  • Nemoy is a Traitor to the real Trek Fans!

  • I am SO pissed I missed this. I LIVE in Austin, dammit!

  • announces that he wants some respect. Find this movie T O T A L L Y F R E E @ MovieWatcher (dot) US

  • Dang lucky Trekkies! I wish I could have gone to this...

  • For some reason, the guy at the start reminds me of a middle aged Hayden Christensen (Anakin Skywalker)- God, either I'm a huge fuckin' ass clown. But, does anyone else see it? BTW, you lucky fucks! This movie was great...

  • Was Harry in a wheelchair? I never knew that.

  • He got too fat to walk :(

  • Don't piss on hospitality... is that a troll 2 reference or do people really say that?

  • gold

  • Wheres Spock? Not a few would-be comics....

  • wait... austin has an alamo draft house.. I thought alamo draft houses could only be found in san antonio Texas... you know since.. we have the actual alamo... right down the street..

  • Austin was where the Drafthouse was founded. Besides, I think the Drafthouse was only in Austin, as we also have Alamo Ritz and such. Same company, but made in Austin.

  • So its a company name.. I never knew that, overall though I love the alamo drafthouses, were else can you eat dinner and watch a movie. Austin is amazing!

  • I know, right!

  • Yeah I rather eat a dinner for 12 dollars. then waste 6 dollars on popcorn and then get dinner later lol..

  • wow they first suck up to the fans! never seen that before >(

just dont be as bad as bayformer$ was....

  • All that needs to be said to sum up the best Star Trek movie is...."KHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!"

That is all. Nothing else comes close.

  • That was true until this weekend. The new one wins, hands down.

  • Voyage Home comes close but yeah WoK is the best the new movie is Star Trek in name only and if see another lens flare I'm gonna scream

  • @peaceandmetal88 Yes, so long as George Costanza yells it.

  • Star Trek TMP was the best Star Trek movie ever and here are my reasons why:

    1) Best Starship Enterprise ever.

    2) Best musical score in a trek film.

    3) James T. Kirk commandeers his ship to challenge the most powerful space entity in the universe and defeats it.

    4) I have a thing for hot bald chicks.

There you have it. Now, tell me why im wrong or join my legion of TMP maniacs.

  • Dude -Im with you on that 1 - People SLATE it for some reason???

    I never got that

  • why did they get that ginger dwarf guy from He-man The Movie to introduce it?

"THE KEY ! THE KEY !"

  • How dare you diss Harry! Movie Geek God! And his wife is HOT!

  • I agree that ST5 should have and could have been a better movie, but regardless of its flaws, it is still the only Star Trek film next to TMP that lives up to everything that Star Trek's about. It's my fav. ST film.

  • I saw 2, 3, and 4 in the local theater last summer they had a Star Trek weekend which was awesome they had triva and of course I got a shit load of questions right.

  • I have one!!! what in the name of God was Parramount and Gene Roddenberry thinking when they allowed ST5 TFF to be released !!!!!! I am hard core ST fan and can't believe they shit the film saga with such crap...live long and prosper !!

  • i agree, 5 was the worst

but i dont think roddenberry had much to do with any of the movies after the first one, i think he may have been a consultant occasionally. it really is too bad

  • I always thought Roddenberry was more of an idea man

  • very true, but i guess my qualm with the other movies is that theyre more focused on action than character development. 3 and 4 had many opportunities cover some awesome spock lore, and they just straight up didnt at all. even though i didnt think 6 was spectacular, it had a great kirk development, even though i think they ripped that story out of tng.

  • i think the same thing happened with the tng movies. the first 3 tng movies had a perfect balance of action and development, and the downfall of nemesis was some new director coming on board and making it all about action.

  • Making it all about action

    AND

compromising the ideals of Star Trek

pointlessly killing off a key TNG character

    that film killed TNG.

  • yeah man i hate hearing it like that but a lot of people agree with you.

i read an interview with frakes recently that led me to believe that the movie wouldve been MUCH better had he directed it

they also cut the movie down from a much longer runtime that included many scenes dealing with character developments and revisits of awesome tng episodes. there was a scene cut that included a conversation between data and picard mostly about the episode 'the inner light'

    my favorite episode

  • No way! It's one of my favourite episodes also, it's epic!

Man, the more I hear about this failed movie the more annoyed I get. Why kill him off? He's ageing out of the role, but they didn't make anymore!! He didn't need to die!

  • also i think they had originally planned for that characters death to be far more meaningful than it had ended up, im guessing this because brent spiner wrote part of the story for the movie. but in the movie business its all too easy for ideals to get lost in poor directing or production. i know spiner wanted an exit because he felt he was aging out of the role

  • Well to be fair Brent Spiner wouldn't have been able to pull off the role after that anyway. I cant remember the exact words but I seem to remember him saying that he realized he was getting too old to play a character that never aged. Best case scenaio would of been futher Star Trek movies with Data filling an off screen roll.

  • How the hell did you get through the security?

  • All the pirates should have jumped his ass and made him walk the plank!

  • STARS WARS SUCKS!

  • Fail.

  • What are you a doctor of; Prickology?

  • Its so awesome to see this. I understand it was invitation only and all film industry people. No one knew that they were going to actually premier the new Star Trek film here in Austin. The Alamo Drafthouse rocks and does so much for the arts. Great vid and I guess it's the closest you can get to actually being there. I do hope that you honored the request of not filming the movie. I heard it kept you glued and jonesing for more.

  • i wanted to see the disapointment of the audience thinking the fillm is runied, the big reveal of Nimoy and the realisation that they were going to get to see the new trek movie. Does this footage exist anywhere ?

  • yeah, just dont worry about that question..

    i'm "special"

  • wait what??? so whose recording??? did he get punched hahaha

  • i'd love to see the melting khan film... hopefully they'll release this on the dvd!

  • so much for the infrared camera's
