@zytigon The bible is clear on the nature of hell and it is quite repulsive--one of the most abhorrent ideas humanity has ever conceived. Revelations 20:15 "Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire." Why a loving god would create a lake of fire is beyond me but most people do not consider him kind, if they did they would not prey to him.

really? this is great for children? cause even as an 8 year old I saw a bunch of problems with this. for one, jesus' existence wasn't really necessary in the first place, because god can just snap his almighty fingers and will his desired configuration into place. why the sacrifice? and how can you even sacrifice something of which you have an infinite supply? god could resurrect jesus or create a hundred more jesuses just with the power of his will. sounds like very primitive lore.

@liltelah I would say it is the other way around, and 158 people need to. They still believe in it, and believe Jesus was a sacrifice of an all powerful God that can do anything and not need sacrifices (which is obviously contradictory). Furhtermore, they must not know about numerous contradictions, such as what is allowed on the Sabbath and if God keeps a record of wrongs. The Bible states God is love, love keeps no record of wrongs, but God punishes people and teasing him wont be forgiven.
Why does god need to make a sacrifice in order to forgive us? Isn't he all powerful? Who is he making the sacrifice to? That would mean god was not as powerful as Satan whom he supposedly created. How can anyone trust, let alone worship, a guy who lost control of his own creation ? By the way, I have been asked why I capitalize the S of Satan but not the g of god, so I'll quickly explain. There have been thousands of "gods" throughout time, but only one satan in history.
@gilless429 I capitalise God and Satan, because the Christians, Jews and Muslims were too lazy to think of a name for their god, it was given the name God for the Christian one, Allah for the Muslim one, and various things such as G-d, jehovah, yeaweh, etc for the Judaic god (which are all really the same god, maybe that is the real holy trinity?). When I talk about a god in general I leave it un-capitalised, but when reffering to the Biblical god, I capitalise it (except like that).
@gilless429 For the god/God, its kinda like how Babe (no idea where that name came from) was named Pig. So he was a pig, with the name Pig. Pig was a pig. When referring to him, by his name, Pig should be capitalised, when calling him a pig, or talking about another pig, it is pig, in lower case.

@blackjeffrey1 When they speak their language (arabic) they should be careful with capitals or not when talking about Allah, but when talking english for example, they must alternate between Allah and god, so the capitalisation must be ever-present for his name. But like christians they disappoint in the sense that they always say Allah instead of using god when needed.

When I ask a christian why they do that either they don't know or they say it's because they don't want to insult him. He created the whole universe, but when a human doesn't capitalise a reference to him he gets his feelings hurt...

@spietproductions What is the point of using Bible verses in arguments for the existence of God? Their inerrant relies on the assumption that they are inerrant. You need to prove this before using it to prove something else. If God loves his creation, he will be a loving heavenly Father who welcomes the prodigals when they come before him in heaven. Jesus will be like in John 8v11, " Then neither do I condemn you ). People would immediately see the real goodness of God and love him. A good God could not be so cruel as to send humans to a hell.

@zytigon The bible is clear on the nature of hell and it is quite repulsive--one of the most abhorrent ideas humanity has ever conceived. Revelations 20:15 "Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire." Why a loving god would create a lake of fire is beyond me but most people do not consider him kind, if they did they would not prey to him.

really? this is great for children? cause even as an 8 year old I saw a bunch of problems with this. for one, jesus' existence wasn't really necessary in the first place, because god can just snap his almighty fingers and will his desired configuration into place. why the sacrifice? and how can you even sacrifice something of which you have an infinite supply? god could resurrect jesus or create a hundred more jesuses just with the power of his will. sounds like very primitive lore.

@liltelah I would say it is the other way around, and 158 people need to. They still believe in it, and believe Jesus was a sacrifice of an all powerful God that can do anything and not need sacrifices (which is obviously contradictory). Furhtermore, they must not know about numerous contradictions, such as what is allowed on the Sabbath and if God keeps a record of wrongs. The Bible states God is love, love keeps no record of wrongs, but God punishes people and teasing him wont be forgiven.

That would mean god was not as powerful as Satan whom he supposedly created. How can anyone trust, let alone worship, a guy who lost control of his own creation ? By the way, I have been asked why I capitalize the S of Satan but not the g of god, so I'll quickly explain. There have been thousands of "gods" throughout time, but only one satan in history.

@gilless429 I capitalise God and Satan, because the Christians, Jews and Muslims were too lazy to think of a name for their god, it was given the name God for the Christian one, Allah for the Muslim one, and various things such as G-d, jehovah, yeaweh, etc for the Judaic god (which are all really the same god, maybe that is the real holy trinity?). When I talk about a god in general I leave it un-capitalised, but when reffering to the Biblical god, I capitalise it (except like that).

@gilless429 For the god/God, its kinda like how Babe (no idea where that name came from) was named Pig. So he was a pig, with the name Pig. Pig was a pig. When referring to him, by his name, Pig should be capitalised, when calling him a pig, or talking about another pig, it is pig, in lower case.
I dislike people who continually have it capitalised, even when they are clearly using it as a noun, rather than a proper noun.

@blackjeffrey1 When they speak their language (arabic) they should be careful with capitals or not when talking about Allah, but when talking english for example, they must alternate between Allah and god, so the capitalisation must be ever-present for his name. But like christians they disappoint in the sense that they always say Allah instead of using god when needed.

When I ask a christian why they do that either they don't know or they say it's because they don't want to insult him. He created the whole universe, but when a human doesn't capitalise a reference to him he gets his feelings hurt...

