As i have understood the first MSTS 2 was cancelled because of some desputes between microsoft and kuju. So kuju went out of the whole deal and created their own train sim. This resulted in that microsoft could not reuse anything from the first MSTS2 because of legal issues. However the second MSTS 2 is all microsoft so if that's cancelled, it can be dug up and continued on whenever they want.

The most recent MSTS2 that microsoft were working on has been cancelled. They are no longer making the game because of COSTS. I was looking forwarded to it. Well i guess they will continue if we can make a petion and raise money.

No. But if you purchased a original game, u can download some from official website and also can purchase additional trains etc.

Just some info would like to share about MSTS 2 from 2003. That game was being developed by KUJU along with Microsoft. Same as the first MSTS. The problem that caused the game's failure, was that KUJU's partnership with MS came to an end by late 2003. Microsoft, was only devoting time to the Flight Sim softwares. They did not know how or had enough sources to program the Train Sim game at that time, so they scrap it back them.

Train Simulator 1 isn't really worth your money now (it's too old, 7 years exactly). Train Simulator 2 looks much better and more worth your money.

Advice needed. I have trainz 2004 and the original msts. am a uk rail fan. i can't decide between: trainz (2009)and downloading the Gner class92,the virgin pendolino and the eurostar or Rail simulator with the add-ons of the pendolino- i think its called voyager and the gner add ons or The Gner part 1 and part2 of the east coast m'line to go with my existing train simulator (even though am not sure its compatible) any voyager users, could you please tell me the routes. cheers

I totally agree. Cancelling the original MSTS 2 was a bad move. I believe that the choice of routes and trains in the new MSTS 2 is very poor compared to the train and route roster from the original MSTS 2.

What I remember reading from old previews of the first MSTS 2, it said it would include the Horseshoe Curve Route in Pennsylvania in the 1940s, Norfolk Terminal in the 2000s in Virginia, the Somerset & Dorset Line in Southern England in the 1960s, a Swiss Alps route set in the 2000s, and a German route (near Essen) in the 2000s.

I have all version of windows. But that's not my problem. I can currently play FSX at medium settings. I heard that TS2 will use the same engine. So, if they add new features, I'll have to play it on low quality if I want to have a decent frame rate.
