  • How in heaven's name do they film that? She is still alive after the first 'chop'!! Amazing cinematography but a bit too real for my tastes I'm afraid.

  • I've been mostly desensitized to movie gore, but this one makes me downright nauseous. That fucking sound...

  • that's so gross

  • now thats what i love to watch lots of blood and cuts

  • at 0:36 is that the actress who plays Cristabella in Silent Hill

  • @HewieOfHG No, Alice Krige played Christabella.

  • Damn it! Freaking protestant Elizabeth!

  • She had to endure two blows to the neck :<

  • Pobereta Regina!

  • I've always wondered if the executioner missed the head or are there incidents like that?

  • @Coldheart61595 Beheading with an axe could be usually sloppy, sometimes deliberately sloppy. Face it Mary was suffering for more than 18 yrs., through her darling cousin.

  • @molarmama5

Everyone praises Elizabeth even though she oversaw the massacre of 4,000 Catholics in Ireland, left the country all but bankrupt, lost all the naval battles against Spain EXCEPT for the Armada, and waged war against the poor by repealing the laws that protected them (instituted under Mary) and killing the last few Catholic monks who housed and fed them. She even imprisoned Katherine and Mary Grey and their husbands for marrying without her permission. Typical embittered spinster.

  • @spartacus3ful I would not blame her spinsterhood; but the fact that by destroying Catholics, she had destroyed the Middle Class and the poor of England. Read Campion, by Hillaire Belloc. Darling LizI closed the free Catholic Universities, and charitable facilities run by Catholic clergy. Who writes the history? Only the super rich matter. I totally agree with you!

  • @molarmama5

Thank you! Hence, "Bloody Mary" vs. "Gloriana", or in a Russianized version, "Ivan the Terrible" vs. "Peter the Great", even though the latter slaughtered far more of his own people than Ivan, and willingly killed his own son as opposed to Ivan accidentally killing his in a fit of insanity (and becoming a recluse as a result).

  • @spartacus3ful I just love Liz I's phoney reaction to her cousin's murder, under her hand. So she allegedilly never signed the order for Mary's execution. Bollocks, she could only be secure with Mary dead. This film is "Damage Controll". The only thing that may have bothered her, was that maybe some day she could suffer the same fate. Therefore all of her 'Spin doctors".

  • @molarmama5

Did you see the Glenda Jackson version made in 1970? Good Lord, talk about spin. Elizabeth carries on like a mourning banshee, accusing her advisors of ordering the execution without her knowledge. They would never have dared done such a thing, particularly since Mary was still regarded as an anointed monarch whose death could only be ordered by another monarch. In another episode, she berates the French for the Huguenot massacres when 4,000 Catholics died on HER orders!

  • @spartacus3ful: Yup. That's why they call it troubled times. Hard to judge who was right or wrong, because everyone had their heads screwed up by politics and culture of their times. Also hard to know, therefore if we could have done better if we were raised under such conditions, and knowing no other world but that. Makes me wonder what future generations will think of us when we're gone.

  • @Coldheart61595 Apparently it happened all the time. Look up Margaret Pole. She got hacked like 11 times.

  • Finally some director had the balls to show a "proper" execution scene... Not that I actually enjoy the deaths of the actual historical figures, but when interpreted in films, they tend to make it as PG as possible, which is somewhat annoying... It's not like they're not gonne get the R rating erased anyway...

  • Talk about denial, Elizabeth I had been the one to order Mary of Scots death! Mary was so devout, I'm sure she is in heaven. May God have mercy on Elizabeth I.

  • @Miss65boo

The one guy specifically violated Elizabeth's order not to depart with the death warrant, as she was having her doubts, and then they took it without her consent and executed Mary.

  • Talk about denial, Elizabeth I had been the one to order Mary of Scots death!

  • man that first ax to the neck must of been very painful >.< poor mary.

  • @rockinamber18 but thomas's execution is more painful to watch, the executioner kept missing him and it was so bad someone else had to take over

  • This is not the film, this is the series

  • ouch!!!

  • It should have been a sword--the scoundrels!

  • RIP Mary Stuart!

