Amen! I'm sorry but in my opinion NO ONE can do a better job at this song than the writer himself Rich Mullins. He was also a great example to all in his walk with Christ and his everyday life. He touched my life and still does even though he has one to be with our Lord and Savior. Thank you for sharing this beautiful song. It is a blessing.
@artistjada Although other versions are blessed...and give honor and glory to our Father Go...the original version of this song by the composer himself is the ultimate, for I am certain he is now singing and dancing before the throne of our Father God giving glory to Him every moment of every day!
he has written some of the GREATEST SONGS OF THE FAITH; CREED AND AWESOME GOD, being two of the all time song of DECLARATION OF HIS FAITH IN JESUS AS THE LIVING SON OF THE LIVING GOD/
*notices jjason55740 comment* How sad that one's beliefs would keep them from enjoying this beautiful song. I'd send this to all of my friends, regardless of their religion, because I love the hammer dulcimer and it's a beautiful song! Does one have to be so passionately against the lord that you can't even enjoy a beautiful piece of music by someone of the faith?
...Strange. This feels extremely symbolic, doesn't it.
Rich was so Real and his walk with God was so unreligous just pure Love!!!! he heard from holy spirit and shared his Gift with us to love Jesus better
Praise God for all he has done for us. We did not invent this, God our merciful Creator is working in us through his Spirit. It takes way more faith to be an Atheist .It is called the "Gospel," which literally means "Good News." The Gospel is the message that through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, God has won forgiveness and eternal salvation for us (1 Corinthians 15:1 - 4; 2 Timothy 1:10).
@rkyham No...he was not of Indian descent. He was a strong advocate of the indian people, as he felt the were unjustly treated. He made it his life's work to help them. He was truly an amazing man of God. Taken too soon, but his body was so tired! It was so evident in some of the last videos of him. The bags under his eyes, etc.. He is so dearly missed.
@Dee17fvr Thanks for the clarification, my reply was to Bedeorah who asked if he passed away and if he was indian. I knew he did a lot for Native Americans. I totally agree about him being such an amazing man of God. He funneled nearly all the money he made from his albums back in to ministries and peoples he cared about and lived a very humble life.
@rkyham the proceeds of sales of his CDs ect still mostly goes to the Kid brothers of St Frank, orphans I think. Native American descent is hard to prove. My grt grandmother was full Cherokee but I cannot find records. Rich sure looks part Native American It would explain his fafulous rythm, seeing God in nature and his big brown eyes! Seriously lots of folks don't know they have Native American blood flowing in their veins. I love all his music, truely gifts from God!!!!
Its the apostles creed set to music its the core beliefs of a Christian. this is what makes us who we are, Christians. not Christmas. not the Easter Bunny. not where we stand on the divinity of Christ but his teachings. his beliefs. and the way he lead his life.
@ASONOFUNCLESAM Correction: We do stand on the divinity of Christ. If one does not believe in Christ' divinity, he is not a christian, and how could he be?
The words....

@hmcwilliams The church is one, holy, catholic, and apostolic.
ZRMockbee 1 month ago
because 'Church' isn't catholic. sorry to let you in on this little tidbit. it isn't Christian either. It is the body of believers.
hmcwilliams 1 month ago
@hmcwilliams Then you disagree with the Creed, right? Because catholic, "universal", church, is not Christian?

good song but creed is incomplete. One holy "Catholic" church/ Why did Catholic get deleted???????
xukeith33 1 month ago
@xukeith33 actually keith, it is "catholic", pronounced ka-THOH-lik... it is a 'type'.
furpurr 1 month ago
@furpurr ...& it was probably done for "flow"...so that line would sound better. no need to nitpick. ;-)
furpurr 1 month ago
@furpurr yes, but why change the original writted Creed? Should we change the writings of Paul or Trinity definitions as it suites or needs?
xukeith33 3 weeks ago
@xukeith33
The word "Catholic" then had absolutely nothing to do with what is now called the Roman Catholic Church

@ASONOFUNCLESAM This is true, very true, but the divinity of Christ is a very important part of being a Christian as well.
