Gloria and Mike were staying with them until Mike graduated from college, and moved out. But it doesn't matter, Archie started it. He had no right to go through they're private things. And yes, that includes Edith. Cause there are some things that you shouldn't know. If they want you to know, they'll tell you. Archie wouldn't want anyone going through his things. In fact in season 7, they had a boarder named Teresa staying with them, I think she would have felt the same way, and so would you.

Once the Stivics moved over to the Jefferson house, the show started to precipitously go down hill! They brought in in other characters such as that Teresa dame, a female kid, and eventually giving us Archie Bunkers Place which was putrid!

Bringing in new characters (especially kids) is the bane of all TV. Child actors have evolved over the years and many shows currently on NICK for example feature great young actors. However, bringing in any kid in a 70s or 80s sitcom always spelled doom!
