• weird science theater 3000

  • 2 of my Favorite dvds that I own and 2 of my top 20.

  • @proudravenclaw95 From my heart and from my hands oooh

  • Torgo solo!!

  • Love love love it!

  • lol, 2:48 frank breaks the handle pushing in the explosive device, looked accidental, too funny.. god i miss this show.

  • LEAVE MY FATHER OUT OF THIS!

  • That sir, was wonderful.

  • I would like to have seen the names of each movie with the clips in this presentation, other than that I think this is PRIMO!

    Cindy-Columbus, Ohio

  • @proudravenclaw95

    I did.

  • I have found that mst3k,is a good litmus test. If someone likes it they"re usually smarter than the average bear. At the same time , if they think it's stupid then so are they.

  • Where is the clip from 1:30 from? Joel looks so strange in that machine...

  • @KillerHelix Eegah!!

  • MST3K...best thing to ever come out of Minnesota. I worked on the MST3K movie back in 95 as an intern. Great fun! We made the ship interiors by gluing old toys to plywood. Later they painted it all grey or white. It looked very realistic. I even got a tour of Best Brains Studios. Its a tiny place...just a couple big garages & a few offices. I got to stand where Joel/Mike & the bots did all their scenes & I think I saw Mary Jo Pehl. So much hilarious magic was created in that tiny place.

  • @mct1967

Lucky you! I've always heard that working with those guys was like being part of a big, silly family. I'd have given anything to get the chance to tour the studio back when they were still doing the show.

  • @AMVpurgatory When I toured Best Brains studios I was amazed at how little room they had to do the show. One big garage was only used to store all the props they made over the years. Every invention exchange and every gadget from all the shows was in that room. It was packed to the gills. I could've spent hours in there.

Deep 13/Castle Forrester, the movie scenes and all the Satellite of Love scenes were all shot in the same garage. It was pretty crampt. But they somehow made it all work.

  • Will the show ever go on?

  • I don't usually like this sort of thing all that much, but this one was AWESOME. I salute you, citizen!

  • Great job. "I like it very much!" Mstie for life!

  • Oh my god, that was...magical.

  • Two of my favorite things, Oingo Boingo and MST3K. I love you.

  • I was watching an episode of the TV version of "Weird Science" a few days ago and they mentioned MST3K. That was pretty cool.

  • The ending was a little stiff. I guess it's because it's jarring due to how loud the video audio is next to the song audio. Maybe if it was faded a little better, it'd be super kick-ass, but it's still great!

  • mst3k is totally "weird science"

  • Haha, a perfect song for this show! XD

    Nice editing!

  • Does anyone know what 2:31 is from? I think I saw this episode before but I can't find it anywhere.

  • Not bad, but you really should've ended it with the "What do you think sirs?"/"IT STINKS!" exchange.

  • R.I.P. Peter Graves (1926-2010)

Now I feel guilty for laughing at all the jokes at his expense in "It Conquered the World" when I watched it the other day.

  • I don't.

  • hey there AWESOME MST3K video please do a sequel im trying to get my new girlfriend into MST3OOO and i showed her your vid to try and convince her its the greatest show ever she still doesnt quite get it though perfect song for the MST characters and situations especially loved Peter Breck shouting "I KILLED THAT FAT BARKEEP!!!" from THE BEATNIKS Again-fantastic job and a fitting tribute to the show- push the button frank

  • @leyleilelly

Glad you like the video, but I don't think I'll do another one of MST3K. It's not an easy show to do videos of since the majority of the program is the characters watching something else. If you want to get your girlfriend into the show, try showing her some of the shorts or some similar riffs by other people. A lot of the members of That Guy With the Glasses do riffs and my brother and I have a riff of Killer Klowns that we've done as well.

  • @leyleilelly

Have her watch the movie first. It's a good introduction to the series. Either that or episode 303: Pod People. A lot of people I know saw that one first and loved the show immediately.

  • What's the name of the Peter Graves film at the end? It looks like a funny episode.

  • @GusF 311, It Conquered the World

  • Teenagers From Outer Space. Or, if you named it accurately, amateur Middle Aged actors from Outer Space. You can find it on Volume 6 of the MST3K collection.

  • This could totally be Dr. Forrester's theme song XD. Plus, it also fits with the entire show in general!

    5/5, my friend.

