This demo "Hotel Room" of yours is very good. I often wonder why Stephen King is reluctant to make "Talisman" and "The Dark Tower" into movies. You have a lot invested in Jack and wolf and that investment has to really matter for Wolf's death scene to work and the effect on Jack. I don't think that could be done in around 2 hours.

I DID, however, see definite differences between the two versions of "the Shineing"...the second was truer to the book and focused more on what SK wanted. Even SK didn't like Kubric's version.

The demo is amazing! I wish someone would turn this book into a movie. I could see someone opening the door on their Mom in the shower when they know she is already dying of cancer. In 5 minutes you already looking for answers. Too bad there isn't more of his work like this up. :/
Jack and Lily shouldn't be dark haired, there doesn't have to a jarring image of the Territories from hotel before he sets off on his journey. The best time for something like that is when Sloat rips his way into them when Jack meets Wolf. Sharon Stone could play Lily, Samuel L Jackson as Speedy. Not sure about Jack and ol' Bloat. Now my nerdness has been revealed. Not as terrible as it may seem, I'm layed up and reading it for the tenth time or so.

"The Talisman" has always been my favorite Stephen King book. I can read it over and over again, each time it brings me in the same state of mind and I can totally reconstruct the visuals in detail. Your demo is very very good. Casting could be improved, but the editing, the shots and above all the pale, intentionally discomforting color filtering is just great. Stephen King's books have often been filmed in the wrong way, except The Shining, but you might bring a change to that.

very impressed with the directing/effects (though they were a few melodramatic parts, i thought) but i had a little trouble looking past the casting of jack, which i absolutely HATED. really cool cinematography though!
I figured that he could pass as Jack maybe, but it was Lily I had trouble accepting. Otherwise, this was really good. I hope The Talisman does make it to a broader audience somehow. I feel that the series those two writers have made is the only work I've read that can rival The Dark Tower.
Fantastic interpretation! Very Well done, although I had pictured Jackie as a bit younger. I have not read the novel since I was about 12 myself. So it's been years and I maybe I am bit foggy but I always imagined Jackie as a young 12 year old if that makes any sense. He hasn't gone through puberty yet or perhaps just starting. For years I have been hoping and waiting for this story to be made into a movie and after viewing this I'm hopeful that it will finally happen soon.

I read this book many moons ago & I was hoping it would be made into a film very soon after I read it. So, hopefully this is the start of making the film. It is one of the best books I have personally read & to see it adapted to film would be fantastic. I would agree with one of the other comments I read below. I would hope the film maker would make it in 3 or 4 different parts & not try to cram it into 2 hours. The book deserves to be adapted properly. It is one amazing journey.

well I kinda liked it but I thought that the hotel looked too new, remember this was an old hotel that had its glory days, jack was ok looking but mom looked way to healthy and fresh, I always saw her in my mind as a very thin woman with blond hair and too much makeup that gave her a harsh haggered look about her, tough as nails (think of sharon tate old and haggered. but otherwise pretty good, and you are listening to someone who has been waiting almost 15 years for this to be made!

Wow! Impressive stuff! Directing and special effects are top notch! The acting not so much, but maybe I just pictured him differently? Can't WAIT for this to finally be made a movie. They should really make it into 2 or 3 parts, to give the story the time to tell itself and unfold as is it should, and not be stuffed all into one 2 hour flick. Either way, amazing story and it's going to be an amazing movie! Well done!

I agree, this movie deserves to be split into a few parts rather than one movie. The acting could probably use some help but it definitely is overflowing with potential. The special effects were pretty impressive. Can't wait to see this progress to a full blown film :D

I read this book many moons ago & I was hoping it would be made into a film very soon after I read it. So, hopefully this is the start of making the film. It is one of the best books I have personally read & to see it adapted to film would be fantastic. I would agree with one of the other comments I read below. I would hope the film maker would make it in 3 or 4 different parts & not try to cram it into 2 hours. The book deserves to be adapted properly. It is one amazing journey.

your no depalma or kubrick...but everyone has to start somewhere..id aim a little lower than speilberg for right now though..at least til you made a real film and entered it into a festival maybe?..theres too many directors around already who they know for a fact could do it better....

well I kinda liked it but I thought that the hotel looked too new, remember this was an old hotel that had its glory days, jack was ok looking but mom looked way to healthy and fresh, I always saw her in my mind as a very thin woman with blond hair and too much makeup that gave her a harsh haggered look about her, tough as nails (think of sharon tate old and haggered. but otherwise pretty good, and you are listening to someone who has been waiting almost 15 years for this to be made!

Wow! Impressive stuff! Directing and special effects are top notch! The acting not so much, but maybe I just pictured him differently? Can't WAIT for this to finally be made a movie. They should really make it into 2 or 3 parts, to give the story the time to tell itself and unfold as is it should, and not be stuffed all into one 2 hour flick. Either way, amazing story and it's going to be an amazing movie! Well done!

@outtasite2009 is it gonna be a movie or it s just a fake trailer? because they are advertising this for....a long time. do u know anything about it? anyway the book is very good but if u did not read the other bux...u wont get perfect view about the actions,characters....so this book "the talisman" closes the other stories
