  • I'm a Japanese university student(21). When I was in a secondary school, we sang it at the graduate ceremony. This song is so precious for me.

  • Diese so schöne Aufführung beweißt, daß in der Tat des Herrn Wort in alle Welt ergeht...keiner...ja keiner Zunge fremd!

  • the awesome buildup and those screaming tenors at 3:32 are fantastic!

  • Jeez, i gotta sing the part of the archangel uriel (tenor) at a performance of our school's choir tomorrow...but i guess we can't keep up with this performance^^

  • Very good, but my only comment would be the dynamics aren't too varied, it's mostly at one sound level. I'm a sucker for a good powerful cresendo though. Overall, amazing.

  • Wunderbar! loben seinen Namen! :)

  • bello bello bellissimo!!!

  • two harpsichords?

    why?

  • Maybe one harpsichord and one fortepiano?

  • There's Shirley in the 2nd row third from the left, and margaret in the back row, 1st from the right of the ladies. and there's the japanese lady in the back row 2nd from the left. they sing in my church choir as well. I'm great friends with margaret.

i'm audtitioning for my church choir tomorrow with this piece.

    thanks for posting this.

  • @stad97 thanks for your comments, and good luck on your audition!... which voice part are you singing for the audition?

  • soprano part

  • i know the conductor. he's also the conductor of my church choir. Raymond Fu! I've known him since birth as i've gone to my church since before my older brother was even born, and he's always been there as conductor.

  • Great Sound, thank you for posting.

  • When I hear this beautiful composition, I always think that it is gift of God for us throught Haydn, so we can realize the grace and the Glory of God more abundantly, and also for the refreshment for our soul... Thanks be to God....

  • meh, I'm not that much of a fan of this interpretation, the soloists seem to overdo it...and I do think the tempo in this mvt. is just a hair slow.

  • Wonderful!

  • Bravo!!! This towering masterpiece shouldn't go any faster. The tempo here is perfect...a kind of allegro moderato

  • Awake the Harp-Aeolians

  • Oakwood University did a concert of this work in English as: Awake the Harp-Aeolians which feature a first class tenor.

  • Thank you Hong Kong (and Papa Haydn)!

  • Watch a complete performance of Haydn's Creation this weekend 12-15 June, free, online at the London Symphony Orchestra's website. Visit our channel for more information.

  • Quite slow, they must give in some speed, this isn't a sad movement.

  • I disagree, the speed is bang on. While it isn't a sad movement, there is no reason for it to be overly fast. They are rejoicing in God? Who says that that has to incenuate speed?

  • Superb! I love it!

    *****

  • I think I prefer the english libretto

  • congratulations to the opera society of hong kong for this stunning performance. your vocal balance, tone, and timbre are superb. the lead up to the end conveys a real sense of largess and gravitas. this is perhaps the best performance of this piece on YouTube to date. bravo.

  • Well, to put the record staight, all the principals in La Perichole were French and in the Die Schopfung performance, the soprano was British.

  • Two weeks ago, I was coming off a number of prescription medications that were destroying my health. The weekend that I started the detox, I awoke for the first time in years refreshed and in the early morning at just before daybreak, I discovered yuperry's posting only to be overwhelmed with wellness listening to this glorious cosmopolitan performance roar the dawn to a life I hadn't felt in years! Thank you yuperry. And THANK YOU OPERA SOCIETY OF HONG KONG! You've outdone New York!

  • This has got to be one of the most glorious performances I've ever experienced! Tempo is correct, dynamics and tonalty are superb, and the whole oratorio executed in the roar a cosmopolitan unity and beauty that's humanly unique! Has humanity not reached a pinnicle of greatness in this performance? Thank you, yuperry. Truly here the heavens are telling!

  • With America slitting its throat in Iraq, poor heaterl's confused that the world move on without it: Hong Kong replacing NY and Hollywood as the most cosmopolitan place on earth. And just think: after this glorious performance, the HK Opera Society is currently performing Offenbach's La Périchole. Extravigantly staged, the A La French May 2008 operetta is performed in the original language (by all those Asian faces) with English and Chinese subtitles! Overpowering, ain't it, heaterl?

  • In the Le French May production of Offenbach's La Périchole, the Opera Society of Hong Kong were singing in the chorus, while the principal performers came from the acclaimed Jérôme Savary's company. In this comical and very entertaining opera, the chorus of the Opera Society were not only singing, but also dancing! The show was on at the Grand Theatre, Hong Kong Cultural Centre, 15-17 May, 2008.

  • @pswill11

I would say HK still still has a ways to go to catch up to NYC, but it's still a great place.

  • It is a bit confusing to hear asian people hear singing in german voices, but nevertheless a great performance!!!

  • Shouldn't be "confusing" at all. The Goethe Institute has been in Hong Kong for decades, so many people in Hong Kong have been exposed to German language and culture for a long time. Then there are numerous business, cultural and academic exchanges. German businessmen are all over in Asia these days. The Berliner Philharmoniker made a big Asian tour last year. Asian students and tourists visit Germany in droves. Thanks for your appreciation and compliments!

  • I _love_ this song, and I have to say this is one of the best performances I've seen of it to date.

  • c'est vrai ke c'est magnifique. avec la choral de ma classe de terminale on la chanté çà l'eglise st christophe de tourcoing

  • très belle musique .j,adore Haydn j,ai déja chanté cet oratorio bravo et merci pour ce clip video