  • cool 5/5 mst3k music video

  • you've combined two of my favorite things. oingo boingo and mst3k!

  • That was freaking GREAT~ <3

  • What episode has the fake-gun-style sound effects? Particularly liked the one for the nun-chucks...

  • My inner geek has been satisfied by this video. Nice job!

  • Personally, I think MST3K and Weird Science go together perfectly.

  • I'm not going to waste a lot of time defending this as it's just a fan video and not terribly important to me. But it's basically just playing off of the strange incidents in the MST3K host segments. I thought it was fitting, but hey... *shrugs* It was just something to waste a little time with.

  • @AMVpurgatory I thought it was great.

  • Awesome! Great job putting this together. :)

  • :D MST3K + Oingo Boingo? That's fulfilling my geekish fantasy ever... thank you. This comes only second to RiffTrax reviewing The Forbidden Zone

  • That's probably the best ending you could have picked for this video, nice work!

  • Turn Down Your Lights (where applicable)

  • Wouldn't it be TVMV?

  • 2:54

    What episode is that from?

  • Experiment #912: The Screaming Skull. In that particular Host Segment, Crow takes his head off and has it painted white to fool Mike into thinking he's the screaming skull from the movie. It only results in Mike freaking out and beating the crap out of him.

  • Thanks : )

  • MST3K Now and Forever. Keep Circulating Those Tapes.

  • @radarcub Or in this day and age... those Torrents.

    GREAT video! Saved it!

  • Absolutely brilliant. That's all I gotta say.

  • TORGO!!

  • Favorited. Great work!

  • this is perfect for an MST3K fan turn scientist, thank you!

but I gotta know, what eps did these clips come from? I'd give a list, but youtube said it'd be "too long"

  • Which episodes? *laughs* Oh dear! I don't remember all of the ones I used!

  • The Peter Graves speech is JUST what this fanvid needed to wrap it up---after all,we can listen to "Weird Science" anytime.

  • YOu have to contact all the advertisers too, i agree. This is the age of the net, contacts like that can always be found and contacted. Not doing anything will result in nothing happening. Look at The Family Guy. Those fans were faithful enough, that they got the show back on the air. The same thing happened back in the 80s with a show called Designing Women. It got cancelled, but enough dedicated fans pulled together, wrote in to where it counted, and the show got back on the air.

  • I wish there were more good fan vids of mst3k like this!

  • One of the best MST fan vids out there!

  • Wonderfully done! "You get a cookie." :)

  • I can also tell you have this synched up pretty well but Youtubes formatting has sort of knocked it a few frames out of synch. Doesn't that drive you nuts when you've worked so hard on something? Still, 5 stars, great work.

  • Good video. MST3K was awesome until Peggy and that lame a** Planet Of The Apes crap ruined it. Had that never happened the show might have lasted longer than it did.

  • The show ended because the dumb ass that ran SCI FI (Bonnie Hammer, now failing upward as the president of NBC Universal Cable) hated the show; it's the same reason Comedy Central cancelled them (Doug Herzog at Comedy Central hated the show as well).

  • Producers & actors of shows need 2 be more pro-active for their shows. It's like they don't care. They need 2 send out news letters 2 fans with emails 2 write 2, so jerks at NBC and Comedy Central can see the amount of fans. Then they need 2 send out mail 2 all the advertisers, so the fans can write & tell them they'll not be watching the network that cancelled them anymore.

Those names you mentioned. I wonder if they ruined G4TV as well. I know it was Comcast, but maybe they work for them.

  • I do my homework, but i'm only one person. Instead of just lazily writing into the Terms Of Service or Privace Notice emails, that don't get seen on the network sites. I research through the whole site. You can eventually find it. Or you can also do a Yahoo search for contacts and find out where to write. I tell them how successful online Rifftrax is, and what a bad mistake it was to cancel MST3K.

  • texformer, I totally agree. Peggy wasn't a bad actress but that character was obnoxious. And so were those stupid monkeys. I know it was the mst3K cast and I love them, I just thought that theme was embarassing to watch.

  • HI KEEBA!!! HWUP!

    *Plonk!*

  • this makes me so happy!

    it's brilliant!

    it's awesome!

    it's ROWSDOWER!

    XD

  • It's SPACOM!

  • Oh yeah, I almost forgot.

    It... is... BALLOOOOOON!!!

  • There are some truly unhinged people out there...good on them.

