  • I used to work out at the same gym as Tony a long time (30+ years) ago and he was/is a guy with a good heart. Friendly, cheerful, always giving and taking advice with no attitude. He would often drive up in a white corvette and work out with two beautiful women. Sometimes he would say that if he had the legs of Jean Paul Guillame (An eventual Mr. Olympia contender) who worked out at that gym also, he could win the Mr Olympia. I agree. I wish him the best.

  • This was on mtv back in the day!@

  • looks more like 5 plates.

  • that was a min of 405 . could of been 495, hard to tell.

  • whats the difference between tony atlas and regular bench press? :)

  • @Hellem09 Regular ones aren't done by Tony Atlas.

  • you are stil huge tony no matter how old you are ! I only will I could look that good at your are bud!!!

  • saba simba changed his name

  • @eslubin Now that's what I call a wrestling fan! Not many people know or remember Tony Atlas as Saba Simba. lol

  • Yeah, he and Rocky Johnson were two of the first big steroid guys in wrestling. They were a great tag team back in the 80's

  • Actually, bluegrassman...you are right...he doesn't do steroids...ANYMORE. He did a biography on TV talking about his past in wrestling and openly admitted to taking D-Bol for years. So looks like you are a fucking genious.

  • I had the privilege of meeting Tony at the first bench press meet I ever went to. Back in 06' in Auburn Maine. It was awesome! And he was my spotter =)

  • I watched him bench 500 no spotter like it was a feather and he did not make a sound.

  • And he wasn't even maxing in this vid. Amazing. See, this is what NATURAL excerise & proper weight training can do. Atlas is 56 now, and still hits the weights and is said to still be able to bench 400 pounds. That's amazing. For those that don't think it's possible, this shows what can be done, if you do it right. Longevity in top physical shape, and compare him to other steroided out 50 year old wrestlers, he won't pop a hip if he sits up too quick or decides to take a few bumps. ATLAS!!!!!!!!

  • that guy has laughing problems kinda like Drake's old girlfriend in Drake and Josh :D

  • Tony is so huge in person!

  • All I need to be able to do is lift my lovely little lady of a buck twenty (120, lbs) and that's good enuff for me. ha ha lol. Seriously, great strength!!

  • thatz still amazing considering how he used to bench 650

  • thatz still amazing considering how he used to bench 650

  • This is a clip of the orginal pilot episode of MTV"s True Life I wann be a Pro Wrestler

  • I can beat Tony Atlas in a bar fight.

  • i remember seeing about a 5'9" black dude bench this weight at my YMCA when i was in high school, he was chubby and you couldnt point out a single muscle on his body, he had NO definition.

When i saw him get ready for it i left the area cause i didnt want to make a noise and distract him and get blamed, since then 405 seems like a reality.

  • but i bet his chubby ass put ur lame ass to shame, even now huh. i know a lot of power lifters that don't have definition and they would crush your skull like a skittle, its assholes like you that make this country fucked up. u should die

  • That's a pretty extreme & unnecessary attitude to have. What a jackass you are huh?

  • yh that is a bit strong

  • EXACTLY, bygmyketv...

It's amazing how many haters whine about a lifter's 'definition', as if he cares when he's bench pressing 400+ pounds.

These people need to lift their little 5lb dumbells, drink a seaweed shake, then STFU.

  • Tony Atlas physique was very similar to Sergio Oliva's.

  • Yes good observation! Although I think in Tony's prime his traps were bigger than Sergio's. I always remember when I first saw Tony Atlas in '77-78, when I was 7 or 8 yrs old, that I was blown away by the size of his traps even back then. He had gotten even bigger in the early to mid '80's.

  • Tony Atlas physique look alot like Sergio Oliva's, especially in his younger days.

  • He is in great shape.

  • listen dumbasses if a person has good genetics like cena they are the kind they look ripped up at 15 after working out for 6 weeks or so, i worked out for 8 years and still couldn't get abs or defintion , and no i never took roids

  • Damn, his chest looks larger here than it did 15-20years earlier when he was with the WWF..

  • tony does not do steroids you idiots

  • back in the day he was

  • @bluegrassman776 yeah he don't do steroids i believe he didn't even in his prime - but he is such a nice guy just so humble and kind just does his training evem though he is a bit crazy with Abraham Washington haha

  • He's admitted to having used Steroids in the past, it was mostly doctor prescribed. He probably doesn't use them anymore.

  • he did in the beginning and peak of his career. He might not do it now because of the rigorous drug policies implemented by TitanSports & the WWE.

  • don't worry about them. these fattys are always trying to hide their jealousy of a person actually in shape by saying they all do steroids. don't insult them, pitty them.

  • @bluegrassman776 He used to do steroids, back when he was the WWF champ, but hasn't done them in ages. He was ashamed of his body when he stopped, so he always wore that black robe. He's a real nice guy.

