Halloween of 2002 in Chicago. Too bad we sucked that night. Awesome quote that the band put in the dvd. Too bad they didn't realize that Matt's raspy voice gave a raw edge that added a weird feeling to Good Mourning which I thought was brilliant. Too bad they're not the most exciting live band and are hit and miss some nights according to friends who have seen them. Still one of the best punk bands in the last 12 years along with the Lawrence Arms. Still my favorite band despite their shit now.

This is all my opinion but I have to add the following.....

1. Godammit is not their best album, but their best punk rock album. Agony & Irony is their most accomplished record and has allowed Dan to record his best songs without a doubt.

2. Derek is by far the best drummer this band has had since Glenn was not nearly as involved in the songwriting process as Derek isand Mike was in the band for such a short space of time (in relation to the bands career) it must have been for a reason.

I really do love Derek's style. Travis's style is also admirable, but it's really completely different. It's kind of like...Travis IS blink-182 musically (at least leading talent-wise) and Derek simply perfectly compliments the music the way he plays. And that isn't anything against either band or drummer, it's just kind of the way I see it.

It's not the subtle agony of sorry about that or trouble breathing (not live, but recording, the metro live one is fasst) but over all this song reallly sum's up gettin out of hs. started off just not really knowing how to sing, just screaming basically. vocals changed due to wear & tear from screaming so much, excessive drug & alcohol use, he blew out his vocal chords, then took a lot of vocal lessons which landed him at his current vocals on agony & irony, you can tell that he sings more with his diaphragm not just his throat.