  • What an awful way to die. I can't imagine the pain she felt at that first blow!

  • @MichaelJackson4eva9 - From the looks of it, her spinal cord would have been severed; her spine shattered. That's usually enough to put the lights out. When a person is hanged, for instance, the large knot is put to the side of the victim's head, so that when they reach the end of their fall, it violently pushes their skull to the side and (hopefully) disconnects the spinal cord at the first vertebrae, which causes nearly instant death.

  • Narly!

  • The execution was not accurate. Her ladies in waiting undressed her. Also, it took three strikes to remove the head. The first blow hit the back of her head (she muttered "Sweet Jesus), the second blow hit the neck, but a third chop was required to sever the remaining sinew. Her lips continued to move for 15 minutes. If you were lucky, an experienced French swordsman was hired as the blade was sharper and was usually done in one strike.

  • @DCFunBud - You reference the "Experienced French Swordsman" as though it was the Tudor equivalent of ordering a pizza or something. "Hello, Experienced French Swordsman?"

    "Oui?"

"Are you available for a beheading tomorrow?"

    "Oui, pas probleme."

    "Great!"

You're obviously aware that Anne Boelyn got this treatment, but it was by no means the norm.

  • @johnnytastetest ROFLMAO ordering a pizza.

  • You can tell they hated her because they didn't even giver her a humane death: the guillotine would have been swift and painless as opposed to the ax. The ax merely crushes the spinal cord and ligaments, and so it doesn't lop off the head in one swift cut. So for those few seconds until the 2nd cut, you are laying there experiencing massive pain/suffering. That's why Mary was wincing in pain here after the 1st cut.

  • @JumpStreet1983 The guillotine wasn’t invented until the eighteenth century. Earlier forms of it had been used before, but they usually crushed the neck. Yes, guillotining was swift and supposedly painless (I haven’t heard of any complaints ^_^).

  • @JumpStreet1983 Seriously though, if done properly, beheading could be a quick way to die. It was the alternative and less “disgraceful” way of execution reserved for the nobility (the normal method for women was burning at the stake, which could take minutes). However, a clean killing blow couldn’t be guaranteed. Botched executions were likely caused by factors such as an unskilled/nervous headsman or inefficient equipment rather than ill feelings towards the condemned.

  • @JumpStreet1983 They couldn't give her the guillotine even if they wanted to, the guillotine wasn't invented until around the French Revolution about 200 or so years after Mary, Queen of Scots was executed.

  • Believe it or not, that scene owed nothing to specil effects ir CGI. They actually chopped off the actress' head off. True story.

  • @hotrodheart9 no wonder she played as the mother of beatrix potter in the movie MISS POTTER in 2006! :D and this was released in 2005

  • i think i am going to puke

  • 1:33....executioner=fuckin moron.Ur cuttiing a queens had u fucktard not a chikens..

  • in another movie (BBC) 3 strike .....stunk..stunk..and stunk......mamma mia

  • Awful. I think I saw this miniseries on Hallmark, but I don't remember seeing any actual beheading. For all her accomplishments, Elizabeth could be a procrastinator sometimes (kept Mary under house arrest for 19 years). Reluctant or not, she did sign the death warrant. Mary, rightful queen or not, brought this upon herself. It was a struggle for power. Isn’t it ironic that these two cousins never even met and that eventually Mary’s son (James) succeded Elizabeth?

    I like this Italian dubbing.

  • Her servants thought they heard her whisper “Sweet Jesus”, but who knows? This was bad, but the 8th Countess of Salisbury’s case was worse: she struggled and it took ten blows to behead her. She was 67 years old.

  • 1:33 Don't think THAT didn't hurt LOL

  • omg...:O

  • I wonder why Dudley brought his stepson there? To warn him not to become an enemy of Elizabeth? Ironic, since he did.

  • @happybkwrm, Guess he wasn't paying attention.

  • Elizabeth I was Bitch with a capital B!Sh was no virgin! Only on her ears....i think

  • @Torquemana she didn't really intend to execute mary. after she heard about her death she kicked her secretary out and imprisoned him in the tower of london.

  • @Torquemana mary would have done the same thing to her if she had the power.