Also, heaven must be getting pretty full, you'd want to increase your chances of getting in by making God think you will suck up to him more.

@spietproductions So lets review. God created a tool, to use the tool (which he didn't need to do), which benefits from its use. While doing this he covers up heaps of evil in the OT. This in know way demonstrates love, but without any analysis, it can appear that way. So he fools people into thinking he loves them, so they worship him.
Also, it shows him as evil, pointlessly killing his own son, kinda like what Abraham was going to do.

You need to prove this before using it to prove something else. Quit with the defence mechanisms. If you need God to understand the Bible, the Bible is pointless, God can tell you directly. So you clearly don't. So I can understand it. And guess what, it isn't the inerrant word of God.

God does not exist. You calling me a tool of Satan would require you to first prove your religion is true.
Stop trying to lower my status so you can ignore what I say. Explain how God can be a jealous god that is not jealous.

@schnauzeroo1 The characters God and Satan, in the fairy tale are evil and good respectively. I can say Harry Potter is good, Voldemort is evil, yet people wont think I actually think they exist. The same can be said for God and Satan. In the Bible, Satan is good (for the most part), and God is evil.
Sure they don't exist in reality, but in the Bible, they are good/evil.

The Bible is a fairytale people believe is true, and try to force it and the rules contained within onto everyone. This gives me reason to show why it is false.
How am I contradicting myself? By not debating all fairytales?
Satan does not exist, stop saying I am just following him, and debate my arguments.

@schnauzeroo1 If anyone's words are meaningless it is yours, as you said that God being a jealous god that is not jealous, even though that definition is impossible, doesn't mean God doesn't exist.
Would you care to stop focusing on trying to falsely show I contradict myself, and get back to defending the Bible, and explain away this contradiction, and give me my 3 sided square.

@blackjeffrey1 HaHa......I am not here to defend that which needs no defense. While you continue to believe that the Bible is a fairytale, others KNOW what it is. Those of us who KNOW what it is have no need to defend anything. Do you really believe God needs anyone to defend His word? You continue to speak what satan wants you to say and keep trying to convince yourself that you are right. Obviously you have doubts, otherwise you would not be here. @schnauzeroo1 I know it is a fairytale you believe it is true. You make the claim it is true, you need to defend that claim. That is how things work. If you make a claim, you need to defend it. But no, you want it to be the other way around. If you want to play like that, prove I am not a god. I say Satan is good, prove that claim false.
I know I am right, I do not need to convince myself of that. I have no doubts, I am here to try and stop religion being forced onto others.

As far as you are concerned, contradictions are not a problem, and do not lesson the value of an argument or the truthfulness of something.
You had said that a contradiction in the meaning of God does not mean God doesn't exist. So what is wrong with contradictions?
Take note, this is not an admission that I have made any. You still need to prove that.
And I am not saying what Satan wants, I am just saying what you don't want, so you blame Satan.

@blackjeffrey1 Study further. The root idea in the Old Testament word jealous is to become intensely red. It seems to refer to the changing color of the face or the rising heat of the emotions which are associated with intense zeal or fervor over something dear to us. In fact, both the Old and New Testament words for jealousy are also translated “zeal.” Being jealous and being zealous are essentially the same thing in the Bible. God is zealous—eager about protecting what is precious to Him.

@schnauzeroo1 He is eager about making sure no one else gets it. This is essentially jealousy. If something threatens his ownership of us, he will either destroy it or us. This is jealousy. If we already belong to something else, he still wants us. He will either destroy what has us, such as he did with the prophets of Baal, or destroy us, so no one else can have us. This is jealousy. Another example was when everyone was worshipping a calf, and God demanded they be killed. He lost them.

@schnauzeroo1 It is the religious people that want to confuse people who try to learn about God. They want people to believe their God is real and worship him and do as their religion says. So they cover up the truth.
I am here to try to stop religious people pushing their beliefs onto others. The fewer people who believe, the less likely they are to try it, because there is more who will oppose them.
Also, as this is on the internet for everyone to see, those wanting to find out about God can.

If my goal is to educate people about God, the logical place is where Christians or others seeking info on God would look. So a Christian video makes perfect sense.

Much of the bible is in parables. Those who seek to know what the meaning is behind the parables will be given that, in God's time, not your time. Those who refute it or say there is no God, are not seeking Him, but are sent by satan to TRY to cause believers to stumble. I am certain of God and know that when I die, I will have everlasting life. Those who wish to try to change my beliefs on this will come up against a brick wall. I pray for those stubborn in their belief that God does not exist.

@schnauzeroo1 Prove that God exists if you are so certain. I am not sent by Satan. Things like this are defence mechanism of religion. They know they cannot withstand scrutiny, so they say anyone trying to scrutinise them are fools or working for Satan. They also claim you cannot question it, as it is from God.
It is not a belief that God doesn't exist. It is a fact.

1 John 4:8 states God is Love.
1 Corinthians 13:4 defines love as not being jealous (part of the definition). So God is not jealous.
Exodus 34:14 states that God is a jealous god.
It is impossible.

Also, the only time religious people are persecuted, is by other religious people, or when they try to push their barbaric beliefs onto others.
Atheists however are quite often persecuted by the religious (in the US of A at least), just for being atheist.

So it is perfectly fine to be a servant, as long as he lives for a day or 2, because he is your property? Face it, regardless of what you call it, it is slavery.
As for not taking others as slaves, didn't God command that with a whole bunch of different people, especially the girls.
