    PEACE

  • @notablytheillest Vindictive Villain comin soon.

  • Aesop Rock+style wars= Life :)

  • style wars is a fuckin' great movie...have madd respect for this tribute thanks aesop

  • stayhigh 149... whattup.. big up all who got up in the classic...

  • They said his eyes were spiraling back when he hit the mat, woke, first words "Oh, it's like that?"

  • hazy dazy stay purple

  • This song is so sick, but the audio quality doesnt sound right to me for some reason maybe it was copied from somwhere?

  • rappin is my radio - graffiti is my tv - b boys keep them windmills breezy!

    oh man this video delivers!

    favorite song from bazooka tooth

  • Anyone know what year this came out?

  • This song is on the album Bazooka Tooth, which came out on September 23, 2003.

  • you fools don't know REAL hip-hop. Listen to more Aes. and some Rugged man shit. R.A.. Crustified Dibbs. Then talk some shit.....bitches.

  • R.A. is some old shit!! Good call. Nice to see no one bringing up Lil W in a comment... i can't even bring it in me to type out his name!

  • well lets not forget Binary Star K.M.D. or Charizma children

  • i dont remember this song from the game

  • on the game it was a remix.. way different. i like the real song way more.. the remix was kinda dope imo, but.. nothing can compare

  • you had to unlock it

  • this song is pure insanity man you really feel this

  • this shyd rocks....this is a throwback to true hip hop, without all the sugary modern crap productions.....

as usual, i have to listen 2 aesop like 4 times before i truly understand what he's saying.....dude's a true lyricist

  • This song is the verbal manifestation of underground hip hop. Granted from a very NY perspective but certainly paints the appropriate picture of the 4 elements and the terrible persecution of Graff, the most accessible public art.

  • shitty quality

  • I do hear a beat, and it's good.

  • Blockhead and Aesop make his beats quality some people have no taste in music

  • It depends what your listening for; if you are listening for noise then thats what you're going to hear.

If you listen to the song you will fine that it's quite amazing.

If you tell your self that it is noise thats all you will hear.

  • anyone hear the team teamwork version of this song with the goron caves beat, shit was fresh

  • all of you guys have random screen names

  • i feel you this beat sukx...aesop is hella dope but not every thing he makes is tight...just my oppion

  • crazy... simply crazy... this beat is the sickest

  • i agree with you this beat just dosent sound good cuz of the video quality its actually a pretty decent beat thou listen to the Goron Village remix

  • The beat is typical multilayer bullshit that El-p Dose I mean he's dope but it's something you have to get used to you should check out Edan. his beats are similar also alot of cannibal ox ad Vast Aires stuff has beats like this too

  • Aesop produced this himself

  • Listen to the bass and you will be able to follow it.

  • "Rappin' is my radio, graffiti is my TV, B-Boys keep your windmills breezy."

just love this line, if you need to define "underground" that's the line.

  • i've been quoting this line left and right.. it really sums shit up.

  • stop it at 1:28 and he signs his name there to but again respect by reason not hype goes further in the city than most know

  • yo at the very end, is that aesop about to tag that glass? cause i thought that clip was like of famous graff writers.. but it looked like aes at the end

  • that's definatly Aes...i'm pretty sure he writes just based on his music...his degree in art would support that hypothesis as well

  • Not only that but people were exposed to everything back then and now they're only exposed to one generic formula and one concept of what "Hip-Hop" is which is why an album like 3 Feet High and Rising by De La Soul was popular back then. An equivalent album today wouldn't even come close. New sounds and styles caught people's attention but today it's rejected like it's the plague. If it isn't like what the media gives them permission to like or what their sheep friends like it's rejected.

  • Hip-Hop was just too free and pure of a movement to be trusted and that's why there was a corporate assault on it. You can't wipe it out but you can spoil it by throwing money at it and redirecting the course that it takes - and this is exactly what happened. Compare the lyrics and subject matter of what happened back in the day with the garbage of today - they're in completely different categories. Long live Def Jux, Rhymesayers, Stones Throw, etc.

  • TROOF!

  • @Indhegoh I think everyone who enjoys any music at all should read this comment.

  • @Indhegoh

    nothinleft2zay !

  • hip hop nowaday, need the "Mohammed Dali" attitude!

  • Hell yeah Vast Aire!. Anyone who gets his recognition has gotta be dope.

  • Too bad things will never be this raw or pure ever again. This was a time when people did this just to do it and no one got paid off of it. It was pure self-expression by frustrated people. If I could go back in time I would try to witness at least part of the early days of Hip-Hop. I know there's still people living Hip-Hop today but it's not the same as this.

