same stuff as your plasterboard or drywall

    paper wrapped Gypsum

  • Da man.

  • Dude.. Your an Inspiration...

Mate if you lived in Brisbane, I would hire you just to watch you in action...

Im now going to attempt to do it like you did..

But it will take me 10 times longer...

Awesome Video. Your a bloody master at what you do.!

  • mate thats brill! why do i struggle to find fixers like you???? i can throw up 1000M2 of grid and tile with a labourer!!!! and im the fastest at that but fixers still try and beat me and they have no chance....you dont happen to live in the sydney area do ya? would love to throw a job your way

  • i served my time as a carpenter and are now venturing into evthin apart from plumbing an electrics ,,i done my own cafe and knew i was slow as it was my first time what product for sticking it??cornice cement or 45 or 60 base coat i tried using cornice cement it goes off very quick ,,shit hot man shit hot these are the types of vids that can teach capable peops the technique an more importantly the pace

  • Not trying to be smart .The lents your using are 5.4m .Whats it made from ?the gyp rock cove i use are 3m long i can do about 50 or so in a 7 hour day,It would be possible to do it if i had 5.4m lents.I did fit alot of cornice about 140 lents a week one man, 5inch to 7inch theres a lot more finishing to plaster cornice than to machine made moulding,Use to run about 90ft of insitu 7inch moulding a day .

Were the fuck has this got me know where when the work drys up your gone,

  • theres know way your fitting 300m in 6hrs not as a one man operation.the last time i heard a story like that was on tales from the unexpected

  • @studio163 well thats a shame you dont believe me , i can and do throw 60 lengths at 5.4 mtrs in 6 to 7 hrs depending on how many externals there are , this is three step , i can throw 150 lmtrs in the same time 6 odd hrs

at 6bucks a mtr you work it out smart ass

  • how about TRU-STRIDE STILTS?

  • You are good, I expect tempo cornice is easier than 90mm cove. Can you show a video of standard 90mm cove fixing if you have one, particularly the cutting of the cove in a mitre box.

  • unreal, very quick, stilts are great, fantastic work

  • very good man

  • If'n that were California-they would make you put in about 5 lbs of screws just for the cornice.

  • is this from down under? the board on the walls looks mostly glued to the studs. no nails or screws that have been mudded over. i like the "crown" moulding or cornice as you call it

  • is this from down under? the board on the walls looks mostly glued to the studs. no nails or screws that have been mudded over. i like the "crown" moulding or cornice as you call in

  • you are a legend!

  • Ok thanks that would be helpful. I have the box but sometimes when i make the cut it comes up on different angles and it doesnt match. Also is that premixed cornice cement, thanks for your help in advance.

  • It would be better if you can put an instructional video on how to do this step by step. You are doing it to fast.

How do you make the cuts in the mitre box.

  • Hey dude was wondering if you could give me a tip on miter cuts on raked ceilings, was having troubles with a 5 degree raked ceiling other day. I'm not to bad at it abit slow. You make it look so easy. Cheers

  • I'm a third year apprentice cornice is something i'm still finding challengling you make that look so easy nice job. I cant tell , how are your mitres , mine are always a little messy?

  • well done mate ! thanks for the video ! you deserve new Blundstones after this job !!

  • cirtus acid is ya friend when cornicing

  • hed be even quicker if he stayed up on his stilts and had everything up at his level, ythen he wouldnt have to fuck about with a hop up,and hed done all his cuts already so its just a matter of putting the coving in the right place, but he is good

  • i stand corrected. dunno about the inventing speed bit though. i know for a fact that the yanks have to work fast in order to get paid that why they invented so many things like silts drywall etc. im sooooo sorry.

  • You yanks invented speed in the building industry. You are fukin good. can you plaster as in skim coating like we do in england?

  • What a fuckin legend! No pissfartin around that's for sure. You make it look easy.

  • How funny is the other two poofs on Nuts and Bolts vid. your way better!!

  • It's amazing watching how you did it!!! Thanks for sharing and inspiring!!

Seems CSR cornice cement is an AU product, not sure if I can add any adhesive in the putty to hold them there from cracking down over time.

Did you use a rug or sponge to wipe out the excessive or smooth it? That's something I've never thought of...

    So that's getting old?

  • Mate.. Bloody awesome....

You can do my house anytime...

    And YES, you ARE GOOD!!

    Well done.

  • top video very quick and very clean. fuckin tards telling u how to do your job. evrybody has a individual way of doin shit on a jobsite as long as it works fuck it! i havent seen a individual person puttin up cornice that quick on the jobsites i work at keep it up

  • use your stilts to cornice

  • the bench is from a brand called tommy tucker. And what are u talking about the mitres are the same cut on a raked ceilings thats just stupied talk. they differnt agles mitres dickhead

  • Nice job! Fast and good. Dont see much of that cornice here in Ireland, mainly just simple coving. Seen in one of your comments about it not being paper covered? Not like coving so?

  • I like that stuff looks a treat to fit compared to some of the shit I have to fit over here. Any Jobs? Recession!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Righto thanks very much!

  • First of all, thankyou for posting this video. Dont know why people are whining, if they don't like it they can go somewhere else.

Can you please tell me what you are using to set the cornice in place? I've got to try this myself this weekend...*glulp*

  • unreal, people get on here and even give some guy shit about putting up a cornice..

as if he cares hes gettin paid..

    stupid shit.

  • what's the demand for this stuff? where r you at in the world? Nirvana and Wham on the radio. that's screwed up.

  • oh, forgot to rate your video.

5 star! hehe. Have a good one.

    Brian

    Precision Taping

  • oh ok, cool.

I dont know if we have that down here but I would assume it would be similar to duraband.

Thanx for the video, it was very useful and I look forward to seeing more of your work.

I myself use a set of columbia taping tools and will have a few videos of those in action shortly.

  • Hey Snitchy, first off I loved the video.

I've done a few drywall molds myself.

What did you use to hold them in place?

Down here we use Durabond90 to fasten them to the wall for a stronger hold. The substance you were using however looked more like mud.

Also do you only do one coat on those?

  • Congratulation mate - very cool. Obviousely you take great pride in what you do; it was a pleaseure watching your skils and enthusiasm.

Good luck to you and thanks for taking time to put this on youtube. Very very inspirational ! Nick from Sydney.

  • definitely worth a watch'n'learn video and youre good, but im better...at least after watching this video few more times anyways lol

this one's a keeper....hook us up with those next vids

    chur bruda

  • Fascinating! That can't be regular joint compound you are putting on the edges of the crown molding, or is it? It would seem that would fail in short order. It is amazing it holds so well no matter how light the molding is. That compound must have some magical adhesive in it. Keep the shirt on next time...... :-> Good video! Great to see other methods and workmanship tricks.