  • Oh jeez, they really made her suffer as they cut her head off.

  • FINALLY, ONE THAT ACTUALLY SHOWS THE GRAPHIC BEHEADING!!!!!!!! YAAAAY!!!

  • dove posso trovare questo film in streaming?

  • oh that is messed up.

  • I thought Mary spoke English...

  • @djab2 This video comes from the dubbed italian version ;)

Mary always spoke French or Scottish and sometimes English.

  • @djab2 she was raised in france.

so i guess she liked french better???

  • Mary Queen of Scots was the rightful heir to the throne of England through her grand-mother was Henry VII's daughter - Margaret Tudor, Queen of Scots, who bore James V of Scotland who bore Mary Queen of Scots who then bore James VI King of Scotland and I King of England. It is the King James version of the Bible you see when someone refers to KJV. He had the Bible brought back to as close as possible its original text - check out the dedicatory at the front of any KJ Bible.

  • @ridiculeu

Traditionalists (and not just Catholics) believed this as well due to the fact that the Anne Boleyn marriage (and its offspring) were not recognized due to the fact that Catherine of Aragon was still alive when Henry married Anne. They could accept Edward because the Jane Seymour marriage took place after Catherine died. The line of Henry's older sister Margaret ( the Scottish line) had no business being cut out of the succession by the line of his younger sister Mary.

  • i know i am a history buff but this may be the dumb question of the evening...

Who the hell is this lady??? I have never heard of her before.

  • @countrywillneverdie Executed: Mary Stuart, Queen of Scots she tried to overthrow Elizabeth I, the lady who's very upset.

  • o shit, to die for second time

  • It wasn't about winning or losing, Elizabeth didnt want her cousin killed

  • @KendraWilk well she did really but she just didn't want her to be killed publicly because that would attract the fury of the pope and the Philip II of spain. She would have prefered to have her assassinated but no one would do it so the execution was a final resort..

  • what an ugly whore

  • i doubt that priest....he looks more like a devil

  • What is going on with youtube that I cannot watch a single thing without it stopping for a while and then resuming whatever it is I am watching. Please let me know if this is happening to any of you. Thank you,.

  • !!there is going to be shouts and a rush all the men had their handkerchiefs out

to dip in the blood splatered block...

cause everyone knows that the blood of a beheading criminal works...WONDERS,,!!

  • Once Queen Elizabeth I secured England and ushered in the ever famous, quaint British Golden Era, society would have had to been a bunch of numb skulls not to recognize the path to modern Democracy. Once the Napoleons and Hitlers were kicked to the curb, we had it.

  • Fuck I never expected a side on view. I wonder how they did that?

  • i know....woah that was intense!

  • haha they made that much nicer than real life. she got hit in the back once and neck twice before it came off!!

  • at 1:30 her arms laid in the block, but at 1:32 her head is much more bigger, and her arms disappeared ...

  • its so obvious it was a fake head o_O the head fell out from the wig xD

  • The head fell out because Mary had a wig on the day of her execution.

  • @scoutpangya No, man. They used a real one!

  • @scoutpangya ...You expected them to use a REAL head?!!

  • @scoutpangya @ReginaEmeraldas Correct. The eyewitness account is that her head fell out from under the wig. Well documented.

  • LMFAO, he just picked up the head like it was nothing

  • That;s because it WAS nothing! Historically we now know that he picked up only her red wig, and before her death, no-one knew she was quite grey-headed. Time to LMFAO, at you!

  • @edgedude59 you really are a sicko, eh?

  • ohh 1:32 slice..ueeeeeh...ehhrh..slice....bughb

  • i don't think she was relax like this... and i don't think she put her head on the... thing... like that... but that was funny 1:32

  • @frankmyrand That must be hurt....

  • she knew she was gettin the chop for 18/19 (excuse me) years.

  • i actutaly know how this is done there is a video on youtube about it. They make a fake mankin with a head the head is filled with fake blood and when the girl lays down the probubly stop filming there and put the fake one down chop the head off vola looks so real it looked animated here

  • Shit! thats hectic.

