  • Wunrerfull!!!!

  • Europe "ftw". We should stop hating us, now we are almost in the same nation. Obviously, stupid people are just everywhere, but our culture MUST overcome prejudices, and just be the same heart, the same nation.

    Greetings from Italy, Europe.

  • Excellent!I like Daniel!

  • Awesome recording, thanks for uploading it!

  • this is the best simphony i have ever heard i will give it a thumb up

  • yes ! 50 lions Aristocrat slots I hit a big win haha !

  • Splendid! A staple at the New Years concert.

  • The conductor is just,great!Excellent!

  • i love barenboim :)

  • Or maybe I am just overly sensitive. :-)

  • @Isleshire1 The first time this played to the batallions of the Austro-German army, the soldiers started clapping along. And since it has been tradition to clap along, and the conductor should conduct the audience.

Happens every year at Austria's New Year's Concert.

  • @Dan474834 It was no longer Austro-German, if you are referring to the Holy Roman Empire of the German People which ended in 1806. It was already the Austrian Empire. After 1867 it became the Dual Monarchy of the Austrian Empire and Kingdom of Hungary, or Austria-Hungary. It's a great tradition that the People join in. Radetzky was a Brigadier General at the battles of Aspern and Wagram in 1809 and won the victory of Novara against the Kingdom of (Piedmont ) Sardinia in 1849, 40 years later!

  • @Isleshire1 this is EUROPE now fuck off

  • @MarcoBocoure ya back the fukk off bishezzz

  • @Isleshire1

Normally I would agree with and the usual 'German' clapping annoys me, too. BUT......The Radetzky-March without the clapping at the New Year's concert would not be the Radetzky-March. Not clapping would be extremely impolited to Austria, Strauss and all who love Radetzky-March :) So - bear with us and enjoy it :)

  • @Isleshire1 normally it would be considered impolite also in Austria, but it's a tradition that the audience claps during the Radetzky-March at the New Year's Concert, that's why they do it. And I like it, it adds some life and comedy to the performance :)

  • @Isleshire1

Americans clap during the Radetzky March too

  • @Isleshire1 With all due respect loosen up. In Europe it's impolite not to clap along to tracks like this one. It's the clapping from the crowd and the orchestra's music that combines so perfectly. Besides it is pretty hard to avoid clapping the tempo to this awesome track anyways.

  • @vstman Even in Europe, we do not clap along to tracks at classical music concerts. Vienna's New Year's Eve concert and this particular piece is the ONLY exception!

  • Bravo il Maestro Barenboim !!!

  • Demopan?

  • thanks.philarmonic.vienna.my.day.favorite.

  • Well done. Come you "dislikes", I know everyone is entitled to their opinion, but how can you not help but like this march?

  • This march brings back memories of our graduation when this march was played as we march towards the stage.

  • It's funny the guy in the first row at 3:17 seems to finds this very boring.

  • @LordHettrick i think he is mad because of the flowers in front of him. you cant see nothing of the orchestra in the first row. actually the only thing you can see 2 hours long is the conductors head^^

  • FANTASTIC ! I do not ever get enough of this !Dana, Romania

  • The conductor has got charisma

  • Beautiful march.

  • Herrlich! Bravo!

  • Barenboim at his best!

  • i remember that particular new year's morning in 2009 - ich was still drunk when i watched this awesome concert..

  • One of the best versions in a LONG time!

  • Nein man, ich will noch nicht gehen

Ich will noch ein bisschen tanzen

    Komm schon, alter

Ist doch noch nicht so spät

Lass uns noch ein bisschen tanzen

  • this is how all concerts and conductors should be

No własnie przeważnie to nieciekawe dla mojego ucha a tutaj?

To żart? Skomponował go

  • @jerzyniew Johann Strauss ojciec

  • Grand music!

  • I would love to at least one time in my life experience the atmosphere of the Neujahrskonzert on site in the "Wiener Musikverein". What a marvellous performance - long live the Vienna Philharmonic!

  • '' Charming ''conductor.

    ''Pleasant''with the musicians.

    ''Empathy''with the audience

    So, Amazing video!!

  • Schaut euch unbedingt die chinesische Version an! Super!

  • magnificant!!!

  • A professional attitude. And grate orchestra.

  • it's the Baren(boim).

  • Thank you. A splendid piece of music. Love it too on one of those old fairground organs.

  • what an awesome way to start the new year.

  • Daniel Barenboim: Ein mutiger Mann mit Sinn für Humor! Toll!

  • super

  • EH KLAR !!

  • genial! was fuer eine rampensau :)

  • It's really interesting to hear how different the orchestra sounds with each conductor that comes through.

  • perfect :))

  • Bravissimo!

  • Boremboin un grande!!!

  • Daniel Barenboim is great!

Funny and very much professional! :)

  • the conductor's funny =P

    that is in my country..

    i love it

  • Radetzky March is cute as always.

  • hahaha

  • @KarlsruheOutlaw

Also weg vom Rap hör mal ne Runde Klassik ^^ Ist echt geil kannst mir glauben^^

  • Grande Orchestra, Grandioso il Maestro Daniel Barenboim !!

  • @shaolintube no

  • What is amazing about Barenboim is that he is one of the few conductors who understand the orchestra's capabilities and limitations. He knows a piece like Radetsky March does not require a strong conductor presence, and so he is able to pursue other forms of conducting such as entertaining the audience.

