Personally, I wasn't so moved by the 'Passion of Christ', but videos like this point out the core of both the song and the movie; there were quite a few moments in the video that were so perfect for the sound, and for the lyrics, it's what eyes would say if they could speak.
As for Christianity, atheism... don't beat your heads too much about what stream or religion it's about; I think it's not really about any religion, and about all of them at the same time :)

yes, but you can believe in God without being affiliated to a religion. And Tool's songs are about spirituality and the metaphysical, which in theory you can relate to religious beliefs

Very well done. Though Mel Gibson is still unworthy of any of our money or attention. And while Christianity is the most dubious of all religions, I still like the basic metaphor of the Christ. Albeit only if Jesus represents all human beings and if Christ represents the God inside each one of us. What Christians have done to the original story throughout the ages is shameless. They took something that was obviously once sacred and twisted it to their own petty devices for want of power.

I think that this is open to interpretation, ultimately it's a powerful video and i think that the music of tool really connects with what jesus really sacrificed for us, and in the end that's all that matters

I agree. I think it really is a misreading to say that Maynard hates god; if you listen and do multiple readings of the lyrics as they are juxtaposed to one another, you will discover that there is a profoundly spiritual side to everything Tool does. You cannot take any single song in isolation-- you miss the big picture that way.

No where does it say he hates God in that song. In Judith, he's upset with his mother because she still believes, even after having God, let her live in a wheel chair for 27 years. Listen to the song Wings for Marie by Tool, he actually praises her for her belief in God.

It took us to the bridge but did not drop us off :( Where's the final scene of the Passion--the hint at the light at the end of the tunnel as MJK would say? The light alluded to in the movie is the final scene--the hope that God raised Jesus from the dead. Including that scene in this vid would have made nearly perfect, but as it is, it ends in death, albeit vicariously LOL MJK has said that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I say it's the hope of the resurrection in Jesus Christ!

We all live many lives, no energy ever dies, but Jeasus Crist has lived billions more lives than us, and he talked to god.

I have an understanding of Christianity, and ironicly this song has always reminded me of Jesus Christ, particularly these images. Fantastic together. I believe the premis of early Christianity was very different to what religion has evolved it into.

John Maynard Keenan is an atheist. Sure he probably had to deal with christianism when when he was young and probably felt frustrated to see his mother still believing in such religion. But for an atheist like me, it's obvious Jeuss Christ who died more than 2000 years ago has nothing to do with his mother's disease. Jesus is dead and buried.

hey man you got his name wrong, its Maynard James Keenen, and i wouldnt say hes completly 100 percent atheist, He just hates God and Christ and so call religon, beacaue he was raised in a baptist family and when he was like 11 or 12 his mom got paralized and he blamed Christ for doing that, even though his mom was completely invovled with God and all that still, thats why in his other band A Perfect Cricle the song Judith(his mom's name) he sang about it, besides that, its still a tight song