  • Elizabeth ordered Mary's execution. The rest was just a stage show for the sake of public image. As for Mary, that poor woman, she actively contributed to her terrible end.

  • The film left out that she said, "Sweet Jesus" between the first and second stroke of the axe.

Her life was marked by piety and modesty (you won't see any pictures showing what this movie shows). She was one of the last and best Catholic queens. But our world is in constant war against what is good and holy.

  • 1:31 Ouu! that will be hurt.

  • It actually got stuck in her skull first

  • That would certainly hurt in the morning

  • Word word: owch. That would of hurt.

  • the1st blow wouldve broken her neck!!!!!!

  • dat shit is psycho

  • Love Elizabeth, hate Mary!

  • Hidden within her skirts, Mary had placed her little pet dog.

  • Actually, the little dog was nearby, and knowing what was about to happen to it's mistress and completely terrified, it scampered beneath Mary's skirts and hid.

  • Loyal to the end. A man`s best friend....also a woman`s.

  • thats true. they thought she was still alive because of movement within her dress but it was a dog.

  • If henry would have stayed true to the roman catholic church that was founded by christ and the apostles and stayed with catherine of aragon like he was suppose to then none of this would have happened because elizabeth would not have exixted if henry had not slept with anne boleyn while he was still married to catherine even when he was married to anne boleyn he was still lawfully married to catherine because pope paul the iii would not grant him a divorce and rightfully so

  • True, a selfish and powerful man wanted his way, and got it.

  • Thank God that England remained Protestant. Had it not, the Inquisition would have spread to all corners of the earth and with it all free thought and free agency--the right given to all of us to choose God for ourselves--would have been taken away. The Catholic Church went apostate from what Christ originally established hundreds of years before this occurred.

  • I agree!

  • and the protestants aren't much better.

  • Comment removed

  • The only reason that elizabeth had mary executed was that she knew that mary was the rightful heir to the throne of england I mean if her dad had n ot divorced catherine and married anne boleyn the mary his daughter with catherine would have become queen and the since mary tudor died without having children the throne would have went to surving cousin since henry had no living brothers so the oldest cousin would have been next in linefor the throne

  • No Barbara that does not make you a pussy.

You see easily amused sicko's who like this sorta brutality are the pussy's. There pussy's because they could sit and watch another human being get treated like this... Anyone with any bravery at all would stand up to this kind of sickness... Its good that you can't stand this kind of stuff because it shows that your actually human.

  • Also I might add that was pussy shit compared to Wallace getting torn open and getting his entrails strewn.

  • wow thats too much gore, I"m a pussy because I already know I can't watch that.

  • nothing during those times was mercifull.

Imagine this stuff happening in the 20th or 21st century? Maybe in country's like Cambodia, but in modern day England? No you see people were a lot more barbariac, stupid, and self righeous back then.... Blame religion.

  • in the 20th century ? remember the gaz chambers ?

  • Now i understand why the guillotine was considered at the time to be the "merciful" form of execution...

  • Maybe that´s why to be executed by a sword was considered really merciful...but, who knows???

  • A sword was considered to be more mericful however, more often than the executioner would have to lower the sword faster to take a head off in one try

  • Many executioners made a bad job of it. It was a skill that took years to learn. And remember the axe really crushed through the neck vertebrae, ligaments, tendons etc. It didn't really "cut". Yuck.

  • that was horrible and a horrible way to leave this world.

  • You never lied, I had to find it again to show someone they couldn't believe it. I nevre thought they had complications like that! That was horrible, they should have cut his head off for messing up like that..damn.

  • that was horrible, maybe thats why they figured the gullatine would work better

  • Still doesnt make it any less bloody.O_o

  • FLIP was NOT expecting that!!!!!! Owchowchowchowch a HORRIBLE way to die! Ugh gonna have night mares now, the baby that I am...

  • elizabeth never wanted her killed. mary of scotts was my ancestor. king james the 6th had two sister s i am decended from one of them.

  • Mary had only one son, James VI of Scotland.

  • Comment removed

  • I don't mean to sound sceptical but can you offer anything to corroborate what you say?

  • that is so cool!

