My mom is Thai and it's pretty common for their culture, along with other asian cultures, that if the baby doesn't have a lot of hair, they just shave it so it grows quicker and thicker. Of course, you'll have a skinhead baby for a few months but my sister who had it done is 15 years old now and her hair is SOOOO thick and lucious!
