  • I like this song

  • Well done, more Kaja Goo Goo songs... Thank you...

  • This was flat out sick. The bassline to this song is unreal...I can't believe you are able to play it. Is there any chance you could do the whole song for us?

  • genius bass line in pop terms

  • i love listening basslines. if you produced all songs without the bassline it wud just show what an important part the bassist plays. you cant allways tell the bassline but take it away and boy do you miss it. great keep it up.

  • I love this bassline.

Do you have the sheet music for this or did you learn to play it by ear?

  • This beggs the question...

  • @rsp196607

  • Nice!! That's a popping jam, I gotta learn that one now.. sweet bass too...

  • Coool!!

  • just about to leave to see the guys in norwich! great playing mr, love that bass line xx x j

  • Going to see Kajagoogoo in a few weeks just to see Nick Beggs my hero

  • awesome !

  • I love your expression at 1:19 Gary!! Looks like you spotted something and thought "I must sort that shit out later!" and whilst playing too.

Oh, do you fancy posting the full length version of this? Great song, brilliant playing, deserves to be seen in full.

    Cheers mate.

  • Nice dude, you should try Hang on Now on for size, thats got a pretty sick bass line too.

  • WHOA!!! Awesome man! I can't stop watching this vid! I was a kid in the 80's, loved Kajagoogoo, particularly this song and Too Shy, but most of all I really wanted to play bass. Never did, took up synths instead. But watching this makes me wanna play again.

I particularly like your feelings you portray whilst playing.

You are AWESOME dude!! Well done indeed!

  • Thank you very much!

I love this bassline... It inspired me to go out and buy a StingRay HH bass!

    All the best!

  • Hi!

I try to ignore the instrument when I'm playing... it makes for much more feel in the piece.

    Peace.

  • WOW...You definitely should play and upload more of Kajagoogoo!!! Thanks to this vid I learned the bassline ;) and it's one of my favourite! All the best.

  • That was amazing. I wish I could play like that.

  • There's another bassist here who did an awesome job on "Too Shy." I'd love to see YOUR take! Since they're one of your favourites you should post that one up! I mean, that's the ultimate Nick Beggs bassline, wouldn't you say? And played by someone who's a true fan, I know it'll be great.

  • Effortless! You make it look so easy. :-) And obviously played with feeling. You are great. It's not every bassist who's up to Beggs' basslines! You definitely are. Keep it up, man! And yeah, "Ooh to Be Ah" was the $#!+ back in the day! Sounds great, man, I'll be lookin out for more of your vids.

  • I often play Kajagoogoo bass lines, as they are one of my favorite bands of all time. You have a great bass to play Kaja, and this is one of Nicks most intricate songs, so I salute you for your amazing job!

  • played well with a cool style...

  • Nick B's bass lines were a little quirky and not easy to play.

Have a stab at 'Frayo' and 'Too Shy' when you're in the mood.

Difficult to sort out the bass guitar notes from the synth notes when doing it by ear.

  • Great bassline, great playing.

  • .. often underrated !! There are so many 80s bassplayers who have awesome lines - just like this song has them. Here and there some work with THE stick adds more colour .. maybe I needa buy one in a while ... nice jamming, by the way ... :o) don´t care too much about tabs or sheets when starting out with a new song. This even strongens the groove in my opinion !

    Good work, enjoyable ...
