I was sooo happy to see this old song! My Grandpa used to sing it to me when I was little. This version was missing my favorite part, which went... Pa sold the mules and he went on a spree, he said at last I've found my liberty. Ma said cut out your braggin' as she hitched him to the wagon, and the covered wagon rolled right along.

ugh, this video is upsetting me. I had a record with this song on it, that can't play on modern record players. I've lost it and i'm afraid it's already too late to retrieve it. I've somehow lost both the crank operated player and the big desk-size player we found it in to begin with. Good song, but I'm dying to get my good old record back.

I suppose it's better to know someone's keeping the memory going than to forget entirely.
