No, Dan Brown is fine. He teaches a begginer's method, so it obviously won't be as fast as a speedsolving method. Someone with no cubing expiereince can't just jump into an advanced method; intermediate maybe, but not advanced. They have to start somewhere. Something about the way he explains just works for begginers.
You all are dumb sometimes! seriously... all you people that are like this is too fat, slow down, well thats because you are not ready for this yet. Go learn how to solve the cube, memorize all the algorithms then watch them. I can keep up EASILY! and everything is great, so go learn to solve it with the other videos, then watch these...
Lol i've only knew f2l for about 2 days and i can keep up easily, I'm averaging around 1min 30secs and decreasing. Could you give me any tips on becoming a speed cuber.
Dan Brown's methods are horribly slow. Thrawst's videos are amazing. Dan Brown and Thrawst should never be spoken about in the same breath, it's sacreligious.
@LanceTheBlueKnight don't discourage people from watching dan's method. i used to use it and got it down to 1 minute, it's a great beginner method tutorial
it can be pronounced either way and since the correct notation for a counter-clockwise move is for example R' and the ' is read as "prime", it is actually more correct to say "prime"
the typographical errors i was talking about does not pertain to what Thrawst is showing us but rather pertains to some algorithms found in Lars Vandenbergh's website. just to tell everybody that Thrawst tutorial is correct and clear.
hey thrawst...i like this tutorial a lot...now that i can do the cross for 3-5 seconds...u make me do the F2L faster with this tutorial..thanks...the only problem is the top layer...^^
By the way, there are some typographical errors that you will find but i know you will discover them as you go along, you ask me if you encounter them and i will be glad to tell you.
pretty good; The cube with only a few stickers is a very good teaching tool in F2L because i find that newbies are confused by all the colors - i was trying to get something like it for a while now.
As for some constructive criticism: I think the frequent cuts made it a little confusing at times, and it wasn't exactly clear what was different in the cube from cut to cut.

I learnt F2L without any algorithms... its just one of those things where if you practice it enough you just know where the sides go to match.
Mankey52 2 years ago
or you could just do
U R U' R'to match it up....

dude, tutorials make much more sense when done in one long run, not constantly cutting to different sections!!!!!

I don't think naming it differently affects the solve time o.0

Not to be mean thrawst but I don't suggest anyone does non-intuitive F2L its slower to look for cases
nenlon 4 years ago
Yea instead of looking for cases you should look for pairs.