  • @LongHairRocker he was NEVER WWE champ

  • @bluegrassman776 How the fuck do you know that

  • @thenewgeneration123 how does one know for sure that he does?

  • @bluegrassman776 he did

  • @bluegrassman776 have you seen him now???? his in horrible shape of copurse he was aroider

  • @TheWildtransam Bullshit. He still looks great.

  • how do you know he dosent use steroids. Are you around him 24 7

  • @bluegrassman776 wat are u smoking :L:L

  • Tony is a very down to earth decent humble individual.I met him at a grey hound bus terminal in portland maine about 10 years ago

  • he can bench 650

  • he should wrestle again

  • Okay so tony atlas is huge hes bigger than cena does he do STEROIDS

  • absofuckinglutely

  • I doubt cena does steroids, he's not very big, just toned. I bench more than cena

  • Tony...I love ya man. You were an awesome inspiration to me as a young man growing up. Stay Strong for as Long as God allows bro!

  • For all those people claiming Tony isn't that impressive...do you guys know Tony was able to bench press 600+ pounds in his prime?

And how many 60-year olds do you people know, that can lift these weights or have Tony's physique?

Tony Atlas is a legend and I feel sorry that he's broke and forgotten.

  • he is still as big as he was befor ..the only diffis that he was befor more ripped / therefor better looking

  • for a man in his age he great looking

  • tony goes to my gym in lewiston maine, hes a lot bigger in person lol

  • YES he is still huge,I met him in clevland last yr and he was big.

  • yes he is, but he is really cool to sit and talk 2. I met him when he wa in buffalo in december with boogeyman and mark henry. Henry is a asshole

  • Hes actually, 64 I think.

  • Ya, I say it too...

405 three reps at his age is great!

  • 405 three reps at his age is great.

  • that's why him and Mark Henry are good together

  • 405 for three reps raw is like top 100 in the world your an idiot if you think its not impressive

  • no its not..especially with all the steroids out there today

probably 5000 guys that can rep 405 3 times..

i did it once clean in feb 2000

    ive never touched a roid,,

  • atlas is 55 yrs old and is drug free.

you don't do steriods @55 einstein

  • You're a moron. Simple as that.

The odd thing is, if Atlas' money is really gone. Who's supplying the juice? That much, is very expensive....

  • Tony isn't on the juice, that's natural. You can tell. He's still huge, but it's naturally broken down with age. In better shape than 99 percent of 64 year old. Steroids would've eaten a body up if you've taken them for 30 - 40 years if he's 64 and been training since his 20's.

  • why wouldnt u tbh?

  • To think that all of that muscle is used to carry Mark Henry's bags around!

Dude, he could still be his own wrestler in his shape. He doesn't need Henry!

  • yep you are 100% right.

  • more like 110% right

  • Well that may be true, but Henry does need him apparently.

Rumor has it that they paired the two so that Atlas could assist Henry on the road, so Henry could spend more time getting himself into shape, and Atlas helping him with his diet, as we all know Henry, strong as he is, likes to indulge himself.

Also Atlas came back to WWE as he needs the money, and it seemed logical to put the 2 men who have similar backgrounds together.

  • yes I ran into them last yr in a clevland hotel, tony had 3 egg whites from hard boilded eggs and 2 mini muffins,MARK was running late and left at 9am to catch a 9.20 flight, but we were 5 min from the airport, tont was huge still, wearing slack and a tight mussle shirt, lol

  • tony atlas the black superman

  • anytime you lift 405 for 3 reps no matter how big you are is great

  • I agree good post to many haters,im 45 and lift 3-4 times a week,my bench has gone from 310 at age 28 to 240 a few times every once in awhile just to see how much I have,I do all lifting not just arms like most kids in the gym.

  • 405 for 3 reps not that impressive for a man that size, but he's in his 50's,so I guess it's pretty damn good..

  • yea ok,you are a loser dude

  • @buyystocks Exactly why would you say he is a loser? All you fucking geeks should Google him and look at his accomplishments. He's a loser because he lost much of his money? Even Donald Trump isn't leaving this earth with a cent. Tony is a humble, God fearing man and was an amazing athlete. I've met him several times..he's always kind to pieces of shit like you even though he shouldn't be. If he is a loser then turds like you don't even register on the scale you fuck knob.

  • @grantjames333 He is a Good Man Those that talk shit are nothing more than a pile of shit them selves.

  • I recently met Tony at world gym in N. Charleston, he had a great attitude and he joked about breaking his fingernail, an excellent person who is really down to earth, he was hero when i was growing up, and he still is. You go Tony.

  • YES he is a very nice guy,IM glad he was not a jerk,I met him in sept and he was really nice to my wife and I.

  • I Met tony after Summerslam 08 he was real koo n laid back.

  • i've met tony in the last wwe ss tour. He's very friendly. He is a great performer. Great BodyBuilder.

HI TONY :D YOU'RE THE BEST