  • 10% right. search for Barenboim + Waldbühne + Berliner Luft and feel yourself confirmed in your opinion

  • lol 100%

  • @ayuprnkcller This way of conducting the Marsch is quite usual, but I agree with you Baremboim is a great conductor

  • @ayuprnkcller The weak caring for the orchestra and strong attention to the audience is quite usual with the Marsch, but I have to admit this one is particularly emphasized and effective. I agree with you Baremboim is a great musician in general and conductor in particular.

  • @ayuprnkcller Actually that's a tradition at the New Year's Day Concert in Vienne. They do that every year no matter who the conducter is. =) But u are right he does an amazing job with entertaining the audience.

  • fortissimo il maestro

  • Piaaaaaano PIAAAAANO :D

  • Hei! We got 1 extra ticket for this year. But for 30.12. Does somebody wish ? Price as it is.

  • Es lebe Oesterreich!!!

  • i think conductors have the most fun if the Radetzky marsch is on their list ;p

  • i wish i was there

  • I tried to get there many times but it´s like this: you cannot buy a ticket, you can join the lottery that takes place every year from January to .. February I think. And if you´re lucky, you get picked! That prestigious the concert is. I hope I´ll get there finally some day :-)

  • konacno da neko ukroti i publiku :))

  • Noworoczny koncert to wielkie wydarzenie muzyczne w Wiedniu.Zawsze ogladam i slucham.Ogladajcie ,bo warto!!

  • i just love the conductors face at the beginning so serious yet funny lol

  • Love the way the conductor conducts the audience.

  • Ginobili, Maradona, Gelber, Barenboim, etc..... Barba ... dejale algo a los otros paises!!!

  • This is the perfect way to start a new year!I am keen on going there in future!

  • i love the audience clapping. haha.

  • I'm 18 years old, but still DIEING to go to one of these concerts where this song is played, and clap my fucking hands off

  • me too ^_^

  • LOL hes conducting both the orchestra and the audiences

  • he's acting like that, because he doesnt have to really conduct the orchestra, do u know how often they played this piece, i think they can play this by heart!!

  • bullshitartist... that's true.

    stop insulting him!

  • well, he's the only one i have seen so far that managed to get the audience to clap at the right time.

  • They do this at every Vienna New Years Concert as a tradition, just look up "Radetzky March 2008" or 2007, 2006, 2005, any year. The audience always claps along and the conductor almost always directs them as well.

  • I sent request for the New

Year's Concert of the Vienna Philharmonic on January 1, 2010 in January.

I wanted to purchase two tickets for 30 Eur.

In April Vienna Philharmonic sent me results of competition for the purchase of tickets and they said me that they are unable to offer me any tickets. :((((

  • 30 euro's? :p

  • Well, ~ the sum I spent throughout the whole year in the Viennese Opera..

  • thanks :-)) Im gonna think about it :-)))

  • Is it possible to attend this concert also for common people or is itjust for invitations? Dont you know, please? Thanks :-)

  • Prost Neujahr!!!

  • Grandios!!

  • excellent

  • Always a great crowd pleaser.

  • I remember listening to a recording of a previous Neujarhskonzert, and Willi Boskovksy was saying "Happy New Year" in German, then French...then accidentally said "Happy Christmas" in English, before correcting himself. I really think there are few pieces or composers that exemplify an entire nation like this one...although Ein Deutches Requiem comes pretty close.

Einfach super.

  • Make that three of us that wants to be there

  • just say 4 of us ;)

  • 5 of us ;)

  • i'm with you traveling hawk,i want to visit this place and enjoy the outstandingly gorgeous music . i will one day!

  • I so want to be there: the beautiful chandeliers, the wonderful music, the travel through centuries of music, the wondrous performances. It somehow doesn't fit into today's world, where few people stop to admire beauty in its simplest state.

  • thanks very much for posting this.Love this one

  • Spettacolare!

Ottima esecuzione con un Baremboim simpaticissimo.

  • spoko loko luz i spontan its in polish

  • INCREIBLE!

  • WOW!!!! Daniel can REALLY take COMMAND!!!! What a man!!! I LOVE HIM!!! Always have - always will ;)

  • People! I have some tickets for 2010 concert. But just for 31.12. Nice places. Please, write, if U has intention to get it.

  • My absolute favorite song ever! Bravo Strauss and Barenboim.

  • koji car!!!!

    BRAVO!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Is immer wieder schön

  • The best conductor of the audience in this march. Truly funny.

  • Im not fun of classic music

    but this rocks

  • Grandissimo il Direttoreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!

  • That conductor is hilarious!!

  • Oh, I watched this! Such charisma, Baremboim. The rest of the concert was beautiful, too!

  • It`s a tradition, that on the end of the NEW YEARS concert the RADETZKY MARCH is performed.

and its tradidion that the conducter takes the audiance into the "SHOW" and every year we are waiting for the special "SHOW" the condutor makes to GET the audience into the FINALE

  • Not that I'm very interested in classical music, but I saw this concert on TV and i just loved he way the conducter gets the audience into this "Radetzky Marsch", and it sounds so good! Fabulous!

  • amazing muzic