  • well u right! But i guess, people will get frustrated exactly because of that reasons & and the hole ishhhh starts again even more powerful than 1995-2000...it will bammmm & boooomm like 1985 when the cold crush bros. & sugar hill gang

    bust their ryhmes like rebels!

  • fucked up youtube & Owners......let disappear videos every day - sucks my off - hate you!

  • MUST NOT SLEEP

    MUST WARN OTHERS!

    how many ppl actually

    considered getting that?

im actually so tempted to get it done!

not just for the support but for the meaning!

aesop rock kept hiphop in order so we owe him a bit of gratitude! plus he's down wit bombing! big upz bro!

  • It has alot to do with a period in his life when he was really depressed. I think it might have to do with the fact that society can cause grey and dark feelings and that many people succumb to conformity and lose touch with individuality.

  • TRULY ONE OF THE BEST OF TODAY'S MUZIC

  • dopeness

  • Get the Style Wars dvd its like the hip hop bible. Sick Bazooka tooth track. Aesops dope. Classic idea for a track/video.Nice nice nice.

  • Vast aire and blockhead in the background, love this shit.

  • this video is from big nosies, little movie

  • killa of innovators

  • aesop is dank yo his shit is sooo hard

  • this is from Style Wars..u better ask sumbody.Know ur history

  • The video's like this to give it a "Life on the streets" kind of feel to it, giving you a firsthand account of it. Yeah, it's not amazing, but keep in mind that it was his first video, so obviously it's not going to be the biggest budget in the world.

  • Isnt this video from the Style wars DVD. Alot of that is just footage from the movie

  • Was it? I haven't seen Style Wars yet.

  • this is aes' fifth or 6th video bro

  • WTF IS HE SAYIN!!?!?! jeeez hahah every time i think of that

kinda slurs his words together like goretex haha

  • i hate the dj pawl remix, it's like a simplified version for the masses... i love the original, produced by aes himself, complex and multi layered

  • Dope Bombin' track! Go All City!!

  • better whens its the remix

  • I fucking love this song

  • aesop rock is the shit with this shit.

  • WTF Aesop!?!? Sounds like porno music

  • And really Baaaad porno music like from the eighties on those wore out vhs tapes your dad use to watch,, you know the ones, dont act like my dad was the only one with a porno with this soundtrack..

  • it makes sense that the sound and the video are poor in the same video tape style 'style wars' was recorded in. get a clue. aes' gots flow for days. see ya niggies.

  • its hangar 18s dj remix lol

    80s porn sounding

dj pawel is a monster from hell

  • shut up and listen

  • what are they saying in the intro lmao

  • "Who stole the uprock? Who stole the paint? Who stole the cypher slayers? Who buffed the trains? Who stole the mixtapes? Who stole the fame?" That's the chorus from "Train Buffer" by Aesop Rock (with production by El-P).

  • what album is "train buffer" from?

  • It's on the album called "Urban Renewal Program".

  • is that vast in the back?

  • must warn others

  • Aesop is one of the greatest to ever bless the mic!

  • great video. i love this beat.

  • great remix AWESOME movie alot of this video was copied from "Style Wars" aesop owns.

  • Nice, you tube is great for these underground vids i would never see otherwise.

    Props.

  • I herd the orphanage freestyle a few times since I posted that reply and herd Sage say he wasn't part of the orphanage but he did do some songs with them

  • no. hes not. i wouldnt say him and aes are exactly cool either.

  • sage isnt in orphanage

  • DJ PaWl did a better version, its a great song

  • Four elements of hip-hop: bboying, MCing, DJing, and graffiti... remember that nd then take a look at todays trash

  • the NEW 4 elements of hiphop: ice, spinning rims, grillz, and sizyrup. *cough*

  • word its just not real anymore

  • the remix beats this version.

  • genius.pure genius.

  • aesop knows the hip hop elements well thats rare

  • added.. that rules

  • Hell ya, i like the remix better

  • This is on the dvd that came with Def Jux presents. I think it was the third one.

  • Actually, that dvd has this same video, but the music is a remix by DJ PaWL.

  • Did anybody know that Aesop Rock is part of a group, I think it's called the Orphanage. the rappers are Sage Francis,Atmospher,Soul Position,Eyedea & Abilities, and illogic. I'm a Big fan of them all.

  • yeah. have you heard their freestyle session? i think aesop is also a member of atoms family but im not sure