Where do those carpets and BANG weapons come from? And what was that on the Mads' chins?

  • Chinderwear! For the cleft-chinned man.

  • As savgmouse pointed out, the chin invention was "Chinderwear" for people who have butt-chins. The magic carpet sketch was from Castle of Fu Manchu and I don't remember which episode had the fight with the "BANG" weapons.

  • 00:58

man, joel almost singed his face!:O

  • Notice when Dr F lit HIS up he didn't even BLINK.

  • ha! yeah, i did notice that.

guess that's why they call them "the mads"

and why trace is cool as shizz. :P

  • this was excellent! i think the music actually makes more sense with mst3k than the actual weird science movie. kudos! :)

  • This is FANTASTICLE!!!XD

Beautiful work on this vidoe.........the music and clips just flow perfectly together......keep it up boyo. X3

  • Love this! And thanks for including footage with Dr. Larry. Most people forget about him!

  • I wanted to make sure that all of the characters got a little bit of screen time with this one.

  • Forgot Ortega and the Nanites.

  • Curse you!!!!

  • Ther's always next time.

Maybe you could cut back on the Peter Graves thing at the end. Perhaps even sneak another shot of Pearl, Bobo and Observer in.

Another shot of Jerry and Silvia would be cool. Perhaps a rapid fire assortment of all the "guest" characters like Nuveena and Mike as Steeve Reeves. Well maybe not.

All you really needed from Graves is the "Man is a feeling creature" The rest kind of made the video drag.

  • See, I thought it would be funny to end the video with the entirety of Graves' speech from "It Conquered the World," just the same way they ended that episode with his full speech. The rapid-fire guest characters would be funny, too, but VERY time-consuming!

  • That was absolutely brilliant! A perfect fit of music and images.

  • i love this song

  • OOOOHHHHH SHIT!

    Awesome.

  • Great job!

  • Oingo Boingo AND MST3K?

    <333333 8D

  • Hey, you've got your Oingo Boingo in my MST3K! No, you've got your MST3K in my Oingo Boingo! It's two great things that go great together!

  • Two for me, none for you.

Wait, that doesnt work... But the video does.

  • What's with the guy in black and white shouting out of a window? Where's that one from?

  • Beatniks, I think.

  • AoNinjaz is correct. It's from the movie "Beatniks" and the character is Moonie, the archetype freaking insane character that always existed in those groovy, hep, swingin' beatnik films from the 50's and 60's.

  • HI-KEEBA!!

    Loved it.

  • Haha, Frank broke a prop. XD The press-switch thing that causes the "BOINGEE BANGA KA BONGA" curtain thing to roll down.

  • hahaha! this works so well with it!

  • PERFECT! I hit the Save to Favorites button when "HI-KEEBA!" came up. Nice work on using bits from the entire run of the series.

  • People seem to really like that "Hi-Keeba!" bit! I'm just upset I wasn't able to get the "Want some?" "I WANT AN ANSWER!" scene from Daddy-O. I searched the episode over and over and still couldn't find the darn thing!

  • Can you post the episode featuring the HI-KEEBA bit?

  • Once I get my ISP updated to a faster speed. Right now, it's simply not good enough to upload anything like that.

  • Ok, thank you.

  • This is, indeed, truly awesome. You've got vidos in here from every season of the show, and the composition is excellenent to boot. Plus you've got the "Hikeeba!"

  • You know, I didn't even realize I'd managed that until I just read your comment now. There is a clip from each season in there! Huh! Cool!

  • Cool video--and, yay, Season One stuff with Larry!

    /Thank you!"

  • What movie does the Hai kiba clip come from? I've always wanted to see that one but have not yet.

  • "Hi-Keeba!" is one of those infamous MST3K running gags that comes from the rarely-viewed first season, so only the most hardcore fans have seen the original bit. It's from the movie "Women of the Prehistoric Planet," Experiment #104.

  • Ah, but that ep is in one of the box sets, so it might not be so rare anymore. ^_^

  • Ah, I wouldn't know. Most of my collection comes from the old-school method of tape (or DVD-ROM) trading, so I'm unaware of which episodes have recently become available on the market.

I sincerely hope we'll see the entire series on DVD some day.

  • And someone may hopefully post that episode here on YouTube as a result.

  • This is awesome. There needs to be a lot more mst3k fanvids.
