance as always! Love the costumes and the racer theme too :)
