wasnt ever a big fan of his tone , i prefer a grungier tone, so i compromised and painted my LTD , flat gold and satin black, check it out.

Couldn't agree more. Simply the best feeling guitar I own (i have 10 others). Don't know how to describe it but its spongy and smooth as a baby's ass. Flat out love the neck on the thing.

I could'nt agree more to you, although I don't own as many guitars as you the feeling of this neck is unearthly! My Whammy Bar is also really tense, I don't know about yours but I love it I do totally crazy Dive Bombs and Stuff. As far as playability, there are Pro's and beginners, who really gives a F---?? Yup. They wanted $2,600 but a little bit of dealing got him down to $2,100. Worth every damn penny. I have waited a lifetime to own this guitar. Ed is the reason I started playing in the first place and that pic of him holding this axe on the cover of VH 1 is burned indelibly into my brain.

I am running through a Pod Xt Live into my Roland Cube 30 practice amp. When I run it into my Mesa it sounds ungodly. It's strung with 09's

Yeah get on the pod xt and turn the eq on and crank up the high end full ball...  Really cranks up the pick attack and if u are goin for the eddie sound (since u have the guitar and play the songs) do that and it will sound heaps better... IMO. Also turn down the gain a little bit.