  • @annamariaduval Do you know something, king Henry the viii was a pervert and he solved the problem by killing his wives. I am glad I am not related to the British Monarchy. My Monarchy is in Spain. Henry the vIII formed the anglican church so he could get a divorce and it has no value, you people we catholics before being anglicans. If you are of royal descent, how come you live in Canada like a commoner and not in England? could you tell me that. What do we call you?

  • @annamariaduval Mary Stuart had no daughters...what are you talking about?

  • Mary Stuart's execution was based on lies.

  • AHHHHH!!!!!!

Elizabeth the Golden Age is a kiddie film compared to this.

  • She didn't deserve to die especially after she ordered her army to be disbanded. She was no threat to Elizabeth.

  • Yeah- even Elizabeth didn't see her as much of a threat. It was her advisors who seemed to think she was; I mean, they held a secret meeting without Elizabeth even there!

  • Elizabeth was truly a royal bitch.

  • @RPenta you have to be, to be a woman and rule a vast empire in a patriarchal world.

  • I see why her son took the quick decision to crimble Fotheringay (the place where Mary was executed) down after becoming king of England. Mary and Elizabeth... It's a story about two women, one versus the other one in a world led by men, a really catchy story.

  • God forgieves Elisabeth and all her nation, born on the blood of a olied queen.

Take the soul of a Saint queen inside your heart and full it of joy and grace against the pain that evil souls gave her.

De prufundis clamavi a te Domine, Domine exaudi vocem meam.

  • and perhaps the time has come for markellon to learn some English?

  • i studied english alone years and years ago :-)! sorry. My english is a mixture of ancient latin way of writing...and now after your right comment, you will help me to understand better my mistakes and to learn english. Nevertheless my words for queen Mary even if are unright, are full of real pain.

so...we study english remembering that "en ma fin git mon commencement"

    thank you

Deus dedit, Deus abstulit: sit nomen Domini benedictum +

  • And then she pretended ...knowing nothing...

    Hypocrital.

  • autsch xD

  • Oooohh, that gotta hurt!!!!

  • OMG that was gruesome.

  • The executioner was not experienced...

  • Why was she killed?

My brother said it was Queen Elizabeth, her half sister./

  • she was her couson, she was killed because people forced the queen to sign her death warrent. but she changed her mind. (guess I atuaily do pay attention to those history lessons)

  • i think marys grandmother was the sister of elizabeths farther henry V111,correct me if im wrong

  • Whoa..this is the first time I see a head being chopped off...in most movies they don't show it

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAa

  • that is the reason that i can not stand the death penealty, to mant people have been found not guilty after being put to death, and it too late, this video just shows how backwards we are , if we need to put people to death, MUDER IS MURDER NOT MATTER WHO DOES THE DEED.

  • that sucks her head didnt come off in the first blow

ugh, everytime i see this it just...

  • I am fascinated with execution scenes.

  • this seen is awefull

  • what language are they speaking?

  • Jaeqo -They're speaking Spanish

  • Except for when Mary and the Priest are praying, that's Latin

  • It´s Italian, not spanish.

  • uhm.. ouch?

  • o my god...didn't expect that...it was...urggh

  • Comment removed

  • holy shit. I dont understand how people can be so cruel to one another. no one deserves that.

  • an ya teica al ve ronica ionerica

  • 1:30

  • This is......graphic. Wasn't expecting that.

  • At 1:30: "I ain't got no body, no body's attached to me..."

  • lol i love that movie!! but this is very sad.

  • haha... nice one

  • omg....that looked.........graphic o___o never quite seen a execution like that before

  • I should hope not! :O

  • Ouch - I've never seen such a graphic execution scene before.

I read that when Mary Stuart was executed, the first blow hit the back of her head and she whispered "Sweet Jesus".

And yes, her lips continued to move for even fifteen minutes after the beheading.

  • i thought he have to cut her head 3 times but 2?

  • they dont show her as beautiful as she should have been

  • its kinda wierd how it just falls of really fast.

  • Good god! I couldn't sleep for 2 days because of this scene. Absolutely horrifying!

  • I understand. Jeremy Irons looks so digusting. ;)
